We have a large selection of affordable pottery suitable for all the family to create your own masterpiece. As some of you know, Pot-Sian was originally located at the 'Green shed' also known as Derw Stores in Caerwedros, which you may recognise from the photos. Unfortunately, we had to close in 2020 due to the pandemic. pottery workshop ceredigionWe are in the process of building a new studio but for the time being, we are offering take-home kits for you to paint in the comfort of your own home. Also, after a successful summer last year, we will again have a comfortable painting studio within a good sized gazebo in our garden! *This will be available during the summer months (unfortunately, it is not available over Easter). The gazebo caters for family-sized groups of up to 8 people. Booking ahead is required. We will have two 3-hour sessions a day to choose from. 10am - 1pm or 2pm - 5pm. These time slots allow us to clean and sanitize the area and equipment between groups. MOBILE POTTERYMobile Pottery Studio Our mobile pottery studio has in the past attended school fairs, various venues for groups, parties, and corporate events. Our aim is to continue this service. As a company, are passionate about working with people to assist them in developing their full potential by using the best methods that suit them, not just lecture to them. Therefore the focus of any of the courses is to assist the candidate in developing their own structured way of thinking, as well as working, when having to deal with problems. We start by finding out what they already know and understand, (whether or not it is related to the course content) then use that knowledge to link to the information that we are working on. Whenever possible we do not answer questions directly, instead we ask them different questions, which guides them to working the answers out for themselves. These methods have proven to be a very effective way of ensuring complete understanding of how to achieve their goal and of the technical information that they will require. We offer a range of different courses covering all aspects of production based maintenance issues from basic training of how to use hand tools, up to Adult Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering Disciplines. We also offer company support services such as competence assessments and certification. We can assist in the setting up and implementation of structured authorisation levels for your staff with regards to maintenance activities (an example is on a following page). For Every Cloud was established by Donna Vale in 2013, a creative venue based in Langport, a small town in the heart of the Somerset levels. Having graduated with a first class honors degree in art and textiles I wanted to create a space where people can learn, have fun, relax and make friends, this is really important but I also wanted an environment where visitors wouldn’t feel overwhelmed. My business mission statement ‘where friendship and creativity meet’ sums up the ethos of what we do at For Every Cloud. A shop and gallery stocking local art and craft features alongside my own. Workshops are held in the gallery space and studio, which is also used to teach screen printing. Both spaces can be hired by tutors and artists alike utilising their skills to teach popular classes such as needle felting. The workshop list is varied and attracts people from as far as London, France and Denmark who come with friends and family to stay in this beautiful part of the country, booking days to make and take… and of course have tea and cake. From experimental textiles to bookbinding, etching with Perspex to calligraphy, there is something here for everyone. I work alongside local B&B’s and cafes to provide an all round experience, offering bespoke events for hen parties, corporate functions and children’s birthdays and more recently, a summer school for adults. As well as workshops I create bespoke calligraphy and stationery for weddings, sublimation printing for personalised gifts. A signmaking service is also available for all your business and personal needs. I live is a lovely Leicestershire village with my three grandchildren and two cats. Life is constantly busy, but every available moment I have you will find me at my desk designing and making, or in my workshop adding the finishing touches to a piece. I love working with glass. It is a medium with endless possibilities, it is unpredictable, sometimes difficult to control but when it works it is just beautiful. I have been working with glass for over five years. If you look at my work it is clear to see that I am inspired by nature, the sea, flora, trees, landscapes, and I bring elements of all of these into my work. I am lucky that I have been able to spend time learning from some inspirational UK glass artists, Claire Hall in Somerset, Laura Hart in Suffolk and Roberta Ayles in Devon. All have passed on different and varied skills that have helped me progress as a glass artist. My signature pieces are my fairy pictures. Each one is individual, each one has a link to nature. Most of these are now commissions and I am always overjoyed when I get asked to make a fairy picture. This year I am beginning to discover other materials to work with including silver clay and enamel on copper. The future may involve me exploring ways of combining the different materials to see what can be produced and achieved. Due to a variety of reasons I have come to art later in life, but in retrospect this is the right time for me, what I do makes me happy, I know I am very lucky to be able to say that. A Dance Artist based in the South West, Sam is passionate about developing exciting and interactive conversations, classes, workshops, and performances. Sam makes uplifting socio-political work with, by and for local communities, inspired by personal stories from people across all ages to grow connections, representation, and a sense of belonging. She collaborates with professional artists and community members aged 8-78+ to create compelling and dynamic storytelling. Sam’s work is athletic, exciting, evocative, sensitive and relevant. Sam Gilroy has interviewed women from Southampton for the F WORDZ Podcast, talking about feminism, failure, freedom, fierce and f***. The F WORDZ Podcast is supported by Hampshire Archives Trust. Our project vision is to create vibrant local, regional and European learning communities, fuelled by Regional Learning Facilitators. We need new organisational concepts and ownership of issues and concerns from the crowd. Our approach lies in analog and digital networking and support structures that take into account the value of informal networks. The key message of the project is: “When we share, we win”. By learning communities, we mean forms of exchange and cooperation organised by ourselves or supported by the community, which ideally are supported by the involvement of education authorities. The Learning Communities deal with solutions to upcoming problems in everyday education, with challenges of the education system at different system levels, with the creation, exchange and further development of teaching materials, etc. The Learning Communities are also involved in the development of new teaching materials and in the development of new teaching methods. As concrete project goals, we see: the training of 24 Regional Learning Community Facilitators at least 12 Regional Learning Communities in 4 European countries the creation of a European cross-border learning community with at least 48 active members The development of a Learning Community Facilitator Curriculum, which will later become a standard KA1 workshop offer. the development of an AI-supported passive networking platform for teachers and school stakeholders to test a further development option for eTwinning that currently relies only on active search functions Our target group is teachers and their reference system. Our aim is to indirectly support the work of the teachers and to facilitate their planning, implementation and follow-up of their lessons by focusing on the principles of cooperation and exchange. Through active networking, but also by pointing out connection possibilities, teachers should no longer have the feeling of being alone in the corridor but embedded in a professional system that also brings them more self-confidence and self-efficacy.
