It also provides guidelines on how to characterise subsurface fluids, including oil condensate and gas; refine petroleum systems, and predict fluids quality.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">The lectures and exercises are designed to improve the participants&rsquo; understanding on how to characterise source rocks and fluids, using bulk, molecular and isotopic tools that facilitate their understanding. Some examples of topics include source rock screening analysis, optical (maturity) analysis, gas chromatography (GC), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), biomarkers, isotopes and chemometrics to identify oil families, perform oil-oil and oil-source rock correlations. <p>Your expert course leader has written several papers that have been published in both academic and industry journals. He has over 30 years of industry experience, specializing in gas processing (pipeline hydraulics, separation, dehydration, treating, sulphur recovery and refrigeration processes) and also has experience with crude oil dehydration, stabilization and micro-refining topping plants. He has experience with developing new technology and is recently involved in lithium, waste biomass and used motor oil pyrolysis and geothermal projects. He has recognized expertise in thermodynamics and physical and transport properties of fluids. He has consulted for several EPC and operating companies through his company Chem-Pet Process Tech., and currently holds the role of Director of Technology in an integrated engineering and solutions provider to the energy industry. He is currently involved with a small power-based carbon capture project as well as helping clients determine the best options for utilities decisions. He has been involved with CO2 dehydration and CO2 flood gas treating as well as acid gas injection projects for several years.</p>

<li>Evaluated gas processing and sulphur recovery options for new feeds to the Zhaikmunai Zelenovsky Gas Plant, Kazakhstan (with PM Lucas, Serbia).</li>
<li>Completed capacity analysis for hydrocarbon dew point versus liquid recovery of three trains at Birchcliff Pouce Coupe facility including amine unit, refrigerated gas plant and acid gas injection.</li>
<li>Completed process design for CO2 flue gas dehydration for Husky Energy Inc (with Status Engineering)</li>
<li>Provided simulations of EnCana Foster Creek and Christina Lake and Husky McMullen SAGD facilities (with Vista Projects). Performed process engineering for Cenovus Pelican Lake SAGD pilot (with GRB Engineering) Bear Lake heavy oil polymer injection pilot (with GRB Engineering).</li>

<p>Your expert course leader has over 45 years of experience in the Oil &amp; Gas industry. During that time, he has worked exclusively in the well engineering domain. After being employed in 1974 by Shell, one of the major oil &amp; gas producing operators, he worked as an apprentice on drilling rigs in the Netherlands. After a year, he was sent for his first international assignment to the Sultanate of Oman where he climbed up the career ladder from Assistant Driller, to Driller, to wellsite Petroleum Engineer and eventually on-site Drilling Supervisor, actively engaged in the drilling of development and exploration wells in almost every corner of this vast desert area. At that time, drilling techniques were fairly basic and safety was just a buzz word, but such a situation propels learning and the fruits of 'doing-the-basics' are still reaped today when standing in front of a class. After some seven years in the Middle East, a series of other international assignments followed in places like the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Turkey, Denmark, China, Malaysia, and Russia. Apart from on-site drilling supervisory jobs on various types of drilling rigs (such as helicopter rigs) and working environments (such as jungle and artic), he was also assigned to research, to projects and to the company's learning centre. In research, he was responsible for promoting directional drilling and surveying and advised on the first horizontal wells being drilled, in projects, he was responsible for a high pressure drilling campaign in Nigeria while in the learning centre, he looked after the development of new engineers joining the company after graduating from university. He was also involved in international well control certification and served as chairman for a period of three years. In the last years of his active career, he worked again in China as a staff development manager, a position he nurtured because he was able to pass on his knowledge to a vast number of new employees once again. After retiring in 2015, he has delivered well engineering related courses in Australia, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, China, South Korea, Thailand, India, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, The Netherlands, and the United States. The training he provides includes well control to obtain certification in drilling and well intervention, extended reach drilling, high pressure-high temperature drilling, stuck pipe prevention and a number of other ad-hoc courses. He thoroughly enjoys training and is keen to continue taking classes as an instructor for some time to come.</p>

