I have had a passion for music as long as I can remember, but it is the guitar that drew me the most. Yes, it’s a great instrument made famous by the rock bands of the past four decades, but beyond this the guitar is truly an incredible instrument; it offers a rich variety of sounds, different guitar types have an impressive and expressive palette of timbre – it’s great performed solo as well as making a great companion to any ensemble. As the founder my vision for Inspired Music School (IMS) is to build an enterprise that brings the passion that I feel about music to people’s homes, lives and their special occasions. My personal vision is to spread the joy of playing an instrument and make music more accessible to all ages and aptitudes. IMS has wants to provide an outlet that helps to nurture well-being and personal growth in every one of us. IMS aims to bring tools for wellbeing to every home, office, organisation and individual. Learning and playing music has been shown to grow the 5 ways of wellbeing that are shown to improve health, connect with other people, be physically active, learn new skills, give to others and pay attention to the present.

My passion for travel started when I was 17, leaving home and going to the Irish traditional city of Galway on the beautiful west coast of Ireland to live and work. This journey has continued and never wavers to the current day. I’m always looking for the next adventure and to “step outside my comfort zone” I have taught English and lived in San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne, Hungary, Spain and traveled extensively all over Asia and the Pacific. pexels-photo-1560932 Educational Tourism I currently work in Educational tourism and I’m the European Project Manager for Foyle International Ltd. I oversee Erasmus work-based internships from all over Europe. I also write large funding applications to give local people the opportunity to experience different cultures, learn new working ethics and enhance their employability skills. Through this experience, I’ve noticed that personal growth is as important as professional development and that travel and tourism can increase drive, motivation and learning. pexels-photo-1015568 Educational Background My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Business Management with Spanish. I sit on the UK board for ECVET (European Accreditation for Vocational Education and Training) and travel to different European destinations to discuss and devise methodologies to further enhance and improve Erasmus procedures and programmes. Ethos I believe that travel and experiential learning are paramount to one’s development. This includes tourism that focuses on history, culture, heritage, outdoor and therapeutic activities. The inspiring courage of the Dominican Sisters of St Rose Convent in Stroud, led them to found St Rose’s in 1912. Their foundations established the ethos for St Rose’s and St Martin’s today: the happy, family-atmosphere where children and students are challenged to develop and achieve their potential. Set in beautiful grounds within walking distance to the centre of Stroud we offer a nurturing and social environment for students to develop their independence. We provide education, therapy and day and residential care for children and students aged 2 to 25, with a wide range of disabilities, including Autism. In our nursery we have mainstream children, as well as children with disabilities. Many of our students have physical disabilities, as well as sensory, learning and communication difficulties; some also have complex health needs. Parents and carers trust us implicitly. Our very individual and flexible approach means we can easily adapt the programme for each student. As their needs and aspirations change and they develop, we offer new opportunities to support their personal growth and independence. Our integrated team of dedicated and specialist staff makes this possible. As well as specialist teaching staff, we have our own therapeutic staff on site, offering a range of therapies, including physio, speech and language, occupational, aquatic, massage and music. We have our own hydrotherapy pool. We also offer specialist medical support, 24 hours a day. Our staff are truly exceptional, and the trust we build with families is very strong. We also provide individual programmes through strong links with mainstream schools and FE colleges, so students can specialise and flourish where their aspirations lie.
