Career development enables people to achieve their career and life goals, benefiting individuals, the economy and society. The CDI is proud to be the UK’s professional body for all aspects of career development, supporting our members to work to the highest standards and championing the profession. We encourage new entrants into the world of career development and help them get qualified to provide careers education, information, advice and guidance. We set standards for professional practice, including the CDI Code of Ethics, which are recognised by government, and provide resources and training for our members to continually develop. CDI members receive a wide range of benefits, from professional registration and training to connecting with fellow practitioners in our many communities, receiving regular magazines and updates and much more. We support research and thought leadership across the profession, hosting conferences that showcase the latest national and international thinking as well as producing key resources to inform practice from primary school through to adult provision. We also award the Careers Assured quality mark to recognise digital and CPD resources that meet practitioners’ needs. We champion the sector so that governments, employers and the public recognise the value that can be added to the worlds of education, skills and employment by supporting individuals through career transitions and equipping them with lifelong career development skills. We achieve this through our own work and by collaborating with UK and international organisations, including as part of the Career Development Policy Group, to share learning, align key policy positions and act together to raise the profile of career development. We provide consultancy services for a range of organisations, from governments to careers providers, local authorities to schools and colleges, as well as to suppliers to the profession. We offer a range of advertising and sponsorship opportunities to reach our members and their clients, as well as using our expertise to support you with consulting, qualification and development projects. All of this is achieved with our dedicated team [link], our Professional Standards Committee, expert Associates and volunteers, overseen by the CDI Board. We are bound by our governing documents and reinvest all surplus income into supporting our members and championing the sector.

Gateway Family Services CIC tackles the root cause of health inequalities by providing community-based support, helping people to sustain behaviour change and build resilience. Since it was established in 2006, Gateway has provided a range of preventative health and wellbeing services across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, supporting people to: manage their own health in a sustainable way maximise the opportunities of the workplace build and reinforce social and family bonds A non-profit organisation, Gateway uses any surplus to invest in the education, employment, health and wellbeing of the communities we work with. Current services COVID-19 (August 2021 update): Our services are running as usual. From September 2021 our main office in Birmingham will be staffed from Monday-Friday, 9-5. Our new Solihull office at Lode Lane is now open, although our office at the Core (Solihull Library) remains closed. Health and Wellbeing is at the heart of our work at Gateway Family Services. The Solihull Integrated Lifestyle Service offers tailored support for people who want to make lifestyle changes including losing weight, eating more healthily, reducing stress and smoking cessation. The lifestyle service, delivered in partnership with a number of other organisations, makes up a significant part of Solihull First, Solihull’s Community Wellbeing Service: a broader partnership of voluntary and community organisations working together to improve the lives of Solihull residents. Together we promote self-care and independence, making it easier for people in Solihull to find information and advice, as well as providing specialist support for those who need it. We deliver the Social Prescribing Link Workers Service in GP practices across Birmingham and Solihull in partnership with SDSmyhealthcare and their Primary Care Networks. Social Prescribing allows GPs and other care staff to refer patients to a Link Worker, based at the surgery. Link Workers then work with patients one-to-one (either face-to-face or over the phone), offering direct support and signposting to help them take control of their own health and wellbeing, and helping them to increase their active involvement with their local community.

Lifetime Learning is a Charitable Organisation providing FREE courses within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH). Lifetime Learning started in 2012. Since the birth of Lifetime Learning, the organisation has grown and further providing more courses. Lifetime Learning’s main source of funding is achieved through Analyse School Performance (ASP) Training and Consultancy. Analyse School Performance (ASP) Training and Consultancy is provided for all schools and local authorities, analysing the school’s performance and progress data. The mission is to provide quality and multifaceted courses in education and training for Early Years, Primary, Secondary, Special, Church and Independent Schools. Lifetime Learning started off providing IT Training to disadvantaged young people in Tower Hamlets. We have successfully grown and now provide over 15 different courses that are open to the general public! Lifetime Learning is dedicated to working with individuals who want to better themselves. Achieving the fulfilment of education and helping individuals achieve sustainable employment in their desired fields is what we strive for. We work towards spreading permanent change in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets by reducing the unemployment rate, as well as increasing health and social well-being. Lifetime Learning works with grassroots organisations that have gone through a stringent selection process. Would you like to partner with us? If so, the following must be taken into consideration: Lifetime Learning gives priority to the work supported by volunteers. Funds are raised in the UK by organising events and through donations given by individuals, sponsorships, partnerships and organisations. Lifetime Learning has strict screening procedures and shortlists project applications. The Board of Trustees authorises a project. Lifetime Learning uses the management facility in accordance with projects supported in the UK. While we try our very best to ensure that courses run as scheduled, occasionally we may need to cancel or reschedule a course due to unforeseen circumstances or low numbers. Please do not attend any courses without confirmation via phone or email. If you do not receive confirmation, the course may not be going ahead. Inspiring Skills Excellence in Wales prides itself for supporting young people across Wales to achieve excellence. We do this by supporting vocational learning through Skills Competitions and the Have a Go initiative, to help encourage young people to excel in the world of work. The project, secured by the Skills Ambassador Network (SAN) in 2014, is a Welsh Government funded initiative led by Coleg Sir Gar. The SAN, was established in 2011, and consists of a dedicated network of colleges, work-based learning providers and employer-led organisations. Its primary focus, in 2014, was to develop vocational excellence, and encourage and enable greater participation in Skills Competitions by widening the knowledge and expertise across the education and training sector. We recognise that Skills competitions specifically enable young people to achieve their full potential whilst raising their skills levels to meet employer needs. They can drive productivity and prosperity in our economy and create more resilient communities. Investment in skills is an investment in the future of our country, our businesses and our people. The success of the ISEiW project saw the initiative expand in 2016 to delivering what it is today. The project spans across three platforms; Have a Go, Skills Competition Wales and WorldSkills UK Wales, and inspires and elevates young people to achieve excellence. The project provides young people in Wales with improved employability skills and life changing opportunities, with employers benefiting from an additional competitive edge – through the employment of highly skilled individuals bringing proficiency, added value to their businesses and contributing to the prosperity for Wales as a whole. The project establishes a culture across colleges and training providers that delivers more than simply qualifications – it develops world class skills, with experiences that build the confidence and life skills of individuals. A joined up approach to sharing of good practices and expertise is a priority, contributing to raising the standards of teaching and learning across Wales and embedding Skills Competitions as a method of assessing the quality of provision. Through capitalising on the creation of a Team Wales ethos we drive to raise standards and support the creation of a larger pool of highly talented individuals.

