The main school building, The Widdows, is an English Heritage listed building which opened in 1937 and features in the Midway Heritage Trail. Pupils join our school at the age of 7 when they are in Year 3 and remain with us for 4 years, leaving at the end of Year 6. We have 2 parallel classes in each of the year groups in Key Stage 2 as well as a dedicated Enhanced Resource Unit for pupils with a diagnosis of Autism. Our pupils are at the heart of our school and we pride ourselves on our inclusive ethos and commitment to improvement. We offer a rich and varied curriculum and encourage all our pupils to immerse themselves in every aspect of school life so that they can develop a love of learning and have the skills and knowledge to uphold our values and make positive choices for a happy and successful life.

We're asking your thoughts on draft neighbourhood plans for Twyford and Finchampstead, which will help to shape development in these parishes, until 23 November, 2022. Twyford and Finchampstead Parish Councils have been individually preparing these documents with input from their communities over the past few years. If they're adopted, they'll sit alongside our own policies to guide planning decisions in these areas. Before this can happen, each has to independently examined and then, as long as the examiner agrees, put to a referendum. Each neighbourhood plan proposes a vision for managing future growth within its parish, as well as policies which reflect the priorities of their communities. Your comments matter as they will show whether you and others in the area agree with these ideas. The examiner will scrutinise the plans based on national requirements and can recommend changes, so it's important that we know now whether you would like to see amendments. Coming from a 9am-6pm full-time job background, we started working with leather after our regular working hours. This required a great deal of enthusiasm and devotion as we needed to spare our own time to work on leather. When we realised our true passion lied on leather, we decided to turn this work into our full-time business. The fact that people loved the products we crafted made that decision easier.

Global Connection Learning Center (GCLC) is a 501c3 nonprofit daycare center providing full-time care for children ages eight weeks to five years. Though our center is open to the general public, we have a special focus on helping teen moms. As long as they remain in school, receive passing grades, have no disciplinary issues, and attend weekly parenting classes then teenage mothers do not have pay any fees. Our founder and director, Nancy Sylvester, was inspired to open GCLC upon retiring after 35 years as a public school counselor. Over the years, she met a staggering number of teen moms who were unable to graduate high school, despite very much wanting to continue their education. As young mothers, they simply didn't have the time or the resources. Nancy wanted to change that. Today, our program offers compassionate, quality care for little ones that enables their mothers to better themselves. Our daycare is staffed with highly experienced caregivers who treat each and every student as their own. Additionally, our team receives annual professional development sessions designed to help them prepare children for kindergarten.
