Our aim at Catleaps is to inspire gymnasts to achieve success at their highest possible level, encouraging confidence and developing co-ordination, flexibility and strength. We are affiliated to British Gymnastics, the UK National Governing Body for the sport of Gymnastics and London Gymnastics, the London regional representatives for British Gymnastics. We are members of the Havering Sports Council, and are working towards GymMark (Club Mark quality accreditation). We have links with many schools within the London Boroughs of Havering and Barking & Dagenham, and have worked with the schools mentioned below to provide gymnastics opportunities ranging from gymnastics taster sessions through to coaching gymnasts to compete at the British Schools Gymnastics Association National Finals and the London Youth Games. Think Equal is a global initiative which calls for a system change in education, to end the discriminatory mindset and the cycle of violence across our world and ensure positive life outcomes for our children. Together with world experts, Think Equal has designed a programme to teach social and emotional learning to early years (3-6-year-olds). We ask governments, policymakers and school networks to adopt, and ideally mandate, this programme as a new subject from the age of 3: the optimal window to modify attitudes, values and behaviours, based on evidence from neuroscientists. We ask those who have a duty of care to our children: “how can it be deemed compulsory for a child to learn mathematics, but it is optional for that child to learn how to value another human being or to lead healthy relationships?”.

Fife Council is set to undertake routine safety inspections of headstones at Anstruther Easter Churchyard and Anstruther Cemetery starting on Monday 12 December. Any headstones that are found to require attention will be made safe as sympathetically as possible by the survey team. In a small number of instances, it may be necessary to fence off larger memorials until specialist contractors have had an opportunity to inspect them. Signage advising of the inspections will be placed around the cemetery. Liz Murphy, Fife Council's Service Manager, Bereavement Services, said: “Fife Council has a duty of care to provide a safe environment in each of our 115 cemeteries and churchyards for both the public who visit them and council staff who work there. “I'd encourage local people who have kin within this cemetery to get in touch so that we can keep them advised of any remedial work required.
