The Taoist teachings are personally handed down from the teachings and practice of Chee Soo and many Taoists before him. This remarkable man was still actively leading classes well into his seventies, a fine example of the Taoist philosophy of putting “life into your years”. Come and learn how to get the best out of yourself. The Nottingham class is a friendly group with students of all ages and abilities – but you do need to be 16 or over and able to get on and off the floor easily Be fit, be healthy, be happy, be calm, be strong, be flexible, be baffled, be mindful, be enlightened – be human! You will be introduced to a range of exercises that make up Lishi. These include: Daoist Taijiquan (Tai Chi) forms including the Square Yard, Flying Hands and sword and post forms Kai Men – a system of Daoist Yoga to open up the meridians Dao Yin – breathing exercises for good health and energy cultivation Qi Gong – learn how to use and direct your intrinsic energy Feng Shou (Hand of the Wind) Kung Fu – a dynamic system of self-defense! All you need is loose comfortable clothing (e.g. Tracksuit bottoms, T-shirt and trainers) and some indoor shoes (we wear black gym pumps, but clean trainers will do).

Real Life Learning was born in February 2019 with a mission to support young people and adults with special learning needs and disabilities. Fast forward to 2021 and a new life beyond Covid-19 and we have evolved to support people with disabilities in work and study. We work in partnership with other health and education professionals and disability support organisations to bring you the best bespoke support available. We are based in Haslington near Crewe in South Cheshire and support clients across the North West and the UK. Our most remote client lives in Oban in the North of Scotland. We work face to face, in the virtual world and by the good old telephone! Real Life Learning was founded by Rob Pickersgill. Rob has spent his career working in Further, Higher and Adult Education and specialises in coaching and training clients to manage their disability to achieve their potential. Rob loves travelling in the family caravan to remote parts of the UK and France with his family and Bailey, the resident Cocker Spaniel. Oasis Community Hub Hobmoor is particularly focused in the South Yardley area of Birmingham, and at the meeting point of three Wards: Tyseley and Hay Mills, South Yardley and Yardley West and Stechford, although it also works beyond those wards in a number of ways. The work of the Hub incorporates the formal education delivered by Oasis Academy Hobmoor and Hobmoor Community Centre, as well as a large number of community projects that are run alongside them to support students, their families and the wider community. The Hub has made a transformational change to the life of the local community in a number of ways. In 2018/19 the Hub worked with a total of 2,718 local people and had a total of 62 individual volunteers.
