I am The London Sound Healer, and I am a Sound Healer and Reiki Master. I have been following a shamanic path since my teens, and I have studied with the Power Path School and Sandra Ingerman, and I am currently deepening my studies with The Sacred Trust in the UK. I have been very lucky to spend time in the Amazon rainforest with the indigenous locals learning about their relationship and medicinal uses with the plants and trees. I am deeply passionate about the healing and transformational power of sound, which is particularly needed at this transitional time on our planet. I trained at The College of Sound Healing, where I am an accredited member, and I work with 432hz crystal bowls and Tibetan singing bowls, along with the gong. I have also trained with sound pioneers Jill Purce and Jonathan Goldman. I heal through sound on a one-to-one basis, and also in groups for sound baths and events for adults and children alike. I am a third generation Healer, following in the footsteps of my mother and grandmother.

Leeds Sanctuary is a network of communities in Leeds City Centre, that each begin with encounter and embody sanctuary and justice, through which individuals and the city flourish in the ways of God’s Kingdom. You can read more about those core values here. We create spaces and resources on and offline for people to connect more deeply with themselves, one another and important issues of social justice. We are exploring craftivism, meditation, mindfulness, climate change, wellbeing, Christian spirituality and much more. We create free mindfulness, meditation and craftivist resources, which are available on our blog. We also run in person events on these themes as well as wellbeing sessions for different groups. If you are interested in learning more about any of this, contact us here. We work in partnership with many organisations and are always looking for new ways of connecting. We are a Christian project for people of all faiths and none run by the Yorkshire West Methodist District. We are building on a strong history of Methodism in Leeds City Centre.

I have worked in the fitness industry for over 19 years starting my career with large gyms and organisations. I train individuals and small groups of clients so I can focus on you and what you hope to achieve. We all have different goals, lets smash them together. The 100th BOOBS Approved venue is a new cafe-bar in Swinton, Salford. Hadfields cafe became BOOBS Approved after opening just weeks ago.Be Open on Breastfeeding Salford (B.O.O.B.S) and our sister project BOOBS in Bury are open community groups set up to empower women to be open about their breastfeeding experiences and inspire others to breastfeed for longer. We believe every mum should have the chance to have a happy, safe and comfortable breastfeeding journey. BOOBS is part of our parent social enterprise Visit from the Stork CIC and was first set up in 2014 by CEO Kimberly Bond. The project is led by Rachel Parkinson (Project Manager), Kerry Purle (Administrator and Peer support lead) and our team of amazing volunteers. Meet our team here. We support mums by; Offering online and face-to-face breastfeeding support across Salford and Bury, Running monthly social and educational Breastfeeding cafe events at our BOOBS Approved venues in Salford and Bury Holding antenatal ‘A BOOBS introduction to Breastfeeding’ sessions for mums-to-be, currently in Prestwich but open to all mums. Pram walks and small meetups in Radcliffe, Bury Campaigning for mums to be supported in the community through our BOOBS Approved campaign. Offering a membership scheme with exclusive discounts at our BOOBS venues to support families and local businesses.

In the United Kingdom various providers have always been able to run their own schools, whether via the maintained or independent sector. This has enabled many faith and other groups to establish and run schools which appeal to different cohorts throughout the country. In England, all schools registered with the Department for Education need to comply with regulations and guidelines which are based on legislation and current educational thinking. Schools are inspected and regulated by Ofsted – a non-ministerial department of the UK Government. Since the 2010 Equalities Act, and more recently the Children and Social Work Act 2018, the Department for Education has revised their regulations and guidelines in such a way that challenges foundational religious beliefs and traditional family values. It is very clear that Ofsted and the Department for Education are focused on promoting an agenda whereby “all protected characteristics are equal, but some characteristics are more equal than others”. Simultaneously there has been a calculated and concerted effort by secular humanist organisations to not only investigate and undermine practices in faith schools, but to attack the bedrocks of convention and belief that are the cornerstones of schools who promote faith and traditional family structures. The current challenges in education threaten human rights including the freedom of parents to choose the education they wish for their child.

An inspired student of Yoga and Ayurveda. Connecting the dots... My interest in Yoga and Ayurveda began from a young age and was inspired by rituals, ceremonies and ancient Indian approaches to health and healing observed through family customs and traditions. My mother has been an important role model. She is indeed my first healer and teacher. At first, it was my curiosity of this mystical healing art that led me to read and study more. In my teens, I started attending yoga classes with a well rounded practice of asana, pranayama, rest and meditation. Through living and learning Yoga and Ayurveda, I cultivate such precious awareness of mySelf and life around me. Whilst I continue to learn and grow on my own spiritual journey, I delight in sharing what I learn, gain and receive with others. Nowadays, I passionately integrate the two systems of Yoga and Ayurveda and other holistic health modalities to share therapeutic teachings and practices for groups and individuals to meet different health goals, restore balance and regain vitality. From a young age In Brazil, I received an extensive music education. I studied piano and clarinet and had experience with orchestra and choir. I loved the connection with my teachers, fellow students, and the music itself. Consequently, I studied conducting at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. I decided to deepen my studies in Europe, focusing on early music and voice which led me to live and work in France and Germany for 11 years. I obtained the Diplome d Etudes Musicales at the conservatorium of Strasbourg (France) and a Master of Music from the University of Trossingen (Germany). My studies included vocal technique and interpretation, historically informed practice, harpsichord, and baroque theatre. I was fortunate to study, and work professionally as a vocal coach, choir conductor, and sang with leading European figures and groups, in the world of early music. In 2016, I returned to Brazil and worked on two important projects: Guri and Anima. Guri is a long-standing very influential institution in Sao Paulo, which offers free music education to disadvantaged children. Anima is a renowned musical group with 30 years of intensive research on the musical imagination of Brazil. I was invited as a soloist singer to record its last CD, Mar Anterior which establishes a dialogue between the Afro tradition of Candomble and Portuguese songs composed by the medieval King D. Dinis.
