Established in 1987 by Philip Pinel, Storage Equipment Safety Service Ltd (SESS) is the only completely independent, professional, Rack Safety Inspection Company covering the UK, Ireland and Europe. We specialise solely in the consideration of Safety and therefore provide a unique service; each of our rack safety inspectors, throughout our network, has many year’s experience in the storage equipment industry and all our rack safety inspections are carried out in accordance with BS EN 15635:2008. SESS are respected members of the Storage Equipment Manufacturer’s Association (SEMA) and have individual membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Since September 1990 SESS have held the quality standards, formerly BS 5750 Part 2, now ISO 9001:2015 Certificate No FS 10668 and have been successfully re-assessed since. SESS is the only totally independent company in the UK, Ireland and Europe providing rack safety inspections. We have a wide range of clients that include many blue chip companies. Rack Safety Inspections are covered by legislation in the UK under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999. In Ireland, Rack Safety Inspections are covered by legislation under the Safety, Health & Welfare Act 2005. In 1990 SESS was the first company to provide a full range of rack related training courses to the industry. Edge of Play, formed in late 2017, is an online coaching resource, providing football coaches with hundreds of football coaching videos from the grassroots and professional game. Our website is subscription based and features videos from grassroots coaches, elite level clubs, academies and professional players all sharing exciting ideas and insights. The site allows you to link in with your social media profiles to share content with peers, clubs and players. Our vision is to build a global, inclusive, online community of coaches: learning, interacting and creating, together. It is through our work with our clubs, that we have become acutely aware of the challenges facing amateur, semi-pro and even professional coaches. We know that in coaching (like most other jobs) people are always looking for new content to ensure their players remain in love with the game; to keep them engaged, learning, developing, and most importantly having fun. Amplify is a training and development consultancy led by Tom Burke. Founded in 2003, amplify provides services primarily to the voluntary sector with a focus on children and youth issues both in the UK and in the Global South. Tom has an extensive history of personal, professional and voluntary work with children and young people and the wider voluntary sector. From a child involved in youth work and global child rights advocacy, he developed skills and experience as a practitioner and advocate. He can bring this mix of experiences into work as a trainer, writer and consultant. Most recently, Tom was Deputy Chief Executive at Y Care International, the international development agency of the YMCA movement. He led their International Citizen Service youth volunteering programme, safeguarding & security, global youth work, policy & advocacy and financial management. Working part-time this was balanced with a range of freelance projects. Previously, Tom grew up in the youth and child rights movement. As a young activist, he was a member of the steering group of the Child Rights Caucus at the UN Special Session on Children and director of social enterprise ‘Young People Change the World’. He was engaged in local youth participation initiatives creating platforms for young people to be heard or to access services, including in sexual health and children in care. Tom was Chair of Trustees of youth-focussed international development charity Peace Child International. He was previously Senior Policy and Change Officer at the Children’s Rights Alliance for England, where he specialised in children’s participation rights, undertaking policy analysis, Parliamentary lobbying and campaigning for change. Over the past 15 years, he has undertaken consultancy for a range of clients on projects ranging from safeguarding, inclusion, evaluation and research projects, training and direct delivery.

The Berkshire Outdoor Education Trust was founded in 1977/78. The original purpose of the Trust was to locate and operate an Outdoor Education Centre for the use of Berkshire school children. The Trust was started with the active encouragement and support of Berkshire County Council and its then Director of Education, Peter Edwards and the late John Wood Griffiths an officer in the Berkshire Education department. The Trustees raised and borrowed the money to buy an existing centre from Glamorgan County Council in the small settlement of Rhos y Gwaliau in the Snowdonia National Park, close to the market town of Bala. In the early years Berkshire County Council paid the teachers’ salaries and gave an annual grant towards the other teaching equipment that was needed, mainly protective clothing. The Trustees managed the centre, hired and paid the domestic and maintenance staff and settled all other expenses including food and heating costs out of the fees charged to attendees. With teachers’ salaries paid by the LEA the additional amount needed to be charged to pupils was quite modest. Over time, however, the level of subsidy given by the County Council was reduced and when in 1998 the 6 Unitary Councils replaced the County Council the subsidy was phased out completely. In consequence fees had to rise considerably. It was at this point that the Trustees decided to sell the centre to the present owner, who had been a teacher at the centre for some time previously. The trust then invested the proceeds of sale and now use the income to assist the most financially disadvantaged young people in the County enjoy the benefits and experience of time spent in outdoor educational activity.

ABOUT US The St. Neots English Centre is a language school that specialises in UK School Integration and Study Holiday Courses for groups of young learners aged 11 to 17 from across the world. The school is situated in the historic Cambridgeshire Market Town of St. Neots, located close to the famous University City of Cambridge. Our Study Holiday courses last between 1 and 4 weeks and can be tailored to meet your requirements. Students are hosted by local families, receive lessons from TEFL qualified English Teachers on site at our own English Centre premises or in a host school. Students take part in afternoon activities such as ten pin bowling, the local trampoline park and they also have the opportunity to take part in varied social and cultural events including visits to London, Oxford, Cambridge and Peterborough. Our School Integration programme involves students spending time in one of 25+ local secondary schools that we currently partner with. Students are ‘buddied’ with an English student of a similar age and accompany them to lessons. They stay with local families in order to experience the English culture first hand and have the opportunity of weekend visits to cities such as London, Cambridge, Oxford and Stratford Upon Avon. Our school is situated in the historic town of St. Neots in Cambridgeshire and overlooks the Market Square on the main High Street. Located within easy reach of London (45 minute train ride) and the vibrant cities of Cambridge and Peterborough (30 mins coach/train trip). St. Neots offers a variety of shops and a traditional market once a week in the bustling town centre. However, if its peace and tranquillity you seek, the town sits right on the banks of the River Great Ouse and its luscious green parks.

Touch Typing is an essential life skill and we find that children who learn accurately to literally type without looking at their fingers, will save time in producing homework and in exams etc. As experienced Specialist Teachers, we are able to effectively differentiate and individualise touch typing challenges so that all students achieve their potential. Multi-sensory learning, through games and incentives, create a brilliantly fun atmosphere in which children aged 7 upwards, thrive! We have children who want to learn good basic typing skills and those who need this skill in order to type for GCSEs, and A Level exams. Note taking, punctuation skills and real time typing under pressure are also explored with the advanced students. An encouraging, motivating and uplifting environment is created in which children of all learning abilities thrive. We specialise in helping children with dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia and hypermobility as well as for those just want to learn it as a life skill, or for application towards the skill section of the DofE levels. Our testimonies tell of children literally loving the courses to such an extent, that they often come back time and time again, bringing their siblings and friends for follow up courses!
