I am a former professional badminton player and a personal/career coach and speaker. I have spent over 15 years exploring, trying and testing many personal development principles whilst on the world stage of elite sport to help me create and instil high quality habits and thought patterns. This helped me to deal with the pressure of high level performance, to dare to dream bigger and to set and reach high quality goals. I was not a ‘natural’ at my sport but coaching took me to the top 20 in the world. You may think sports coaching is different but its all about personal transformation on the inside and out. I competed in the very demanding discipline of women's singles before finishing my sports career at the age of 35. Other highlights of my career were becoming Englands number 1 ladies singles player, 5x National Champion and achieving commonwealth and European medals. I am a driven, optimistic and highly motivated person. I strive for excellence and aim to always push my boundaries and reach beyond my comfort zone. I can be serious and I can be fun loving. My current hobbies are yoga and salsa dancing. Whilst being immersed in the 'masculine' world of high performance I like to maintain the femininity in me too. The art of balancing these two sides is what brings out my best self.

Since we opened in 2011 Hammersmith Academy has been striving to do something different. I founded HA because I wanted to create an inspiring school in the local community that had a clear vision, fostered self-confidence in its students and provided a Private School level of education for all. We send you our best wishes at this unbelievable time… COVID, Boris, cake, taxes, Brexit, Climate Change, lies, corruption etc.etc. It is truly appalling but we are still here shining a light on all this and more. However, the team have decided that because we are at a point where people are tired of Zoom, but not ready to get together, that we will concentrate for a while on posting items of interest to keep us going. We currently publish a monthly e-newsletter called Second Sunday News. It will be on our website and a copy be sent out to our mailing list via Mailchimp on the second Sunday of each month. It will feature opinion, local and national triumphs and links to articles and videos. Obviously, it will also link to our website, especially our regularly updated resources area. We will continue to do this until we can arrange meetings and events face to face, indoors or out. So, until we meet, keep looking at our Second Sunday postings. The ASP model is a dynamic framework developed to promote and develop effective multi-agency partnership working across the South West region to bring human trafficking and modern slavery to an end. The model consists of localised partnerships and overarching regional board. The local partnerships represent agencies working within police force areas (Avon and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire and Dorset). The regional board consists of the chairs of each of the local partnerships and representatives from agencies with a South West remit. The ASP Coordinator provides administrative support to the partnerships and provides a conduit for information to flow between the local and regional boards. The ASP has developed its strategy based around the government’s 4P Modern Slavery Strategy. The government’s strategy looks at how to Pursue prosecutions and methods to disrupt individuals and groups responsible for modern slavery, Prevent people from engaging in or facilitating modern slavery, Protect vulnerable people from exploitation and Prepare frontline professionals to identify and support victims. The ASP looks to support this strategy throughout the South West of England in a number of ways. These include raising awareness and providing training to organisations involved in the ASP as well as the facilitation of the sharing of information and intelligence between organisations to enable a joined up approach to disrupting and prosecuting perpetrators and to assisting victims. We aim to provide a platform to enable multi agency strategic thinking across the South West region in line with this strategy and each of the ASPs assess the work they are doing against this strategy quarterly. We are fully aware that slavery and trafficking respects no territorial boundaries and the model has been developed to ensure effective sharing of information, best practice and a comprehensive, cohesive and united response to slavery across the region.
