BEMIS is the national umbrella body supporting the development of the Ethnic Minorities Voluntary Sector in Scotland. BEMIS was established in 2001 to promote the interest of minority ethnic voluntary organisations, develop capacity and support inclusion and integration of ethnic minorities communities. It is a member-led and managed organisation with an elected board of directors. The major aims and objectives of BEMIS are to represent and support the development of the ethnic minority voluntary sector across Scotland, and to support the diverse communities and individuals that this sector represents, especially those who are under- represented and disadvantaged. BEMIS aims to address inequalities by empowering communities, working towards an inclusive society by establishing structures, which recognise diversity and empowers ethnic minorities, and ensuring that they are fully recognised and supported as a valued part of the Scottish multicultural civic society. Initial Key aims and objectives: To strengthen the capacity of the ethnic minorities voluntary sector. Raise the profile of the ethnic minorities’ voluntary sector and its needs at strategic, local and national levels. Have a coordinating role for the voice of the ethnic minorities’ voluntary sector, ensuring pertinent issues are raised with the relevant bodies. To take a lead on policy issues and debate which are of concern to minority ethnic communities at both local and national levels. Work in partnership with all stakeholders and the diverse Ethnic Minorities communities in support of equality and a multicultural Scotland. Key Strengths Of BEMIS as identified in the HMIE review: a highly committed board of directors and staff who brought with them a good range of professional skills and a clear understanding of their responsibilities; the organisation had been successful in uniting a diverse range of stakeholders; BEMIS was highly valued by stakeholders and was making a positive impact on individuals, organisations and communities; strong commitment to inclusion and diversity; and strong commitment to ensuring grass roots organisations have a voice rather than acting as a spokesperson for EM communities. The above is complemented by the following notions stated by HMIE: A sector leading organisation/ excellent rating. BEMIS made a significant difference in local communities and to the organisations it supported. 93.6 % of questionnaire respondents rated the overall service provided by BEMIS as good to excellent Active involvement in research work with other organisations [which] enhanced understanding and removed barriers to BME involvement in local and national democracy Organisational efficiency and effectiveness for stakeholder organisations had been improved BEMIS gives grass roots a voice rather than acting as mouthpiece for EM communities BEMIS had been instrumental in securing a significant increase in the EM responses to consultation processes making effective use of its network both nationally and across a diverse range of ethnic communities/ BEMIS was making a positive contribution to policy development and had been instrumental in ensuring …‘engagement’… directly with EM organisations/ BEMIS had a strong track record of consulting its target communities, identifying needs and responding quickly with programmes and projects. Their commitment to capacity building ensured that local projects were self sustaining and no longer required significant support from BEMIS staff The comprehensive range of accredited training opportunities offered including a BA in community regeneration and HNC working in communities ensured EM people in local communities had the skills to better engage with local structures and partnerships Managers and staff at BEMIS were highly motivated, energetic and committed to the purpose of their work. They worked very effectively as a team, providing high levels of mutual support. The very strong commitment of BEMIS to diversity and inclusion was reflected in its diverse membership. Participants in the professional development courses came from a range of ethnic backgrounds The organisation had made very good efforts to target specific communities with its work, and to involve them in its management the organisation was not fully capitalising on its excellent work. It should develop better means to communicate and celebrate its successes so as to raise its profile. There is a strong commitment at both board and staff level to ensure that the diverse voluntary sector and communities this sector represents are fully recognised and supported as a valued part of civic society and a multicultural Scotland. BEMIS enjoys a high proportion of fundamental Strengths that are essential for the development and delivery of our role and remit. The opportunities for developing and delivering our strategies and objectives are ample and remain to be explored and exploited to the full in support of the diverse EMVS as well as government policies and initiatives around equality and social justice. Within the above context, BEMIS has and continue to be a major partner in supporting the equality agenda in Scotland and in supporting the diverse communities within the framework of equality, diversity and a cohesive multicultural Scotland. We envisage this role to be enhanced and promoted enabling us to function and deliver at several levels in empowering the diverse EM voluntary sector and the communities this sector represents as well as assisting national policies and objectives of the government in their endeavour to promote an equal multicultural Scotland.

