About EIFA EIFA’s philosophy EIFA is an independent, international, secular school providing an English-French bilingual education. Education and Employers is a UK based charity launched in 2009 which aims to“provide young people with the inspiration, motivation, knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to help them achieve their potential”. The charity believes that every young person in our country, wherever they live, whatever their parents or carers’ circumstances, should have the opportunity to meet a diverse range of volunteers and hear first-hand about jobs and the world of work. To help make this happen the charity works with state schools, employers, the national bodies that represent them and a wide range of other partners including the government and third sector organisations. Its flagship service, Inspiring the Future, uses innovative online match-making technology to connect schools and colleges across the country with tens of thousands of volunteers working in different sectors – for free. These volunteers, from a huge range of jobs – from app designers to zoologists, and at all levels – from apprentices to CEOs, have signed up to share their knowledge, experience and enthusiasm about their jobs with young people. The charity’s research has shown that meeting people from the world of work helps to broaden young people’s horizons, raise their aspirations and increase motivation to learn which leads to improvements in attainment. It also helps tackle the ingrained stereotypical views children often have about the jobs people do based on their gender, ethnicity or socio-economic background. People can volunteer from an hour a year in a local primary (Primary Futures) or secondary school to chat informally, either in person or virtually, about their job and career route, take part in career speed networking sessions, give young people careers insights, mock interviews or feedback on CVs. There is also the opportunity to link up with schools for workplace visits, job shadowing, and mentoring. Tens of thousands of volunteers have enabled over two million interactions between volunteers and young people to date. Inspiring Governance launched in 2016 and is funded by the Department for Education. The free matching service connects highly skilled volunteers who wish to become governors or trustees with state schools across England, helping to increase the diversity of governing boards and raise school standards. Education and Employers also undertakes research into the effectiveness of employer engagement in education. It aims to bring together academics, researchers, policymakers and practitioners from around the world to consider what interventions have most impact.

I have been working in he fitness industry for about 12 years and have experience teaching fitness in leisure centres, gyms, schools, care homes and village halls. I am passionate about what I do; I love how exercise makes me feel physically and mentally and I really enjoy sharing this and helping my participants to achieve their fitness goals, whatever they may be. I am qualified in a range of fitness options including Exercise to Music, Gym Instructing, Indoor Cycling, Zumba, Zumba Gold, Aqua Zumba, Kid’s Zumba, Kettlebells, Fitness Pilates, Fitness Pilates for older adults, Level 3 Pilates, Pilates for Orthopaedic Conditions, Chair Based Exercise, BuggyBeat and Children’s Fitness. I love taking new fitness courses and believe passionately that, as fitness professionals, it is important to keep things fresh and continue to learn and update our knowledge and skills, to provide quality fitness experiences for participants. The vast majority of the classes I teach are now online. I love the flexibility this brings my participants and it's the perfect place to bring creativity into my classes. Not hiring halls, means that I can keep costs low for participants and offer a wide range of classes for excellent value for money. Cuddesdon College was established in 1854 by Bishop Samuel Wilberforce, whose vision was for a college independent of any specific Church faction, and with a focus on the discipline of daily prayer and spiritual formation. A merger with Ripon Hall in the 1970s, forming Ripon College Cuddesdon, brought in new resources and fresh thinking, and helped develop a new and open approach to theological study. The incorporation of the Oxford Ministry Course in 2006 (now the Part-time Pathway), the West of England Ministerial Training Course in 2011 (now Cuddesdon Gloucester & Hereford) and the Portsmouth Pathway Cuddesdon in 2015 has enabled the College to offer a wide range of outstanding part-time courses that have been well established for over forty years. From 2014, a partnership with Church Mission Society has enabled us to offer training for Ordained Pioneer Ministers. The Cuddesdon Sisters In 2012, the remaining Sisters from two Anglican religious orders - Communities of St John Baptist and The Good Shepherd - joined the College community, providing a praying presence throughout the year. Sadly, due to the pandemic, they moved in the autumn of 2020 to St Mary's Convent and Nursing Home in Chiswick. We miss them being here greatly but keep in close contact with them. We go a step further than simply ‘awareness raising’ and help you to take positive action. Lisa Whittleton, Director I’ve had an interest in psychology and how we think, feel and behave since long before University, quite possibly shaped by personal experiences growing up with close family / friends affected by mental ill health. My first role after doing a master’s in occupational psychology (after a short stint in recruitment which was very much not for me) was working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant with wounded, injured and sick service personnel to help them transition to a new career. This was totally inspiring and really opened my eyes to the stigmas that exist in workplaces around mental health and disability. I set up Illuminate in November 2013 as I was keen to influence this positively. At the time, we were not having the conversations we are now around mental health, so I recognise we have come a long way…but there is still a way to go to de-stigmatise completely and ensure we are being proactive around the topic so our teams can thrive at work. I love building relationships with our clients to really get to understand their world and the challenges within it to help bring about positive change. Working in this field is a constant reminder of how easy it is to slip into unhelpful habits in terms of looking after my own mental wellbeing and achieving the right ‘work-life’ balance. I do have to work hard to practice what I preach, and don’t always get it right. This is what makes my facilitation real and relatable for you. I am a people person and tend to be the listener, the support and the new perspective for many of my friends. I am all about socialising, and love music festivals and gigs, alongside what I believe is a healthy addiction to Crossfit…and my cat, Mrs Norris.

