Prior to his involvement in education, Steven worked in the banking sector, leading a large team as a branch manager and helping customers achieve their financial goals. During the pandemic when indoor trips were a big NO NO we decided to make our own trip facilities onsite, by re vamping our corridor that housed bags and coats into our own Nature reserve and Forest Cafe. Remembrance Day On Armistice Day we decided to focus on one person from WW2. Ena Collymore-Woodstock OBE is believed to be the oldest surviving female veteran of the British Army at 103. We had many discussions with the children about Ena and the meaning behind the poppy. It was fantastic to hear the children could recall the information.

I have been tutoring since 2018 originally both Face to Face and Online, but since March 2020 I now offer online tuition only which I have found to be most effective for students of all ages. I offer bespoke lessons, always tailoring the level of work covered to the individual student’s needs and interests. To develop both their self-confidence and attainment levels. I really enjoy helping my students reach their potential. I can offer 1:1 and group tuition online using zoom and bitpaper (click here for more information) according to my clients needs. Offering tuition in the following subjects for ages 4 – 12 yrs (EYFS – Year 6 & Year 7): Maths English (Phonics, Reading, Handwriting, Creative Writing and SPAG) Science I also offer Test Preparation for: Year 1 – Phonics screening Year 4 – Time Tables Year 2 and Year 6 – KS1 & KS2 SATs – for Year 2 and Year 6 Focusing on exam technique, building confidence and covering any areas of the Maths and English curriculum required to enable the child to complete SATs confidently. I can also offer Transition to Secondary School Tuition – for children who lack confidence or have gaps in their learning from their time in Year 6, to enable them to reach their potential in Year 7.

I See Maths allows teachers to put problem-solving at the heart of the mathematics curriculum. Training shows how children can learn to understand the deep structure of different problem-solving tasks and how children can make connections between different problem-solving experiences. Using the I See Maths resources, teachers can immerse children in a wide range of exciting, thought-provoking challenges. NCETM-accredited training events, led by Gareth Metcalfe, give teachers the knowledge, skills and resources to deepen and personalise the mathematics curriculum. Training focuses on showing concepts visually, breaking learning down into small, purposefully sequenced steps and providing children with extended, challenging learning experiences. Gareth has been teaching since 2004 and is a former Assistant Headteacher. Fast Progress Tuition (FPT) is a specialist unregistered Alternative Provision for children who suffer from Emotionally-Based School Absence (EBSA). We build confidence, self-esteem and resilience in a controlled educational setting meaning that secondary complications of EBSA are prevented: education is not compromised and our students are able to take huge steps forward in both social and academic environments. Every child who attends FPT has a different academic pathway and social goals, all of which are developed in parallel with each other, resulting in a child who is active, confident and feels like they can achieve in different environments. FPT are on the Alternative Provision Directory for both Essex County Council and Southend Council.

Sarah Frances Smith School Of Irish Dance Sarah Frances Smith, TCRG, former lead dancer and Dance Captain from Michael Flatleys Lord of the Dance opened her dancing school in 2013 and has watched her students go from strength to strength. The Sarah Frances Smith School of Irish dancing promotes a nurturing learning environment for children of all ages and also offer adult classes. Children enhance their fitness levels while learning the wonderful art form of Irish dance and make life long friends while doing so. The school teaches all elements of Irish dancing ; solo and ceili (team) dancing under the governing body of An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha (CLRG). Although representing a very new school, students have shown great aptitude competitively, moving extremely quickly through the grades, with many already having reached open championship level. The school has had solo recallers and medal winners at various major championships. Most recently, the school had two ceili teams and two soloists qualify for the upcoming World Irish Dancing Championships, which in 2016 will be held in Glasgow. The Sarah Frances Smith School of Irish dancing is truly delighted to have 15 students represent the school at this prestigious event. Sarah Frances herself placed in the top 3 in all major solo championships, and won the world championships with her ceili and figure team mates on numerous occasions throughout her own competitive career. She looks forward to her students following in her footsteps in the future with their continued success!

Fun 2 Learn Code offers coding classes and day camps for children and teens in the Austin area to learn the fundamentals of computer programming and video game development. working on a Scratch project We provide two types of learning opportunities for students: group classes and labs. After-school, homeschool and weekend options are available. No prior programming experience is needed for any of our labs and most of our classes. We also host monthly Coding Nights and periodic workshops. Classes Our group classes are instructor-led and cover a specific program or platform for a certain number of weeks. Classes are designed for beginner and intermediate level students. Options include Introduction to Coding, Minecraft Mods, Video Game Development, Python, Virtual Reality, Keyboarding and others. Labs In our coding labs, students are encouraged to explore technologies that interest them and to work at a pace that they enjoy. We offer ongoing year-round enrollment for our labs, so students can join at any time. Stone Farm Study Centre is located on the edge of Dartmoor in the heart of the Devon countryside. Set in the foothills of the National Park, the site boasts 110 acres of organic park-land pasture and is an idyllic retreat for children to visit. Among 17th century listed buildings we have a traditional working farm where every morning and evening visiting groups can help with supervised farm jobs - complete with pigs, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, alpacas, a donkey, a pony, 'Hedwig' the African eagle owl and resident sheepdog Baloo there really is something for everyone! Stone Farm also has its own onsite lake where, if lucky, the children will be able to spot local birdlife including ducks, geese, moorhen and kingfishers. When taking a nature walk in the adjoining woodland we often see deer, foxes and badgers. First established in 1992 by two former teachers, Stone Farm Study Centre has welcomed schools for 30 years and we understand the educational, physical and emotional benefits school visits offer. We have attempted to create a Study Centre which we would want to visit ourselves and an environment in which every child can flourish and grow. We work closely with every school to ensure our on-site activities, and the excursions you choose in the local area, incorporate and complement the curriculum of each year group. Set up specifically and exclusively for primary schools, we welcome KS2 groups from across the country for 3 or 4 night visits.