Kelta Fit is the brain child of Ceilidh Club founder Ed McCabe and Licence to Ceilidh’s Ali Barnes, but we needed a bit of help along the way! Here’s a bit more about the Kelta Fit team: Kelta Fit Team Ed McCabe – Kelta Fit Co-Founder: Ed is also the founder of the hugely popular Ceilidh Club in London. It started in 1998 with a handful of friends and family and has now grown into something bigger with hundreds of people attending the (almost) weekly events. Ed has always been into fitness and it has been a long held dream of his to translate the fun and calorie burning aspects of a Ceilidh into something people can do at home or in a class. Ali Barnes – Kelta Fit Co-founder / Choreographer: Ali studied dance from a young age and has been attending ceilidhs regularly since childhood. She has been playing Fiddle in ceilidh and folk bands for almost 10 years and is also an experienced ceilidh dance caller. Ali joined Licence to Ceilidh around 5 years ago and very quickly went on to co-run the band alongside Philippe as well as continuing to play in it. Together they’ve transformed the band into what it is today, taking it to new levels never heard of before for a ceilidh band including numerous TV performances and industry awards. Philippe Barnes – Kelta Fit Musical Director: Philippe also co-runs Licence to Ceilidh and his extensive ceilidh and musical experience made him the perfect man in the Kelta Fit team to create the soundtrack! Philippe has a 1st class honors, MA in Irish Traditional Music Performance and has toured all over Europe, America & Australia with the David Munnelly Band and Celtic Jazz-fusion group All Jigged Out. He’s a three-time runner up in the BBC Young Folk Awards and his TV and recording credits include MTV, The Discovery Channel, ITV, TG4, BBC Scotland, BBC Radio 2, 3 & 4 and feature films including ‘The Imposter”, “Fraternity” and “Dark Horse”. Francesca Leyland – Kelta Fit Instructor / Choreographer: Francesca is a talented actress and dancer from Lerwick on the Shetland Isles. She has a background in highland dance and in her teens studied at the Dance School of Scotland in Glasgow where she gained an A.T.C.L diploma from Trinity College London, before later going on to gain a BA Hons Degree in Musical Theatre from Arts Educations School in London. Her past show credits include Les Misrables (West End) and The Bakers Wife. She is a popular dance teacher in Sussex and is also a caller with Licence to Ceilidh, performing with the band every week teaching ceilidh dances to crowds of willing punters! Frances Crawford – Fitness Consultant: Frances is an experienced nutritionist and personal trainer based in Florida, USA. She is a certified gym instructor in the UK with Future Fit and a certified personal trainer in the USA with the National Association of Sports Medicine. She also has qualifications in Sports Nutrition and Weight Management with the America Council of Exercise and is about to embark on her first NPC Fitness Competition! Cat Perry – Instructor Trainer: Cat is an Edinburgh-born and based Dance and Fitness Instructor with her own Teaching Company – Dance Division. Cat is a qualified Dance Teacher and Aerobics Instructor with lots of knowledge and expertise in the industy as well as experience in training and mentoring others. Cat has run her own Dance and Fitness teaching company since 2007. She holds dance and fitness qualifications and has a wealth of hands-on experience and knowledge. Cat has trained and mentored a wide range of people, developing many training courses, CPD training and delivers Sports and Dance qualifications. Lisa – Backing Dancer: Lisa is a Scottish lass originally from Dundee, she also Studied at the Dance School of Scotland before moving on to the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, graduating with a first class honors degree. Her past show credits include Jackie the Musical and Bugle Boy (UK tour). Lisa is also a ceilidh dance caller with Licence to Ceilidh! Waylon – Backing Dancer Hailing from the west of England, Waylon studied at the Arts Educational College in London and his past show credits include Riverdance (Dublin), The Lion King (West End) and We Will Rock You (World Area Tour & UK West End). Ceilidh Club: Ceilidh Club is a vastly popular evening of fun Scottish dancing, held regularly in Camden, London, UK. It attracts attendees from all over the globe and the evenings are regularly sold out! Playing host to some of the UK’s best ceilidh bands, it’s a great way to get a taste of Scotland in London! Licence to Ceilidh: Licence to Ceilidh are a world renowned ceilidh band with 14 years experience in playing all types of events, from weddings to birthdays parties, charity and corporate evenings… The band specialise in a modern style of Scottish ceilidh, incorporating traditional tunes and dances with a modern, funky rhythm section. After I eventually graduated, I landed my dream job as a conference producer. I was over the moon! This even blossomed into a rewarding career over several years. Even though I loved my job, I noticed the company I worked for had started to change. The new management was driving many talented people I respected out, and their values started to really diverge from my own. I still loved the CEO, and to my surprise, when I handed in my notice, she gave me a rather lovely present. My CEO asked me to launch a cosmetic product business she had been working on for a while. Even though I had no direct experience in this industry, she trusted in my abilities and shattered a long-standing belief that I could only work in one industry or for other people. I started to believe in myself. I now felt I could run my own business. I just wished I had discovered this belief earlier, and later discovered through the extensive training I completed in becoming a coach, that you can set these empowering beliefs yourself with the right coach! I decided to finally scratch my travel itch and embark on a journey around the world with no set end date. I travelled for 18 months, and realized that there was so much more to life than staying in an office in London. After