Our staff know our students really well and strive at all times to meet their needs by keeping up to date with the latest educational research and continuing professional development. Ormiston Rivers is a dynamic and exciting learning environment with creative teaching and learning as the norm. We are the sole secondary school in Burnham on Crouch and the Dengie, and therefore uniquely placed to ensure that children achieve their potential. Our student exam results remain consistently above national averages and we continue to develop confident students who go out in the world with the security that only a strong education can provide. Our last Ofsted was in October 2016, with the school rated as Good in all aspects, the report can be found on the Ofsted section of our website. Publishing and Thesis ServicesWe’re really proud to say, The Book Hub Publishing Group is now the largest independent Publishing House in the scenic west of Ireland with Offices just outside Athenry town in County Galway and in Limerick. 2020 with the global pandemic seemed a good time to institute some change in direction in the life of the Book Hub Publishing Group which has been busy publishing authors since 2009. Very grateful to Niall, John and the crew for their work over the years, we really wanted to get a stronger sense of the company being led by women and promote the idea of female entrepreneurship in Ireland so we had a team meeting (Zoom as we were all in various states of lockdown) and agreed we needed a formal role of Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Equality – Dr. Mary Helen Hensley was perfect for the role with her life experiences and publication interests. We aim to review inclusion across the board in our projects. Our Northern Ireland Senior Script Reviewer, Anna Gray, was happy to maintain and build on her existing role and also move into ghostwriting. Dr. Phil Noone from Ocean Mindfulness, assumed Senior Irish Reviewer role and Susan McKenna took over as Director, Commissioning Editor and Author Rep. Since 2020, we’ve continued to grow and work with existing and new authors from as far afield as the United States, Canada, Switzerland and even Peru and, of course, we continue to work with Irish authors here in Ireland. We’ve also published several volumes of poetry and have more book projects from several genres in the pipeline. Being women in business is particularly challenging, but also deeply rewarding. We hope to continue to pave the way for diversity and inclusion in publishing and are committed to sparking creative talent. *We have been very fortunate to receive Arts funding for several of our books including ‘Eurydice 29’, ‘Midlandia’, ‘Going Back for all I’d on’ from the Arts Office, Westmeath County Council. Indeed, ‘Eurydice 29’ was also funded by the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht. ‘Bittern Cry’ was funded by Artl!nks and Waterford County Council. ‘Little Pocket of Love’ was funded by Humanli Social Impact Organisation.

The Shop Zero Story When our founder, Sarah Maloy, went all-in on Plastic-free July in 2016, she felt completely overwhelmed! The world just wasn’t set up to help people reduce their waste. In committing to shop more consciously, Sarah embarked on an exciting new journey. She realised that if she was struggling to get bulk food and refills for her containers then other people would be too. How could she help to provide a solution? By opening her own zero-waste shop, Shop Zero (you can read about this experience in Sarah’s own words here). Sarah threw all of her research and knowledge into Shop Zero, only stocking products from ethical suppliers that she would personally use. Why do your eco-friendly shopping at Shop Zero? Our focus is on providing you with great quality sustainable goods with minimal packaging and a lower environmental impact. At Shop Zero, we know the provenance of what we sell – where our products come from and what they’re made of. We work alongside local producers and makers to bring you great quality sustainable products. To reduce packaging and food waste, we offer whole foods and store cupboard essentials in bulk and unpackaged. All ready for your own containers, in the quantities that you choose. We also host an exciting programme of ethically-focused events, talks, pop-up shops and workshops throughout the year featuring some amazing local independent businesses and individuals. And we’re here to talk with you about what you’re buying, so you can shop sustainably with confidence. We need a change in the way we consume and shop. I’m writing to share some important news about QA Dental Engineers. As some of you know, I started QA as a sole trader around 25 years ago, back when the industry was very different to the industry we see today. Due to an increasing client base, I expanded the company to include field engineers and office staff as was necessary and the company grew steadily over the years. With the advancement of technology and development of new techniques, we adjusted our practices to ensure we always stayed current and were able to continue to support our clients to the fullest of our ability. I’ve always been proud of the way our engineers have stepped up to the challenges posed by an ever-changing industry, their willingness to undertake further training and continuing professional development. I surrounded myself with an excellent team and we have always endeavoured to provide the best service we can. Unfortunately, with all that being said, times do change and things do come to an end. It is with regret that I have made the decision to close QA Dental Engineers. We will cease actively trading on the 31st of March 2022, although the office will be open until the 15th of April 2022 in order to give us time to wrap things up properly. I appreciate that this is very short notice, however, we had been hoping to reach an agreement with another company in order to enable us to continue trading (albeit under another name.) Unfortunately, this was not feasible and so we are still in the situation where we need to close our doors. We are not booking in any further service work or Pressure System Inspections in order to make sure we have enough capacity to cover breakdowns and repairs in the weeks we have available. We are unable to recommend another dental engineering company at this time. I personally am going to continue to create better practices for dentists by means of automation of vacuum & compressor systems. I’ve been involved in this for some time with my company Qcall Technologies UK, which some of you may be aware of. I will be available in this capacity for any enquiries you may have.

Early Years is the largest organisation in Northern Ireland working with and for young children. We are a non-profit making organisation and have been working since 1965 to promote high quality childcare for children aged 0 - 18 and their families. Early Years is a membership-based organisation, a registered charity, a company limited by guarantee and is governed by a Board of Directors. On 1st November 2007 we changed our name to Early Years - the organisation for young children. When we started our work in 1965 NIPPA stood for Northern Ireland Pre-School Playgroup Association, but as our work developed we realised that this did not fully reflect all that we do so we changed our name to NIPPA - the early years organisation. In 2005 we realised that our work had moved on again and after consultation with members and stakeholders we voted to change our name to Early Years - the organisation for young children. Currently Early Years provides information and training for parents, childcare providers, employers and local authorities.
