I launched Apples Learning Solutions LTD in March 2015, after over a decade working in Learning. Underpinned by the EASE methodology and with a vision to make learning easy, always. Since then I've continued my love of designing and developing exceptional experiences and I've done this while working as a Contractor, Freelancer and Supplier to some of the biggest companies in the world. Not to mention launching our Online Learning Store, launching ALS Coaching and in Summer 2020 starting the process of taking all of our Facilitated learning online, to help people everywhere to continue to learn, grow and develop anytime. If you're reading this, you're probably looking to make learning easy for you, your team or your organisation and by understanding why and how I work through Apples Learning Solutions LTD you'll learn what I do to make learning easy, always. So how do I do what I do? Firstly, it's worth pointing out that I rarely do it alone. When I'm working with a client on a Contract basis, any success I have is only possible because of the work the Client's team supports. When I'm supplying Learning Products (either Digital, Virtual or Classroom) I'm supported by an amazing graphics designer and her creativity to bring to life even the most abstract of concepts. And when I work as a Leader or Partner on major client projects I'm supported by other experts in Learning through an extensive network of on-demand Facilitators and Designers.

We were so proud when we opened the first pilates equipment studio, not only in Chorlton, but the only Pilates Studio in Manchester back in 2009. Although Pilates started to really take off in the UK around 15 years ago, the traditional Pilates studio complete with its unique Pilates equipment has taken much longer to make an impact in the North of England. But matwork is only scratching the surface of the full Pilates experience, to really get the full system as Joseph intended you need to come and visit us in our small Chorlton studio where we work (and play!) on the full system. Joseph Pilates designed the equipment himself and his exercises for the mat have evolved from the reformer and the other big pieces of equipment such as the cadillac, chair and barrel. Once you experience the studio equipment for yourself you begin to understand more fully how to get the most out of each exercise and you can then apply that to your mat work. For example in a mat class I often say “imagine that you have spring attached to your arms” – on the reformer and the cadillac you are holding onto those springs! By using the springs for resistance throughout the session you will feel the whole of your body working and really challenge yourself. The use of springs doesn’t just act to make exercises harder, it also can support you and is especially beneficial when trying to master rolling work.

I am a surface designer and have been designing and cutting stencils for almost 30 years - first for printed textiles, then for architectural sandblasted glass and currently for papercuts. I love simple, bold and graphic imagery and am inspired by primitive art, Scandinavian textiles, my Welsh heritage and the beautiful Gower landscape where I live, all mixed up with a love of illustration and design. Although I gained recognition for my distinctive architectural glass, undertaking large scale commissions for public and private spaces and meeting the Queen with my work, it is the hands on, simple and traditional technique of paper cutting which I currently find most gratifying. With just a scalpel, paper and cutting mat I create contemporary and humorous images which are designed to make you smile. My products sell across the world and in addition to winning an award at the prestigious Made by Hand exhibition I have been featured in the press. Everything on this site is designed or made by me and I source my products as locally as I possibly can, and always within the UK. I exhibit widely in galleries in the UK and attend many artist events in person as well as running paper cutting workshops from my studio. National Taekwondo Club – Derby (NTC Derby) is a non for profit organisation whose objectives are: Taekwondo Promotion The advancement of the sport by promoting the game of Taekwondo for the benefits of the residents of Derby and its environs. Life Improvement The provision of facilities for the learning, teaching, and playing of Taekwondo for the benefits of the residents of Derby and its environs with object of improving the condition of life. I've always had a love for paper products - buying a new diary was the hightlight of my school year and scraps of wrapping paper, sticker sheets, and vicotorian die cuts were treasured in old shoeboxes to reuse some day. I've always been drawn to kitschy imagery, glittery ephemera and colourful, quirky illustrations - looking back at my younger self, I can totally see why I do what I now do! After years of working in the corporate environment I decided to chase my bigger dream - running gooseglitters fulltime and show the world what beauty we can find in those old, vintage papers. It has become my mission to save as many secondhand books as I possibly can so you can often find me wondering around carboot sales and flea markets. Making new art from these old, used, sometimes ripped and stained, scribbled on, gorgeous papers makes me truly happy. Reusing and repurposing what is already with us and celebrating the life these books have lived, the conversations they've been part off, the households they've lived in: I seriously believe they need to be seen again. What makes me almost happier than creating collages myself is introducing others to this beautiful craft - have a look on my workshop page for more information.
