42 Acres was first conceived in 2015 by siblings Lara and Seth Tabatznik as a home for personal, social and environmental change after having been deeply inspired number of powerful personal retreats and workshops in their own lives. Including processes such as the Hoffman Process, Satori, Non-Violent communication workshops as well as working with plant medicines. Both Seth and Lara are strong advocates that outer change in the world starts with the self, or to quote Gandhi; “Be the change that you wish to see in the world”.‍ At its core, 42 Acres continues to invite people to reconnect with nature, self and others but has now grown to offer so much more including a range of wellbeing and nature based experiences and events, a biodynamic farm and an abundant nature reserve.

About : I'm Murron Fraser , an artist and printed textile surface designer / teacher based in Manchester in the North west of England. I take inspiration from a variety of places one being nature, translating its forms and natural beauty into original artwork, applied textiles, embroidery and surface print design. After gaining a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Textiles and Surface design, I began designing my own collections as well as working freelance on design projects and collaborating with museums on heritage projects. As well as being a designer, I am also a qualified teacher and teach art and textile courses within the community and educational settings. House of Jack is run by Artistic Director, Ashley Jack, and Studio Producer, Becky Enoch, who co-founded and co-own the studio. An award-winning hip hop dancer and choreographer, Ashley teaches the majority of classes at House of Jack, as well as teaching and mentoring the youth dance companies. She achieved an HND in Professional Stage Dance, as well as training with hip hop and house dance pioneers in New York, Paris and Holland, and now has around a decade of experience in both teaching and performing. The growing House of Jack team includes studio assistants Coral Scott, Natalie Bullions and Natalie Divine, principal teacher Ursula Manandhar (kids classes, beginners Hip hop, advanced Choreo class, AfriVibes), Yasmin Doak and Lorna Brown (Commercial, Heels), Gabriele Bruzzese (kids Breaking), Ilja Dubrovins (adults Breaking), Justyna Malinowska (House, beginners Hip Hop), Darren Hamilton (Popping), Oscar Ho (Locking), Emanuel Carlos (AfroHouse), and Kijean Dill (Dance Party class), as well as many talented dancers who teach workshops and rotational classes, and perform as House of Jack company dancers.

I am an artist, designer and tutor (the fun bits), as well as marketing manager, social media guru, content writer, website designer, photographer, video editor, sales person and book keeper all rolled into one. I love all things magical, mythical and fantastical, which I think creeps out just a little in my work! I like to appeal to the inner child that lurks inside us all and encourage people to allow their imagination out to play once in a while. Here are a few (hopefully) interesting facts about me and how I got here: I grew up in Hertfordshire, then moved around the UK following my studies and my career. I now live near Bishop Auckland in County Durham (North East England) with my partner and my Daisy dog. I was never interested in traditional art at school and honestly cannot recall a single art lesson beyond primary school. I have a Chemistry degree and a Masters in Forensic Anthropology. I am quite an extreme introvert and can happily go days without any human contact. I spent seven years working in Liverpool as a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI), followed by nine years teaching CSI's from across UK police forces and internationally. In 2015, I started making things in my spare time and started selling some of my creations at local craft fairs. In 2016, I discovered fabric sculpting, became the first certified Powertex tutor in the North East of England and began running my creative workshops in my spare time. In 2017, I was made redundant from my role as a Forensic Trainer and decided to use the opportunity to change careers completely and become a self employed 'artist'. (Most of my friends and colleagues thought I was a bit crazy at this point!) Since 2016, I have brought fun and creativity into the lives of countless adults and children through my workshops. I have also put smiles on the faces of even more people through exhibiting, sharing, displaying and selling my creations. And this is what I love so much about what I do now. I love sharing the happiness I get from creating. I love seeing that little smile appear when people see my creations at markets and events. I love seeing the joy and pride people get from creating something themselves. So, thank you for supporting me. Even if it is just by visiting my website or liking my facebook page, it all allows me to continue spreading happiness as well as making me a very happy, creative bunny.

In that, we attempt to provide solutions, to the challenges faced by our clients, through Training & Workshop rather than Consulting. This has made our engagements “Tailored” or “Customised” to the client’s project, circumstances and needs. It tends to take more of a “Workshop” format than “Training” by the end of which, Knowledge and Competences are shared and gained. Our Anti Racist Superhero workshops are a creative and interactive way to develop young peoples understanding of allyship and the introductory terminology around racism. Focusing on allyship to allow a deeper understanding and acceptance of all around us. The workshop is filled with storytelling, creativity and of course our favourite book detective exercise, allowing young people to actively explore doing their own research and learning. Through exploring what racism is and what it means to be anti racist young people take part in a range of creative learning, developing a range of skills and of course team work! LITERARY LEADERS Our Literary Leaders programme blends the traditional book club environment to allow young people to explore stories that explore black history and culture, alongside the work of BIPOC exploring stories of all kinds. Through exploring various kinds of literature from fiction, non fiction, blogs, articles and more our Literary Leaders learn the tools for the five types of writing expository, descriptive, narrative persuasive and creative to ensure that all stories are head and express what they feel needs to be shared with their local and wider community. ANTI RACISM WORKSHOPS(Organisations, Staff, Teachers) Our anti racism workshops for community organisations and schools all start with an initial call to talk with your organisation lead or designated EDI lead to help tailor the workshop to where your school is at on it’s journey in inclusivity and allyship. Our workshops look at; The Protected Characteristics, Unconscious Bias and practical tools and frameworks that allow you to look at where growth is needed within your organisation and where to develop in becoming transformational when it comes to race equality and inclusivity in your organisation.