Colchester Institute provides first class education, professional development and technical skills training to over 8,000 young people and adults every year. The College supports individuals to launch or develop their careers, and local businesses to access the skills and talent they need to thrive. The College has two main campuses in Colchester and Braintree.  Programmes include full and part time further education courses, degrees and Apprenticeships as well as short courses for industry. Vocational learning is an integral part of all of our courses, where the knowledge gained from practical activities with cutting edge, industry standard resources, work placements and theory provides students with strong knowledge and skills in their chosen field. Our ambition is to ensure that all students achieve the best possible results they can, giving them a competitive edge when entering employment or taking their studies to the next level. Colchester Institute is regionally recognised for its outstanding facilities, which are constantly being renewed and refreshed. In Colchester, we have recently added a fantastic new facility for training in Health and Social Care to our £10m development supporting STEM subjects, and we now have a great new fitness gym for use by all students. At Braintree we have just completed a whole campus transformation programme, providing outstanding learning environments for all subject areas, including some of the very best facilities in the country for Digital Media and Engineering. Recent developments have included a brand new STEM Innovation Centre at our Braintree campus, extensive new facilities for Creative and Digital Media in Colchester and Braintree and a welcoming library and study zones in Colchester. These developments complement our existing fantastic facilities for Hospitality and Food, Performing Arts and Art and Design and many well equipped classroom spaces. Our degree students, enrolled at University Centre Colchester enjoy their own building and facilities and study on a wide range of degrees and apprenticeships, which are also focused strongly on preparing them for work, or progression at work. University Centre Colchester has an excellent track record for its graduates gaining work or further study on leaving the University Centre.

Independent Coach Corporation was established and incorporated in 1941 by Mr. Francis Levett. Mr. Levett started the company with one bus, which he drove and maintained. Gradually, Mr. Levett expanded the company and the number of buses. However, it was only after World War II and the expansion of suburbia that the company began to see extensive growth. Independent Coach's first client was the Lawrence Public Schools which we are proud to note is still our largest client after more than 60 years. The company presently serves approximately 18 school districts in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County and the Long Island Railroad. Independent Coach and Mr. Levett were at the forefront of many safety concerns that affected its passengers. Independent Coach was one of the first school bus companies to have dual stop signs on their buses as opposed to just one. In addition, Independent Coach was one of the first companies to have the new and innovative crossover mirrors, cross over lights on the hoods of buses and the roofs of the buses painted in silver or white paint to reflect sunlight and heat. State law now mandates many of these features. Mr. Nicholas Fabrizio has been an employee of Independent Coach since 1955. He started his employment with the company as a bus driver and mechanic. As a result of his hard work and dedication to the company, Mr. Fabrizio started working alongside Mr. Levett where he learned the school bus industry from the "bottom up." Mr. Fabrizio eventually became the General Manager of all Independent Coach operations. In May of 1999, Mr. Fabrizio and his family purchased Independent Coach from the Estate of Francis Levett and became the company's president. Mr. Fabrizio's extensive experience in the industry along with his working relationship with Mr. Levett has resulted in the company's long lasting commitment to the safest transportation possible utilizing the most efficient and innovative methods in the industry. Independent Coach currently has two bus yards in the southwest section of Nassau County. The Inwood location is the original bus yard of the company while the Hewlett bus yard was purchased later in the 1970's. Independent Coach presently has approximately 300 vehicles in its fleet and approximately 380 employees.
