From the moment I stepped into Dyson Perrins I was struck by both the excellent relationships between staff and students and the positive climate for learning. I am immensely proud to have joined the school as Headteacher in September 2018. Academic excellence and students’ personal growth are equally important to us. Dyson Perrins has a strong sense of community, a desire to support and nurture individuals, and a commitment to challenging students to fulfil their potential. We expect students to show respect, be kind and work hard. The school has seen rapid improvements over recent years and has established a strong reputation within the local community. Year groups in the lower school are now close to being over-subscribed and the school is growing rapidly.

Tricia Johnson is an artist working across an extensive variety of arts disciplines. She studied Art & Design in the Midlands before moving to the Sussex coast and gaining a B.A. (Hons) Degree. She then went on to achieve various teaching qualifications. She enjoys the challenge and exploration found in absorbing new methods and processes. This has enabled her over the past 20 years to teach a wide variety of art courses across West Sussex. Her sculpture work featured nationally on ITV’s morning programme and exhibitions include West Dean College and Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, West Sussex. She also had the privilege of exhibiting her work in the Awagami International Miniature Print Exhibition, Tokushima, Japan. Along with exhibitions at; Banks Mill Studios Derby, The Art House Wakefield, neo: Gallery Bolton, Gallery@OXO Oxo Tower Wharf South Bank London, Hong Kong Baptist University Hong Kong and Cube gallery Moscow. After a period focusing on other disciplines, Tricia returned to printmaking and the joy of the process is what pushes her work forward creatively. Learning different printing methods has helped her to begin experimenting with distinctive approaches to her prints and printing style. Tricia continues to enjoy drawing and working painterly with a variety of mixed media, developing her own instinctive style over many other art disciplines.

Learn more about yoga and holistic health classes that are currently available with Michelle Cheesbrough, Whole Health PathwaysExploring yoga and Holistic Health through my own practice, teaching others and undertaking continuous study, enables me to bring insights and understanding of the whole-body approach to movement into my teaching. Over 21 years I have had the joy and privilege to teach yoga to many people of all ages and stages in life from pregnant women, parents and their babies, children, teenagers through to elderly people. As a Yoga therapist and Health/Wellness Coach I have worked on a 1-1 basis and with groups to assist people with chronic health conditions. I designed and taught the British Wheel of Yoga Module for Qualified teachers to teach children and teenagers. It has been and continues to be a wonderful journey to witness people benefitting from Yoga practices.

I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to take up the mantle of Headteacher at Tewkesbury School. When I first visited the school and the town back in 2021, I was struck by the community feel, the passion for the town and the dedication of the staff team for all the young people. I distinctly remember the pride with which the student guides spoke of the school and of their community and the ambition the team at Tewkesbury School had for every student. This will be my second Headship in the South West and my 20th year in education and I am excited to guide Tewkesbury School through its next phase. Headteachers are custodians of schools on behalf of young people and it will be my privilege to work with the whole community from governors, parents, students, colleagues and primary colleagues to other partners in the town, county and region to make sure Tewkesbury School is strong, effective and serving our children to the best of its ability. The greatest successes come from working together towards a common cause and there is no better cause than the education of the next generations. I am keenly ambitious about our future as a school so will continue the drive towards the highest standards academically and behaviourally whilst still ensuring we remain an inclusive school serving the Tewkesbury community. The educational landscape is shifting and changing at a national, regional and local level yet, despite that, there is nothing more important than making sure our young people are well prepared to step out into the world with confidence and understanding as a result of great teaching and a broad range of experiences. Everything I do will link back to preparing our young people to be successful in their next steps in life. I have a passion for education! After 20 years experience working with pupils in the public and private sectors, including my own children, I know what works. And the glowing reviews I regularly receive from parents prove that I am getting it right! A Star Tuition Group evolved from my own experience when my boys started school. It quickly became apparent that they needed more than school alone could provide. Ben and Mathew attended a high-performing primary school and as a parent, I felt under enormous pressure to ensure that they were not just happy, but also thriving in the classroom. Being a teacher, I was able to provide the extra support the boys needed – not just with homework, but also by taking them onto the next level when they were ready. The results were so impressive that I was asked to teach a neighbour’s daughter. Her father was delighted with the progress she made in such a short time, so he recommended me to his friend. Within a few months, further recommendations resulted in a steady flow of pupils who all needed that extra boost in order to thrive at school… A Star Tuition Group was born! 11+ 11 plus test exam tuition Ramsbottom Since then I have taught hundreds of children with outstanding results. Furthermore, A Star Tuition Group continues to grow – I have a fantastic team of teachers, working alongside me, delivering high-quality English, maths, science & languages support. I am very excited about this because now we can help even more 15 to 18 year-olds, who are anxious about upcoming exams, but cannot get the support they need from their schools. In 2019, A Star Tuition Group was crowned the ‘Best Tuition Group in Manchester’ in Corporate Livewire’s ‘Prestige of Manchester Awards. Furthermore, in 2022, we won the accolade of ‘Best Tuition Group in the North West’!
