From the Edinburgh Hat Studio, award-winning Scottish milliner and hat maker Sally-Ann Provan creates bespoke handmade hats, headpieces, & bridal millinery for weddings (the bride, her family & guests), Royal Ascot, Henley Royal Regatta, investitures, Royal garden parties, special occasions, stage & screen. For every event and and everyday! Sally showed for two seasons at London Fashion Week in her own catwalk show, and her work and inspirations are featured in four books. She is also featured in the main film in the 'Fashion and Style' gallery at the National Museums of Scotland, and created a headpiece which was shown in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery as part of the stunning 'Beauty By Design' exhibition. She is a V&A Dundee Design Champion. Her hats have graced the heads several members of the Royal Family including HRH The Duchess of Cambridge; HRH Princess Beatrice; HRH Princess Eugenie; Zara Tindall; and Autumn Phillips, and other clients include First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins, and broadcasters Edith Bowman; Charlotte Hawkins and Francesca Cumani. She also creates headwear for opera, ballet, and theatre companies, television, and film. Each piece is designed and made with great attention to detail and finish. She is Scottish Opera's milliner making hats for over 30 of their productions, and other clients include The BBC, Scottish Ballet, The Royal Lyceum Theatre, and Netflix including a hat worn by leading lady Brooke Shields in 'A Castle for Christmas'. After her BA Hons degree in jewellery, Sally dallied a while in paper conservation and museum sculpture, before nurturing her passion for hats and accessories with comprehensive millinery training in London. Amongst others, she has trained under the late Queen Mother's milliner and with The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. She was one of 100 top British design business selected to exhibit at 'UK Now' in Australia, and also exhibited at the prestigious Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show.

Rose is 5 foot 2 1/2 inches (and yes that half-inch is important). She is a brunette with 100% natural face-defining eyebrows. Growing up she believed that the ideal of beauty was a size zero, tall, leggy blonde and was so disappointed she would never be one. Growing up with two older brothers she was also a tomboy. In adulthood, the first garment that made Rose feel joyous every time she wore it was a vintage red swing dress with black polka dots. She didn’t wear a lot of colour or prints at the time but this dress is what started to convert her. It was impossible for her to wear this dress and not feel happy about life and her body. This is the type of feeling she hopes to help everyone achieve when they wear a Rose Noir Designs garment. Rose trained in design, specifically scenery and costumes for theatre. This work has helped her to see how clothes help us to define who we are and express ourselves, as well as experience working with a wide range of body types. In between making her designs for theatre, she started making bespoke pieces for individuals, which eventually led to working with latex. Initially she worked almost exclusively for plus-sized women. This happened mostly by chance but became very important. Rose believes that everyone has the ability to be sexy, the right to feel sexy, and to be empowered through what they wear. “I started designing for a lot for dominant women, who were strong and confident, but didn’t always feel that way about their bodies because of the downfalls of the clothing industry and standard sizing. I’ve found it incredibly rewarding to design for all shapes and sizes and really make a garment fit an individual. Everyone can look good in a garment if it fits them. Making someone feel good is what clothing should do. And I hope for clothing to be as unique as the person wearing it.”

Sparkle Dance opened in May 2009. Over the coming years we have grown to be a BIG small business. We offer our students lots of opportunities to shine and develop their skills whilst still keeping focussed on a family oriented, nurturing heart to our school. Classes are run by Lead teacher Jane Franklyn, with a team of trainee teachers that have grown through the school. Sparkle is focussed on offering classes to everyone. Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do and no matter your ability, differences or academic level, our classes are adapted to suit every child as an individual. We run regular exams with B.A.T.D and hold a show at a local theatre every 18 months. We are very proud to have recently been shortlisted in the South East Entertainment awards for Dance Teacher and Dance school of the year. Our students regularly take part in charity events, performances, and show opportunities.

I have created proven unique methods which use fun workshop techniques to engage students and teach them to play well observed and convincing roles at all levels. I organise and help with student support resources to help students offline as well. One of my favourite roles is running practice exam sessions before the real online exam with LAMDA examiners. The students are amazing! I have over 30 years experience working with young people and children. I ran two successful drama departments and produced and directed many theatre shows before embarking on my Dramaworks journey. I have had 20 years working with LAMDA exams and I adore them!

Since becoming NPO in 2018, CAN has hosted three CAN Festivals which are the first arts festival across London dedicated to showcasing contemporary Chinese performing arts with performances at venues such as Southbank Centre, Shoreditch Town Hall, LSO St Luke’s, King’s Place, BFI, Rich Mix, Soho Theatre. CAN Festivals presents over 50 British East Asian artists each year from 2019 to 2021. CAN Productions have toured around the UK and internationally and CAN continues to pioneer innovative digital works. OUR VISION Our vision is for CAN to produce and present to the public, work that explores Chinese themes, stories and art forms, and work that blends Chinese and other contemporary art forms. Karen is a Suffolk based Dance Artist specialising in contemporary and community dance. She trained at Roehampton University where she gained a BA (hons) in Dance Studies. Karen went on to complete a PGCE at University Campus Suffolk in 2014 and has worked in a range of educational settings in Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. She is currently teaching her own classes Stow Movers and Hadleigh Movers, movement classes for 55+ years, and her youth company Karen Louise Youth Dance which all run weekly. Alongside regular delivery, Karen has taught on many exciting projects including: –Big Dance 2016 (in conjunction with Akram Khan & People Dancing) -Big Dance Workshops 2016 (in conjunction with Anna Rowe Dance) -7 Schools 1 Town 2017 (DanceEast & Gecko Theatre) -The Inkwell 2017 including Arts Award (DanceEast) -KLD & Yodanga Arts Summer School 2018 & 2019 -Hadleigh Hullabaloo 2019 (DanceEast) –Dance From Home 2020 – Present (DanceEast) -Tell Your Story Project 2022 (ICEP & St Pancras Primary School) -Jubilant! 2022 (The Food Museum, Mendlesham Primary School & John Peel Centre) In 2018 Karen worked as Producer for Ipswich Choral Society on a large-scale community project commemorating WW1; Ipswich Remembers. She continues to enjoy these Producer roles and has produced several KLD projects in 2020. Most recently Karen works for Dance Network Association in Essex as their Dance Development Officer. She runs and delivers on programmes such as their Youth Company, Dancing with Dementia, RE:Generation Colchester and their Dancing with Parkinson’s classes. Karen was part of the 17/18 cohort for Overture, a professional development opportunity with ReBourne. She was 1 of 16 UK Dance Artists that took part in four residential weekends. She has also recently completed a Dementia Care Mapping course through Bradford Universirty supported by DanceEast, and also was a part of the Emerging Leaders programme with National Centre for Writing. Karen is also a keen performer, and has been a member of Kinetica Dance Collective (formerly Dance Unlimited), a performance group in Suffolk, for seven years now, and performs regularly in East Anglia.
