Floreo Associates [https://www.floreophlebotomy.co.uk/] was founded by a team with over 30 years of shared experience in Further Education, Vocational Training and International Consultancy. The company provides human capital development services for domestic and overseas clients with a variety of backgrounds and upcoming professional challenges.  This often includes, but is not limited to, group training of individuals from private and public sector settings who play an important role in the national development of human capital and institutional capacity. Floreo engages closely with a wide network of UK-based consultants, independent trainers and HR institutions to develop training solutions for both institutional and individual clients. Our projects cover the design and delivery of bespoke programmes matching specific requirements, as well as off-the-shelf courses in practical, contemporary and economically-relevant skill areas. As a field in which human capital and professional expertise have particularly important communal consequences, healthcare is one of Floreo’s key training areas. Here our aims are to deliver programmes in vital practical proficiencies for which there are skill-shortages and an underprovision or lack of accessibility to training for those outside of a public healthcare system. Our phlebotomy courses are directed by Dr R. Khalil MMed FAMS FRCOG [http://www.floreo.co.uk/team], Principal Consultant for Medicine, Healthcare & Clinical Skills at Floreo Associates. In addition to a prolific research career and numerous leadership roles within the NHS, Dr Khalil has extensive experience in healthcare training and has been involved for many years in the teaching and training of doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals in the UK and overseas. WHAT WE DO Our company staff and sector-specific consultants come together to deliver bespoke and off-the-shelf vocational training programmes. We support clients in becoming active contributors to the development of local and national human capital. WHO WE WORK WITH Collaborating with a range of government entities, multinational corporations, charitable bodies and aspiring individuals from around the world, we provide clients with access to the latest vocational expertise across multiple training areas. WHERE WE WANT TO BE Our work remains grounded in far-reaching optimism. Whether seeking to promote personal, organisational or national prosperity, we team up with clients in the hope of preparing them to navigate their own path to a brighter future.

FGM Specialist Network

fgm specialist network

In 2013, the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and our partners (Community Practitioners and Health Visitors Association (CPHVA), Royal College of Nursing (RCN), Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG), Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health (RCPCH), Human Rights Organisations such as Equality Now, FORWARD and other charities, activists and survivors) came together to produce the Intercollegiate Recommendations for identifying, Recording and Reporting in the UK which formed the basis for government actions to End FGM. Since then, we continue to work with our partners to lobby the government for services and support for survivors of FGM, raise public awareness and advocate for training and support for health and social care professionals and those who work with women and children. Some of these initiatives aim to support health professionals and build links with communities where FGM is practised, so that we can highlight the health and psychological impact of FGM. They also include training such as e-learning modules, and a variety of FGM related resources and tools specifically aimed at Specialist Midwives. With funding from the Department of Health and NHS England, we have jointly developed this discrete e-platform aimed at Specialist FGM Midwives, doctors, health visitors, nurses, students and relevant health and social care professionals, as a means of creating a virtual forum of support where relevant resources can be accessed, including links to appropriate data on FGM. The e-network would also act as a confidential platform for discussion of issues or specific problems, and for sharing information and best practice in a safe space There are also discussion groups available to non-health professionals involved in the campaign against FGM. It is hoped that members would come together at least once a year for a conference or workshop. Why you should be a member Membership of the e-platform enables you to be part of a virtual community of health and social care professionals, working to support girls and women at risk of FGM, gives you access to evidence abased resources and experts. You will be part of the discussion groups and can participate in subject matter discussions, share your expertise and information. Seek help and support and gain access to tools and learning resources. Once a year, you will be able to present your work at the annual event and be part of a larger strategic network

The Feminine Principle

the feminine principle

Cardigan

We all come from woman, from a mother, and yet woman and mother in today’s sense of the word have become so mired in a sense of who we ‘should’ be rather than who we truly are. Who is at the heart of ‘woman’ and ‘mother’, has been the centre of my attention for as long as I can remember. Having been born to a single 19-yr-old young woman in the 70’s, who suffered greatly bringing me into the world, and had to face the uncompromising prejudice of her status in the eyes of society and the health professionals who were supposed to offer care and support for us both. Two years later, she would choose to give me up for adoption, a decision which created a rupture in her relationship with her own mother, my maternal grandmother, who fought for legal custody of me to save me from a life in care. What behaviour and belief system drove this decision for both women, as individuals as part of the collective? What made one woman choose a different life separate from her child, while another dedicated her whole life to me? Who am I between these two generations of the motherline, and how do I reveal, heal and integrate the internal conflicts that arose for me as a woman and a mother within them? These have been questions that have fuelled my curiosity, desire and a deep longing to understand the hidden threads of the feminine that connect us all and define and shape the relationship we have with ourselves, others and our beloved planet from past, present and future, across lands, cultures and generations. A journey which has taken me through a BA/BSc in Psychology and Women’s Studies, Esoteric Goddess Wisdom and Matriarchal Cultures, through to the transcendental and metaphysical realms with an intensive 5-yr Shamanic Training, and an experiential path of Homoeopathy and Astrology that opened the deep cavernous space within me to explore the soul’s journey and the invisible threads that create our human nature.
