Park Pharmacy Trust, a registered Educational Charity, has since its inception in 1984 been working closely with Plymouth City Council for the wider benefits of the local community. It has received National recognition for both its innovative approaches to life-long learning and as a tourist attraction for visitors to Plymouth. Its famous C J Park Pharmacy, the last remaining Victorian chemist's shop in Plymouth, established in 1864, had been a major tourist attraction in the Merchant's House Museum where it was manned by trust volunteers. There thousands of visitors could see the pharmacy, try their hand at old fashioned pill-rolling (and earn a certificate of proficiency in the art of pill rolling) and talk to the volunteer stewards on duty. A weekend event held at the Merchant's House Museum Pharmacy is Phun, attracted record numbers of visitors. The pharmacy was televised Nationally to over 8 million viewers when Park Pharmacy Trust became the joint United Kingdom winner in the Tourism and Heritage categories of the BBC's ''It's My City!'' competition. In fact, Plymouth, because of Park Pharmacy Trust, became the only winning city in the south of England. The C J Park pharmacy display is currently in store and the Merchant’s House is closed following extensive repairs to the structure of the building. Park Pharmacy Trust has ambitious plans to develop a major tourist attraction: Plymouth Heritage Health Science Exploratory (THE EXPLORATORY) in which the C J Park pharmacy display will be rebuilt. This is the way the pharmacy purchased by Mr Charles Park in 1875, looked in 1864. It was then at no. 1 Mutley plain. It is thought that Mr Park moved the pharmacy to number 23 Mutley Plain around 1879. The original shop had four carboys (big glass bottles) in the window whereas at 23 Mutley Plain there was only room for three carboys. The fourth carboy was found in the hayloft and is in the collection of Park Pharmacy Trust and will be included in the C J Park display in the Plymouth Health Science Exploratory. . The Scottish Music Therapy Trust is run by a team of volunteers students, music therapists, academics and other professionals dedicated to promoting music therapy. He is a keen amateur musician with a background in disability awareness. He has sat on a number of committees advising both the public and private sector on how best to support the needs of the disabled community, not only in Scotland but throughout Europe. The SMTT allows him to combine these interests in music and in disability. Trustee: Dr Philippa Derrington Philippa is a Music Therapist and Programme Leader of the MSc Music Therapy at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Trustee: Duncan Campbell Duncan is an Edinburgh based Music Therapist, having graduated from the MSc Music Therapy course at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, in 2018. He has clinical experience of working with adults and children with learning disabilities, ASD, mental health and also working with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. Currently Duncan is working full time within NHS Lothian’s CAMHS. Trustee: Nadine Allan Nadine is a registered Music Therapist who graduated from the MSc Music Therapy course at Queen Margaret University in 2020. She is currently working with ELM Music Therapy in Aberdeen and the shire. Nadine has clinical experience of working with children, adolescents and adults with additional support needs and mental health difficulties. She is currently working mainly with children who have profound multiple learning disabilities in schools, as well as co-running a Sing and Sign group. Trustee: Hannah Quigley Hannah is a student on the MSc Music Therapy Course at Queen Margaret University. Before beginning the course in September 2021, she studied Music at the University of Edinburgh where she gained experience delivering community music workshops in schools, mainly for children with additional support needs. Trustee: Tilly Mütter Tilly is a student on the MSc Music Therapy Course at Queen Margaret University. After completing her undergrad in Canterbury she became the Music Lead at The Sunflower Federation Schools in Hertfordshire; for students with additional needs and profound multiple learning disabilities, where she used music to help improve the student’s individual targets.

Our children’s centre is part of the wider Wigan Council Start Well network offering the activities that you can enjoy. We provide support and services for the communities of Hindley and Hindley Green; Abram and Platt Bridge; Ashton and Bryn. Start Well Family Centres are working with residents and supporting them to get involved in the Start Well offer, building on the attributes and strengths of communities in the borough. Platt Bridge Start Well Family Centre is integrated within the school building. Our Start Well Family Centre offers families with young children the opportunity to access good quality early years provision and other health, family support and employment related services. Within our Start Well Family Centre we work with a range of partners and other groups to provide: Early years provision - full day care for 0 - 3 year olds, Nursery education places and extended care places for 3 - 4 year olds, before, after school and holiday care places for 3 - 11 year olds Crèche facilities Parent and child groups/activities Childminder's network Parenting and family support services Education, training and employment services Access to health and other wider services, including Job Centre Plus Jo Robinson is our Start Well Family Centre Manager she works closely with children, families and the community to identify the services required within Platt Bridge, Hindley, Abram, Bryn and Ashton. In our team we also have a Senior Start Well Worker and three Start Well Workers who are available for families to speak to at any time. We have two Early Years Workers who deliver a range of activities and projects for families and children. Our Receptionist/Information Worker is always on hand at our Platt Bridge site to offer any advice or information required. We’re one of the biggest community platform in the South of Scotland, and we work with our partners to use culture as means to improve the lives of our community who are experiencing high levels of social and rural isolation. As a unique social co-operative, we have over 170 voluntary members who contribute to our social model through volunteering, sponsorship or advocacy. Anyone can join our membership organisation. We have just taken over the Loreburn Hall in the centre of Dumfries which is a temporary cultural space, including an 80 seat cinema, 50 seat cabaret lounge, 50 seat black box theatre and a main hall with a capacity of 1200 Our work takes place in schools, residential homes, cafes, car parks, swimming pools and in all sorts of locations throughout our region. We believe that there are barriers that prevent members of our community taking part in culture and we do everything we can to deliver socially driven projects that help to improve the cultural health of our region through our seasons of projects which aim to increase resilience by connecting our community through our cultural programmes and services. Our signature projects include a diverse range of community arts based programmes and iconic place-making projects including our annual winter festival, Carlisle Fringe, Dumfries Carnival, Le Haggis, High Tea, Queer Haggis, Dumfries Youth Theatre, Dumfries Community Choir and Producers of the Future. Every year we deliver more than 300 shows across our festival programmes, as well as weekly community arts sessions to over 100 participants, creative industry training for emerging artists and the sector across Dumfries & Galloway, and traineeships in producing across our major projects.
