The University of Manchester – Middle East Centre opened at Dubai Knowledge Park in 2006 with the launch of its flagship Global Part-time MBA programme. Today, the centre has supported over 2,894 part-time MBA students and graduated over 1,849. The centre team also supports a regional community of around 2,800 alumni and actively works to create professional networking opportunities to help enrich the wider business community. The Middle East Centre is the largest and fastest growing centre in The University of Manchester’s international network. Since successfully launching the University’s top ranked MBA programme in the Middle East, the centre has identified a range of key educational and leadership needs in the region through research, collaborations and consultancy work. The University now offers a dynamic portfolio of blended learning part-time Master’s degrees for working professionals, including MSc Financial Management and MA Educational Leadership in Practice. A recent expansion at the centre has also increased the range of facilities available for students. WiseUp Team Building prides itself on delivering team building activities that engage participants. We encourage young people to develop new skills in a fun environment. It is our belief that outdoor education should be accessible to everybody. As a consequence, we are continually developing new methods of delivery to guarantee that all participants’ needs are met. Who We Are Founded in 2011 by Richard and Alexandra Wise, WiseUp Team Building is a mobile company. We provide fun and educational activities all over the country by bringing the equipment to participants. The company started with just one van going out and delivering activity days. Now on our busiest days, we have up to nine teams out all over the country. Richard and Alexandra have over 35 years combined experience working in the outdoor education sector. Working both abroad and in the UK gave this dynamic duo a vast amount of experience working with young people. Additional years at both privately owned and government run establishments meant running activity days for students of all different backgrounds. Whilst working at a large multi activity centre, Richard and Alexandra realised the demand for an outreach service. Chatting to teachers highlighted that bringing young people off site was becoming difficult and certainly more expensive. As a result, Richard and Alexandra founded WiseUp Team Building. A fully mobile service offering the same activities run at outdoor centres to schools across the UK. Running fun and challenging activity days on school grounds significantly reduces the cost. Consequently, this means students from lower income families who can’t usually afford traditional outdoor centre visits can participate. By coming to you, WiseUp removes the complicated planning involved taking pupils off site, which is always a good thing for everyone. Most importantly, students in both Primary and Secondary schools are able to access quality outdoor education. The Team A core operational team support Richard and Alexandra with the logistics of managing WiseUp. Our fantastic activities team uses their years of experience in the outdoor industry to develop new and exciting products. WiseUp is all about innovation, not imitation. Each year, we hire and train additional instructors to deliver our activity days to the highest standard. Many of our Lead Instructors return each season. As a result, it’s not surprising to see some familiar faces returning to your school year after year. WiseUp just would not be complete without our hardworking maintenance team. They spend hours during every season making sure every piece of equipment is completely safe and beautifully painted. This results in our kit coming to schools looking great. National Awards WiseUp Team Building is often recognised for its achievements. Over the years, we have won a number of awards. For example, in 2015 Richard and Alexandra won The Kent Business Award. End point assessments are the final tests given to an apprentice during their apprenticeship. The goal of this activity is to offer an impartial, objective review of individual skills, knowledge, and behaviours. Although the activities are different for each apprenticeship, end-point assessments follow the same general structures. The end-point assessment is performed after a minimum of 12 months after the start of the apprenticeship. It must be successfully completed before the issuance of an apprenticeship completion certificate. Every training provider delivering on Apprenticeship standards must have an agreement with an End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO). Assessment Organisations must be registered on the Government approved register (RoEPAO). The Angel Circus At the beginning of 2012, we converted our offices into a Circus so that our surroundings could reflect the personality and innovation that takes place within the company. Why a circus? Because the circus is a place where talented performers train hard and work to entertain and thrill their audience. In the same way, we want to wow people with our software, customer service and support. We love seeing visitors’ faces when they come to meet Team Angel at our circus. There’s a Big Top and gypsy caravan for creative meetings, a grandstand (complete with ball pool) for presentations, a full-wall blackboard for ideas and inspiration, plus fairground mirrors, a popcorn machine and plenty of other circus curiosities for fun. Most of our staff have even learnt to juggle! And really, it’s our staff who reflect the Angel Solutions DNA more than any props ever could. As an independent education solution provider with the main objective of bridging the gap between vocational education and industry development and employability skills. Pam Education ensures that learners are not only vocationally competent but employment ready. PAM Education officially established its strategic partnership with Tianjin Economics and Trade School (then the Tianjin No. 2 School of Commerce & Tianjin School of Cuisine) to bring authentic Chinese culinary arts training and education onto the global stage. 2017 The partnership has successfully obtained funding from Tianjin Municipal Education Commission under the Lu Ban Workshop Project to establish education and training centre in the UK for Chinese Culinary Arts, to develop fully regulated qualifications and the associated learning resources in English. In May, the first Lu Ban Workshop in Europe was opened at Chichester College (CC). Officials from the Tianjin Education Commission, Senior management from PAM, TES, and CC were participated in the opening ceremony. 2018 In April, the first and only UK fully regulated Level 3 Diploma in Chinese Culinary was approved by PAM Education’s awarding Body - Qualifi and appeared on the Regulated Qualification Framework. In October, PAM Education offered 10 scholarships to prototype the L3 Diploma course with Chichester College Group. Most learners reported to have benefited from the course professionally. 2019 In Early January, PAM-TES collaboration continued to flourish. Witnessed by the senior management team of the Tianjin Food Group, PAM Education and TES signed a MoU to develop a restaurant and international training centre at the iconic building of Cains Brewery in the heart of Liverpool’s vibrant Baltic Triangle. On 31st January, PAM sponsored Chinese Culinary Arts students were given the opportunity of a lifetime when they cooked for Number 10 Downing Street and the Rt Hon Theresa May at the 2019 Chinese New Year Reception. With 150 people attending the event, the students excelled in cooking a variety of canapés alongside four prestigious Chinese master chefs, flown in to help prepare for the event. In February, built on the success, PAM created IACCA, aspired to be the global leader of high quality and authentic Chinese Culinary Arts education and development.