<p>Your specialist course leader has more than 32 years of practical engineering experience with Ontario Power Generation (OPG), one of the largest electric utility in North America. He was previously involved in research on power generation equipment with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited at their Chalk River and Whiteshell Nuclear Research Laboratories.</p>
<p>While working at OPG, he acted as a Training Manager, Engineering Supervisor, System Responsible Engineer and Design Engineer. During the period of time, he worked as a Field Engineer and Design Engineer, he was responsible for the operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and testing of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, motors, transformers, inverters, valves, pumps, compressors, instrumentation and control systems. Further, his responsibilities included designing, engineering, diagnosing equipment problems and recommending solutions to repair deficiencies and improve system performance, supervising engineers, setting up preventive maintenance programs, writing Operating and Design Manuals, and commissioning new equipment.</p>
<p>Later, he worked as the manager of a section dedicated to providing training for the staff at the power stations. The training provided by him covered in detail the various equipment and systems used in power stations.</p>
<p>In addition, he has taught courses and seminars to more than four thousand working engineers and professionals around the world, specifically Europe and North America. He has been consistently ranked as 'Excellent' or 'Very Good' by the delegates who attended his seminars and lectures.</p>
<p>He written 5 books for working engineers from which 3 have been published by McGraw-Hill, New York. Below is a list of the books authored by him;</p>

<p>This 2 half-day Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) course will guide participants on the technoeconomic aspects of capture, utilization and geological storage of carbon dioxide. The VILT course will address the methods and techniques used in the technoeconomic assessment of Carbon Capture, Utilization &amp; Storage (CCUS) projects. It will explore in detail the factors that affect the cost-effectiveness of current and emerging technologies for CO<sub>2</sub> capture, transport and geological storage, including monitoring and verification. Given that the successful deployment of CCUS may require economic incentives, technical and economic drivers such as technological innovation, optimization, source sink matching and emerging opportunities will also be discussed.</p>
<p>In addition, using several worked examples and case studies, this VILT course will explain the principles behind the analysis of the costs and opportunities of a CCS / CCUS project from source to sink and examines the possibilities of using carbon dioxide from an economic perspective.</p>

<p>Your expert course leader received his B.Eng. in Chemical and Environmental Systems in 2002 from TecnolÃ³gico de Monterrey, Mexico, and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 2008 from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), in Sydney, Australia, at the UNESCO Centre for Membrane Science and Technology. His doctoral used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to analyse the flows within membrane modules used for water treatment and desalination. He also worked on a desalination linkage project between the UNSW and the European Union, as part of Framework Programme 6.</p>
<p>From 2009 to 2014, he worked for the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC), where he led the research into CO2 Transport Networks, co-led the development of a techno-economic model for the analysis of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects, and collaborated on several consultancy and feasibility studies conducted by CO2CRC for both Government and Industry. From 2014 to 2019, he held a CONACYT Research Fellowship at the Instituto TecnolÃ³gico de Sonora (ITSON) in Mexico, where he led collaborative research projects dealing with RO membrane biofouling (IHE-Delft), membrane modifications, solar energy use for desalination (CSIR-CSMCRI India) and CFD modelling of the hydrodynamics in membrane modules (UMP Malaysia).</p>
<p>Since July 2019, he is a Research Fellow in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Sydney, where his research focuses on finding ways to reduce the cost, energy use and environmental impact of technologies for providing clean energy and water. From 2015 to 2020, he was a Member of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Society of Membrane Science and Technology. He guest edited a special edition on CCS for the Journal 'Technologies' and is currently an Editorial Board member for the journal, 'Energies', a peer-reviewed open-access scientific journal. His research interests include improving the efficiency of osmotic membrane separation processes, modelling complex processes involving heat and mass transfer, and exploring the economic drivers of low emission technologies such as the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) chain.</p>

Chynna is the founder and CEO of Matriarch Made Development, a consulting firm that helps organizations develop high performing administrative teams and identify and address overall operating structure
and events logistics inefficiencies. From helping leaders figure out their onboarding, communication flow, event logistics and how to further develop the talents of their teams, Chynna supports leading organizations in creating a systematic approach to tackling business/events challenges and bottlenecks.
Prior to Matriarch Made, Chynna worked in the personal office of Barack and Michelle Obama as their Director of Travel and Event Operations. Her career also includes administrative roles at Disney and the White House where she served as “body woman” to Mrs. Obama during the Obama Administration.
Chynna graduated from University of Florida with a B.S. in Event Management and Political Science and a minor in Business. She currently resides in Washington, DC with her wife, Retired Naval Chief Petty Officer, Katina Hoyles.

Kate is a business owner, qualified coach, consultant, facilitator, trainer, podcaster and public speaker with a background in learning & development, employee engagement strategy, continuous improvement, communications and marketing. After 25 years working across the board in blue-chip, non-profit and civil service organisations she now provides support to businesses looking to evolve and become great places for people to work in and with. 
Having worked with a wide variety of clients from school-age students to senior executives, she has been designing and running workshops, seminars and classes in person or via web events since she left long commutes and corporate roles behind in 2014 when she created her first two businesses. Her passion is in improving working relationships between roles and functions, supporting people to discover how to be their best selves at work. She does this in the auto-motive industry, financial services, medical teams, charities, global media, retail, education systems and the arts.
