Which? and The Student Room have worked together to ensure that valuable content from the award-winning Which? University website could continue to be easily available to students, parents and teachers. From 3 February 2020, the course and university search tools and much of the independent expert advice developed by Which? to help students make informed choices is now owned and operated by The Student Room, as The Uni Guide. The site retains its design and the key student-facing services. It also maintains the Which? University ethos of focusing on the needs of the student and delivering the highest quality expert advice and guidance, independently and free of bias. “We are delighted to have found a great new home for much of our excellent university content," says Jenni Allen, Director of Content at Which?. "We chose to work with the Student Room as they share our mission to be a trusted, independent source of information for students. "We are exceptionally proud of the fact that we have helped millions of prospective students and their families make informed choices about all aspects of their higher education over the years, and our agreement with The Student Room ensures that many more will benefit in future.” “As part of The Student Room family, The Uni Guide will allow us to help even more students in their educational journey," says Pete Barnes, managing director of The Student Room. "We will continue to develop the site as a market-leading source of guidance and will be introducing new services to deepen the support we offer to university applicants.” For student finance and other information now available on the Which? site The Uni Guide is a free and unbiased university advice service from the The Student Room, which is based on content that was originally hosted on Which? University. Our mission is to help students make the best possible choices and get the most out of their educational career. The Uni Guide does this through interactive tools, straightforward advice, and key stats (including explaining what these numbers actually mean). This way, you have everything you need to decide with confidence where you want to spend the next three years of your life studying. We can help you… Find a university course: search, sort, compare and shortlist from more than 30,000 full-time and part-time degree courses via UCAS. Match your predicted or actual grades to courses’ entry requirements to narrow down your search. Our course profiles contain full entry requirements, tuition fees, modules and course-content info, and satisfaction ratings from students. Learn more about a university or college: view over 300 university and college profiles to get the latest league-table ranking, comments from current students and more. Match your A-levels to degree course possibilities: enter your subjects into our A-level Explorer to see the full breadth of degree subjects you could study (including ones that weren’t on your radar). If you’re a Year 11 student choosing A-levels, you can use the Explorer to see where different combinations will leave you in two years’ time (particularly useful if you already have a degree subject in mind). Enter the ones you’re mulling over and see whether they’ll lead you down the right path. Get tips and advice at each stage: you don’t have to make the journey to university alone. Read jargon-free advice and guides, including guest posts from external experts (admission tutors and careers advisers) and personal student stories.

With over 25 years’ experience as a therapist and 35 working within the helping professions, I know counselling and psychotherapy works. During this time I have offered counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples, using a combination of the person-centred approach with Transactional Analysis and psychodynamic theoretical models. I believe the client themselves holds the answers to their questions. What I provided was warmth, compassion, respect and a safe space in which they can tell their story: a willingness to share the therapeutic journey and to help them to reach the goals they set. The approaches I used can help the client understand the history of their difficulties, and offer a way forward in terms of restructuring or realigning their perceptions of life, helping them rediscover their drive towards wholeness and health. Although I no longer offer counselling or psychotherapy to clients I bring all my knowledge, skills and experience into my work as a workshop presenter, supervisor and trainer. My focus now is on offering online supervision, undertaking research, continuing to write on topics and run workshops on topics that interest me. I offer training to trainers, both face to face and online. As a supervisor I offer supervision to qualified counsellors and psychotherapists, something I have done since 2002. Supervision can be undertaken individually or in small groups. In addition I am endorsed to teach and supervise Transactional Analysis by the European Association for Transactional Analysis, this means I can teach and supervise supervisors and trainers. As a supervisor of trainers I come with experience of setting up and running a training and therapy centre, of gaining MSc recogition for my courses and running a low cost therapy centre. I know how challenging it can be to meet the many and varied national and international requirements; maintaining personal idiosyncratic preferences; whilst adhering to academic norms; set core competencies; and external organisational requirements that, at times, appear to conflict with one another. As a researcher my most recent project concerned the impact of the death of a child, of any age, on parents and siblings. This has resulted in May 2021 to my second book Understanding Bereaved Parents and Siblings: A Handbook for Professionals, Family and Friends. I run workshops for professionals who want a greater understanding of how they can work with bereaved mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters. Workshops are planned for bereaved parents and siblings later in 2022. In addition I have a specific interest in training courses and training standards. Having completed my DPsych in 2010 and written my first book What You Really Need to Know About Counselling and Psychotherapy Training: An Essential Guide published by Routledge in 2014, I have gone on to continue my research into counselling and psychotherapy training from both the trainees and trainers perspectives. I am passionate about training and training standards and want to work with others who wish to work to the best of their ability with integrity, passion and trustworthiness. If you have any questions, or would like to make an appointment, please email me via this link or call me on 07428 551163 between 10am and 5pm. I do not interrupt sessions to answer the phone, but there is a confidential answering machine; please leave your name, number and any message, and I will call you back.

New Star Driving School

Sheffield

Thank you for visiting our site. We are a Sheffield based driving school, providing a range of affordable driving lessons in Sheffield. We describe ourselves as a 'boutique' driving school which is very much focused on meeting the needs of individual pupils. All the lessons and courses we provide are designed around each individual pupil - we don't believe a one-size-fits-all approach works. Driving lessons can be a nervous experience for many of us, in the early days, there are a lot of issues for us to contend with. As we gain experience and our skills develop, life does become easier behind the wheel. The aim of our teaching style is to teach you to a point beyond the driving test, getting you to try to think and drive like an experienced driver. When you then pass your test and drive on your own, you will find the transition from a learner driver to a full licence holder, a lesser problem! That's what feedback from our previous learners tell us. We hope that by navigating through our website using the menu options on the right hand side, that you are better informed of the choices that are available to you, and the services we can provide. This could either be when going through the process of learning to drive, or building on the skills you have already gained, either as a provisional or full licence holder. Our website will also help you learn more about the services we provide. Please note, you're buying a service from your driving instructors, although we come back to costs, not all driving instructors are the same.

The Beauty Training Hub

the beauty training hub

London

Working as a Beauty Therapist since leaving school and running a salon of her own, Christine has years of experience in the Beauty industry. Whilst training and managing her staff she realised that she had a passion to train others and raise the standards of training, so she decided to complete her PGCE, and moved on to work as an assessor in college. She did this for 13 years before leaving the college to teach in a private academy (where she worked with Tracy). Here she led the training in various brow and SPMU treatments. As the Head tutor here at The Beauty Hub, Christine teaches the majority of our courses. With her vast experience and knowledge you know you are in safe hands! A few words from Christine - ‘I love teaching and feel that 1:1 tuition delivers the best results possible for my students to make sure they really understand every part of the treatment thoroughly. It is very important to me that when they go back to the salon they feel confident that they can deliver the best possible service to their clients. When we set up the Beauty Training Hub we knew that 1:1 training for all students was a must and it has been more successful than we could’ve imagined. It is our USP as most other training is carried out in a college-style environment. When a student comes to us we feel like a family, it’s a relaxed yet professional environment where everyone feels comfortable. Students come into their own and really thrive and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved.’
