Crewe Judo Club was founded in 1981 by Sensei Alf Coyles, with CJC then being afiliated to the Budo Association of Great Britain. In 1992, Chris Sharpe took over as Head Coach at Crewe and over the years the club has celebrated many successes. The club offers a range of affordable classes for all age groups from the age of 5 upwards and for all abilities. We run separate junior and senior classes and as well as tournament judo, we also ensure that the traditional aspects of judo are preserved with a monthly kata session, where kata is taught in all the classes. So it is not unusual to see our 5 year olds pratising Go No Sen No Kata. Our club is friendly and professional, with all our coaches holding UKCC coaching qualifications, first aid certificates and child protection qualified. We welcome new members and also visitors from other clubs are always welcome. The Head Coach of Crewe Judo Club is now 2019 Commonwealth Champion Tess Jones, a 4th Dan Black Belt. She is assisted at the club by coaches Neil Dunn and Stuart Bromhead. Aspire Gymnastics Academy has been proudly operating within the London Borough of Havering since April 2006. Aspire aim to provide a safe, effective and child-friendly environment in which the members can participate in Gymnastic activities under the guidance of appropriately qualified coaches. We operate an open philosophy and welcome the support of parents and guardians. Wherever possible we will enable you to observe training sessions provided that it does not contravene our Health and Safety regulations. We also encourage and value parental involvement in the club. The members of the club are organised into groups according to their age, gender, ability, experience and individual needs, and coaches will be pleased to discuss the training programmes and your child’s needs with you. We provide a child/member centred, coach led programme and will endeavour to help your child develop to their optimum level of performance. Our coaches are all British Gymnastics qualified coaches at the appropriate level and have been screened for their suitability to work with children. A Welfare Officer is appointed by the club to deal with any safety issues. The club has adopted the British Gymnastics policies for Child Protection, Equity and Codes of Conduct and all officials, coaches, members and parents must adhere to these policies. Aspire has also received the “Gym Mark” accreditation which recognises our club as achieving an excellent standard against strict criteria.

Carolyn is well known for her work with FE colleges and is regularly invited to speak at national conferences on topics ranging from 'partnership working' through 'creating a safe school culture' to the 'preventive curriculum'. Carolyn has a particular interest in the protection of children and young adults with disabilities; her knowledge and understanding of the complexities of safeguarding vulnerable groups has won her many friends in the special school sector nationally. Policies and Procedures are scrutinised by our auditors Jelf Risk Management, and provide our Health & Safety Management services. Our Youth Staff on an evening carry current DBS checks, safe guarding training, first aid and fire marshal competence. All staff receive personal health and safety booklets annually for which they sign for as read, and risk assessments as well as operational standard procedures are undertaken for activities and basic duties reviewed by the internal IOSH trained Managing Safely Officer and externally by Jelf Risk Management. Accident forms and incident forms are completed for all those reported on site and held accordingly. Health & Safety and Environmental statements are reviewed annually and are on display to the centre’s users. Club polices including; safe guarding and child protection, harassment, grievance, bullying, drugs and alcohol are held on site and reviewed/managed by our Welfare Officer. Club rules and procedures, including GDPR privacy notices are written on membership forms and displayed in all prominent areas of the centre.CCTV surveillance on site supports the security of the building, its staff, volunteers and users/members. Any concerns in relation to the use of Richmond Park, including anti-social behaviour, drugs and alcohol use (adjacent to our Club) should be reported to the local authorities (Police and Council).