Having a life-long interest in the countryside, health, well-being, affordability, cruelty-free products and using natural products where possible, I bring the best to my clients by doing the best for the environment in the process. A little about me… I studied rural science at school which I enjoyed as it covered life cycle of native animals, plants and trees, natural habitat, conservation and land management at a basic level, art and history also firm favourites. In my late twenties I decided to return to college to pursue a career in hairdressing and soon to be followed, by a two year course in beauty therapy. My passion for natural source of healing combined with plant extracts and massage therapy was realised. At this point I was working full time in a local beauty salon in Skipton, returning to Craven College to study aromatherapy part time for a further year. After gaining valuable experience in the beauty salon, whilst having a young family I worked part time for Next PLC Skipton. This position built my confidence, varied retail business and social skills, working with amazing colleagues, as a sales adviser occasionally a weekend manager. Moving forward I started my own business as a beauty and holistic therapist treating my clients in their own homes or local businesses. Always interested in building and growing my business, I have further trained in several holistic therapies, which include aromatherapy individual blends. I am also a qualified Tai Chi for Health instructor with my own classes in Skipton, Craven and Keighley, support local community wellbeing organisations providing healthy lifestyle activities. My family, friends and clients have always helped and encourage me with my career choice, offering to be guinea pigs when I have required models for new treatments and accepting my flexible working hours. In the past I offered my expertise as a volunteer complementary therapist, aromatherapy practitioner at the local wellbeing cancer support centre in Skipton. I have also held the volunteer position of chairlady of SWIFT (Support Women Inspiring Friendship Training) a local (Skipton Craven Keighley) small business networking group formally known as WorcNet supporting small businesses, charities, local organisations and groups. Due to the pandemic the networking group no longer exists.

Trent Valley Woodturners are a club of 60+ members who meet on a regular basis to discuss and practice the art of wood turning. The club is based in Kegworth, Leicestershire and is situated next to the Village Hall. The workshop is situated in a brand new purpose built facility which was opened in early May 2015. On the second Wednesday of every month the members are entertained with a demonstration from either a professional wood turner or a club member. Demonstrations take place during the evening between 6.30 to 9 pm and are free for all members to attend. Non members are charged £5 for admission. Spaces are limited so be sure to contact the Secretary before arriving. Club activities include a hands on experience several times each month, where members have access to a variety of lathes and workshop equipment. At these meeting the members have the opportunity to use the club facilities or to just discuss ideas or problems with other people. On the third Wednesday of each month, members have the opportunity to socialise, watch DVD’s and discuss problems over tea and coffee. This is a ‘no turning session between 1.30 – 4.30pm. During the Autumn and Winter months, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, training is given to students new to woodturning. The cost for each 8 week session, 2 hours per night is £64. Due to popular demand training has now been extended to include Friday Mornings, a 8 week course, 3 hours per session costs £96. Anyone interested in joining any of our training classes should contact the Secretary as soon as possible as places are limited. Activities are arranged throughout the year and include all day presentations by professional Woodturners and visits to local wood fairs. At these fairs the members demonstrate their woodturning skills and exhibit some of the items that have been made in the club. Some of these items are sold to the general public and some of the proceeds donated to charity. The club facilities include a variety of lathes and workshop equipment, a library of books/DVDs and a stock of woodturning accessories which include glues, polishes and miscellaneous items. The club has state of the art audio and visual equipment which is used during demonstrations.

When I sat down to formulate the concept of the company, I had a specific target in mind. My vision was to create a genuine one-stop-shop for all forms of industrial computing and control. I had seen other companies attempt to achieve this and fail, so I was determined that my new company would be successful and able to offer a comprehensive range of services from 24/7 support through to full systems design, for Management Information systems – through a full range of Validation Services and in control systems from the smallest PLC to the largest DCS. I knew from my own experience that what was needed was a company that could deliver, had the right attitude and was flexible enough to respond, whatever the customers’ requirements. It had to make the customer the primary concern, and consistently offer the same level of quality and service on all projects, from small upgrades and support contracts to major capital investments. It was from these initial concepts that ITS was formed in 1991. In the years since then a great deal of hard work and effort has been invested by all the staff of ITS. When I look around the company today, I am proud that we have assembled what I consider to be a superb team of staff. Between them, they are capable of achieving everything initially envisaged. I am also encouraged by the fact that they are now driving the company forward, making it not just a place to work but the place to work. In recent years many people have told me that ITS is an organisation with large company ideas, and I regard this as a compliment. Whilst I realise that we must not lose sight of our roots, it seems right that we are aiming for the top, and our plans must reflect that. All our activities are designed to encourage the collaborative thinking and action needed to solve wound and skin challenges We create spaces where professional connections are made, ideas are shared and collaborative action happens. We’re stronger when we work together. That’s why creating on and offline spaces for people working within skin health and wound care to connect is a big part of what we do. Our flagship annual conference is a key event in the tissue viability calendar. It brings together people from across the UK and internationally to share the latest thinking on skin and wound challenges, and connect with peers. It’s a must-attend for anyone interested or working in skin health and wound care. We also helped establish and support the Wounds Research Network (WReN). WReN links research-active individuals and communities with each other and research-active NHS centres in order to increase collaboration within wounds research.
