The Mercury Internet School of Psychological Astrology (MISPA) is devoted to teaching psychological astrology. The aim of MISPA is to provide a high standard of tuition in psychological astrology so that the astrological chart can be sensitively interpreted using modern psychological thought. Our tutors have worked as practicing astrologers, teachers and consultants for many years. Many of the tutors were trained or worked for many years with the Centre for Psychological Astrology (CPA) under Director Liz Greene. Since the CPA decided it no longer wanted to offer any assessment, grade system, or qualification John Green set up MISPA to provide an astrological education to Diploma level for those who do wish to pursue a qualification and to teach psychological astrology to students all over the world. In 2008 Jo met and took refuge with Dharma King Dechan Jeuren – MahaVairocana Buddha, lineage bearer of the Esoteric and LinJi Chan schools in China. She received her Dharma name – Zhi Ling. In April 2015, the MahaAmita Temple was opened by the Mayor of Southend-on-Sea. The only Buddhist Temple in the Borough, Jo was then invited by the Mayor to present the Buddhist flags to him at the Southend Borough Annual General Meeting, which he accepted on behalf of the Borough. In 2016 she was invited to become the Buddhist representative for SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) for the Southend Borough and currently sits on the panel. The Founding Director of the Centre, Jo is an ordained Buddhist teacher and runs meditation and healing sessions weekly and Mindfulness courses monthly. She is a huge advocate of teaching and promoting the benefits of meditation and visits schools, groups and organisations within the local community giving talks and workshops. Her personal philosophy is to be as honest and truthful as possible and specialises in teaching how to open up the heart centre. At COP 24 in Katowice, Poland [November 2018] Harwood Education and UNITAR held a joint press conference to announce a non-financial agreement that would allow Harwood Education to access 5 of UNITAR’s climate change trainings, adapt them for and offer them to teachers for free.These courses still form the foundational training within our Bronze Award. Harwood Education, covered the costs of the video editing, voice overs and supporting documentation, marketing and social media and invested to create a joint portal that could handle the volume of teachers who wanted to take the teacher training. eduCCate Global was launched on Earth Day, April 22, 2019. By the end of that year, 329K teachers in 43 countries had taken and completed the first Climate Change Teacher Training in the world. In November 2019, Melanie Harwood was invited to speak at The Climate Change in Education Conference in Dubai. It was also an opportunity to visit a school there where every teacher was a Certified Climate Change Teacher and to meet key stakeholders in education in the Middle East region. EAQ® - Home of Horse-based Learning and Education EAQ® (Equine Assisted Qualifications) sets and monitors quality standards for its equine assisted learning centres and provides training and qualifications for facilitators and others involved with equine assisted learning. There are a number of EAQ Approved Centres in the UK offering interaction with horses for children, young people and adults leading to nationally-recognised qualifications. Training for Facilitators EAQ offers a number of training programmes for facilitators including the Level 4 Certificate in Facilitating Equine Assisted Learning. The Level 4 Certificate is a national qualification which is regulated in the UK by Ofqual. Training is available for facilitators, horse professionals, tutors, assessors and practitioners of equine assisted learning. Courses run throughout the year. You need to take part in an online Introduction Day before enrolling on the facilitator training. Please check the Events page for the next Introduction Day. Training can be a mix of online and face to face sessions. EAQ Approved Centres EAQ Approved Centres have met quality standards including horse handling, the environment and staff qualifications. Their staff have been specially trained to offer equine assisted learning sessions to individuals and groups from all walks of life. Some centres specialise in certain areas, such as working with children and young people who are excluded from shcool.
