Dance Concepts (Lichfield) - Ballroom and Latin

dance concepts (lichfield) - ballroom and latin

London

Dance Concepts started in 2011, Through our time as dancers, we have seen many dance schools and dancers of all levels that love to dance for many different reasons. Since the start of Strictly Come Dancing, ballroom and Latin American has become very popular and the number of people wanting to dance today is huge. At the same time, dance fitness has crazed the country with Zumba. We feel that now is a great time for dance and through our experience can enable everyone no matter how young or old, coordinated or uncoordinated to exoerience and have the opportunity to dance. UK fitness has deteriorated over the last decade for many different reasons, so the sideline benefit to dance and fitness with Dance Concepts is that by making fitness reasonable and regular we can do our bit to help the UK get fit again. Our Vision. Britain started the tradition of Ballroom and Latin American Dancing with all the Champions up to the late 1990’s being born and trained in England. Today, British dancing has slightly lost it’s advance over the rest of the World, with very few truly British couples achieving the great heights in the dance world today. We have been very fortunate and worked hard to represent England all over the world and achieving the highest standards of dance. We want to pass this on to our couples and understand that the dancing world is hugely expensive, so if we can help the younger generation acheive the top of the dance world, we will! Dancing in Pink Fashion Photo Dance Concepts Enjoy the Dance Experience... Join us at Dance Concepts for a variety of dance experiences from social classes to high level competitive dancing. Our aim is to create an entertaining environment for you to learn, what ever your age or ability everyone can learn to dance, it’s about finding the right key. Safe For All

safe for all

London

Safe for All was formed by Anita August who has worked with disadvantaged groups in East London, both as a trainer and manager of a community project for over 13 years. Anita became aware of the significant impact that accredited training in First Aid and Health and Safety had on the employability and life skills of disadvantaged groups. Over the past four years (2006-2010) our senior trainers have been working in partnership with the College of North East London to deliver Health and Safety training to Haringey employees at all levels who are involved in delivering and managing front line services in Adult Social Care, including managers and employees of residential projects for adults with dementia, severe learning difficulties and mental health problems. The training has been extended to also deliver to services delivering childcare facilities including, nurseries, schools and childminders. Safe for All also specialises in delivering training to the Hospitality and Leisure Industries, Schools and Nurseries, Voluntary and Community Organisations, Social Enterprises and is expanding in to the Construction industry and Corporate Sector. Safe for All only uses qualified instructors who have a wealth of experience and knowledge gained from working in an operational Health and Safety and First Aid background, for example, Nurses, Lifeguards, Environmental Health Officers, Health & Safety Representatives and the Emergency Services. All associates have to demonstrate their competence through rigorous assessment of their training. All training associates are CRB checked. Safe for All’s Directors are professionals with extensive experience of managing private, public and third sector organisations and empowering disadvantaged people and communities in London. The Directors and training associates are committed to creating a more inclusive society and enabling everyone to access First Aid and Health and Safety training regardless of circumstance. Anita also identified a lack of affordable training provision and training resources for people with disabilities. Community groups she worked with encouraged her to make her services as widely available as possible. Hence Safe for All was born. Safe for All was formed with a vision to increase the availability of such training and is 50 per cent governed by people with disabilities.

Deborah Harrison Sculpture

deborah harrison sculpture

Gloucester

Deborah was born in Yorkshire. She is an award winning contemporary sculptor who specialises in stone. She discovered stone carving in her middle years in the Greenbelt Festival craft tent. Later she went on to study Fine Art and do a years diploma in stone masonry after which she turned professional after the death of her mother in 2015. Her first sculpture teacher said stone was a perfect option as it limited the numerous creative choices she could make as she is led by the stone, using the technique called carving direct, following it’s grain, form and colour. She lives with the rocks until she sees the shape within, then carves until she reaches a skin and the sculpture takes on a life of it’s own. Her works are a unique combination of figurative and abstract forms. Deborah is best known for her alabaster sculptures and also carves in marble and limestones. Deborah seeks convergence between the characteristics of the stone, her growing carving skills and her faith. Carving with hands, head and heart to impute emotion and presence into her pieces. Notable sales have been to the NHS Trust with ‘The Hand of Fannie Storr’ a previous director of nursing, to Sir Malcolm Evans the Chair of the United Nations Anti-Torture Subcommittee, a luxury spa hotel in Portugal and CEO of a large company in the USA. Deborah won the Ashburner Sculpture Prize 2022 for her Stone Totem which was about Connectivity (see website page). Previously in 2020 she received the Sculpture Award and Guest Judges Award with the SWAC, was the winner of the Christian Arts Festival Award, selected for the RWA 168th exhibition and was also a finalist for the Chaiya Arts Awards (exhibited in the London South Bank’s Oxo Gallery). In 2019 she was a finalist for the online Covid-19 IMPACT exhibition. Deborah enjoys working collaboratively with organisations to raise access to the arts in the community. Her work was the basis of the Matson Sculpture festival where she gave workshops in local schools and talks to the community. Her work was part of a charity auction to raise funds for refugees. Deborah is based at Gloucester City Works who are based in an old shirt factory where she leads carving courses for all levels of ability and experience. She welcomes commissions for indoor and outdoor sculptures, for public and private clients.