sipping Caiprinhas in Rio, skydiving in Buenos Aires, trekking table-top mountains and waterfalls across Venezuela, hot air ballooning over Turkey and Ukraine, and experiencing the long summer nights with friendly locals across Scandinavia, I didn’t want to come back. Who would? After working on a 6 month contract for my previous CEO to recover some of that money I spent travelling, the belief within me that I could do my own thing was still strong. So I invested in courses on ways to make money myself, including a year-long real estate investment course. After investing in some real estate myself, I ended up working with a property developer as it was a chance to learn how to find and secure bigger developments and deals, which was a way to build long-term wealth and more passive income. But I absolutely HATED (no that’s not strong enough a word) working with the people and all the values they stood for. It was purely for money. After a few months, I realized how lonely and unhappy I was. My life really was out of balance. Eventually I became quite depressed and felt lost, so I decided to hire a NLP coach who specialized in career transition. I remember so vividly one of the powerful tools she coached with me in particular made me realize I was not living as the person I was born to be. I looked at myself objectively as a character in a movie. This guy Matt I was seeing was hunched over his home office desk, all alone, looking outside into his garden watching the rain. I realized that Matt was a social, fun and confident guy. He was not using his natural talents and far from an environment that made him thrive. It was like watching a bird screaming to get out of a tiny cage. It was not right – I had to let him free. After this coaching, a friend recommended me to his boss for a sales role I would have ordinarily pass off had it not been for this insight through coaching. I got the job and thrived in sales, breaking various team and company records in my first year. But I wanted more: to travel much more, take care of my health, find balance and do my own thing again. So I invested in a personal coach for 12 months, who motivated me to take big decisions. I left the UK in August 2017 for Australia and then Asia. Inspired after the powerful NLP coaching I had experienced, I planned several NLP retreats and trainings to become a trainer just for my own personal development. Through various business and career transitions, and observing the structures that worked for me and my coaching clients, I realized any life transition that was sustainable had to have three magic elements: Passion, Purpose and Balance. On top of the extensive coaching training I had, I decided to interview a series of people who have made the journey from feeling bored and burnt out in their career, to transitioning to a life of balance, passion and purpose in brand new fields. I noticed patterns in all of these stories that lead to developing my own unique coaching model for career transition. I call this to ‘Burn From Within’. St Kevin’s College is an all boy’s secondary school under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust and is located in the heart of the Ballygall community on Ballygall Road East, Finglas, Dublin 11 where it has served the community in education since 1967. The school currently has an enrolment of 528 students. We provide a wide range of subjects which are expertly taught by a team of highly dedicated teachers who work diligently both inside and outside the classroom. INFORMATION ON THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES Unless provided otherwise, the products and services which are presented to you do not constitute a sale offer but a general presentation of the range of products and services that we distribute in the country in which this site is published. THE ONLINE SHOP – Gin Sales Bottle prices shown on this website are in British Pounds, inclusive of UK duty and VAT (Value Added Tax) and exclude delivery costs. No goods are offered for sale at this site to any person who is below the legal drinking age in the country in which they are resident or any person resident in a country where such sale would be contrary to local law. By placing an order through our site, you warrant that you are of a lawful age. If you are buying products as a gift, the recipient must also be of a lawful age. This is the responsibility of the purchaser. If our couriers are in any doubt about the age of the recipient on delivery, they may request some form of ID. After placing an order, you will receive an e-mail from us acknowledging that we have received your order. Please note that this does not mean that your order has been accepted. Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy a product. All orders are subject to acceptance by us, and we will confirm such acceptance to you by sending you an e-mail that confirms that the product has been despatched. The contract between us will only be formed when we send you the Despatch Confirmation. The Contract will relate only to those products whose despatch we have confirmed in the Despatch Confirmation. We despatch orders Monday to Friday and all orders received before 1pm are despatched the same day. Orders received after 1pm are despatched the next working day. Our Shipping information, including costs, can be found in the SHIPPING section of the site. Delivery of our products will be made to the address provided by you at the time of placing your order. Our customers’ satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us, and we take exceptional care in the manufacturing, packaging and delivery of our products. Customers should promptly inspect goods delivered to them to satisfy themselves that any goods delivered to them are as expected. Please note that you may be asked to show proof of age upon delivery of your order. RETURNS The courier must be informed of breakages or shortages at the time of delivery. We may not (at our sole discretion) accept any claims for breakages or shortages unless they are stated on the couriers documentation. We must have confirmation of these breakages or shortages within 48 hours of delivery. Photographic evidence is required by our carrier company if an item has been damaged during transit. To request a full refund or exchange, please notify us by email to info@crossbillgin.com within 48 hours of delivery. Please state whether you would like a full refund or exchange and quote your order confirmation number, the product name, a photo of the damage, your full name, email address, phone number and delivery address. Only unopened products that are in the original packaging will be eligible for refund or exchange. Approved refunds will be credited to the payment card/PayPal account used during the original transaction within 30 days and will exclude shipping costs. We recommend that items are returned to us via a recorded delivery service to ensure that they are protected and insured during transit. If you fail to meet these terms and conditions, the product will be returned to you and you will not receive a refund nor be eligible for an exchange. DISCLAIMER All products are stress tested before despatch. Products are sensitive to elements of extreme heat where glass and corks may fail. Products should be stored at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. All coloured products use natural ingredients and may fade or change overtime. THE ONLINE SHOP - Gin School Purchasing Options explained TO BUY A TICKET AND BOOK A DATE. This option should be used if you know the date you wish to book at the same time as purchasing a ticket. By following the link, you will be taken to the booking screen where you will choose the date then will be directed to complete your information then onto making a payment. TO REDEEM A GIFT VOUCHER AND BOOK A DATE. This option should be used if you have previously purchased or been gifted a voucher. By following the link, you will be taken to the booking screen where you will choose the date then will be directed to complete your information and redeem your voucher using the order number on the voucher. TO BUY A GIFT VOUCHER TO BE REDEEMED LATER. If you do not know the date you would like to book or if you wish to purchase a voucher to be given as a gift, you should ADD TO CART. This will then bypass the booking screen and will direct you to the checkout screen where you will complete your information then onto making a payment. By purchasing or booking a course you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions. Voucher Delivery – When purchasing a Gin School Experience, an e-voucher will be generated and sent to the provided email address within 24 hours. You will also receive a Gift Voucher by post. Refund Policy – The Gin School operates a strict 14-day refund policy from the date of purchase. Notification must be made in writing to info@crossbillgin.com and must be accompanied by the unused voucher and proof of payment. Cancellations and Postponements – A minimum of 14 days’ notice is required prior to your appointment to reschedule a booking and will incur a £10.00 administration fee. In the unlikely event that the Company has to cancel a Gin School Masterclass, the Company undertakes to offer a suitable alternative date or a full refund of any course fees. Vouchers – Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods. Vouchers are transferable, so if you are unable to attend yourself, you may nominate a replacement. Vouchers expire 12 months from the date of issue and extensions beyond 12 months are not available under any circumstances. Course Alterations –The Company reserves the right to make minor changes to the format and content of the Gin School Masterclasses, to improve the experience, without notice. Age Restriction – You must be over 21 years of age to attend a Masterclass and those that appear under 25 years will be asked for proof of age upon arrival. Samples – A limited quantity of tasting samples will be offered during the Gin School Masterclass and are included in the cost of the voucher. Health and Safety Liability – You will be given a briefing on health and safety prior to the session commencing. All participants are expected to listen carefully and follow instructions given. Participants should take reasonable care in the Gin School to avoid personal injury and/or injury to others. Standard of Behaviour – We will refuse to admit you to the premises if you appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of prohibited narcotic substances upon your arrival. You are expected to behave sensibly and appropriately at all times and may be required to leave the premises if for any reason the Company or others are unhappy with your behaviour. We reserve the right to refuse the sampling of alcohol under the terms of the licensing act Washroom Facilities – The primary function of the premises is a distillery and the site offers limited toilet facilities with restricted access. Alternative toilet facilities with full disabled access are however available across the covered courtyard. Special Needs – Your comfort and wellbeing are of the utmost importance to us, please therefore inform us prior to our accepting the booking of any medical condition or physical impediment about which we would need to be aware in order to eliminate or anticipate any potential health and safety issue Special Dietary Requirements/ Allergies/ Disabilities – We cannot adjust courses for special dietary requirements unless previously agreed. If you have any allergies, please contact us in advance to discuss your requirements. There may be traces of nuts or other ingredients and if you have an allergy you attend at your own risk.
