Dr Iain Lucas is the Chief Officer for the Rowner Community Trust. His role is to ensure the Trust enhance Grange Ward’s community well-being through improving the social, economic, environmental and cultural conditions identified by individuals and their communities as it is essential for them to flourish and fulfil their potential whilst being accountable to the community the Trust serves. Kim Lucas is the Project Coordinator. Kim runs the Gosport Youth Employment Skills (YES) Hub and Employment Access Centre funded by the Department for Works and Pensions and Gosport Borough Council. Victoria Smith runs the marketing (traditional and digital) for the Nimrod Community Centre and Rowner Community Trust. Victoria will be keeping the information on what is going on at the centre up to date and relevant. Carl Parkins is the Well-Being Practitioner for the young people who attend the Gosport YES Hub. Carl will be supporting the young people as they aim to move back into work, education or training. Daniel Brown is the Youth and Community Worker for the YES Hub and will be working alongside Kim and Carl. Daniel will support clients in creating personal plans to set attainable goals in the short term and explore long-term aspirations.

Founded in 1960, Berkshire Community College (BCC) was the first community college established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Today, there are 15 community colleges throughout the state. During its first 12 years, BCC was located in downtown Pittsfield in a former junior high school made available by the city. There, enrollment grew from 153 to 1,222 students.

taibach community library

Hello and welcome to our website. We are a volunteer run community library based in Taibach, Port Talbot. Taibach Library’s roots go back over 100 years, to 1913 when Margam Urban District Council received a grant of £2,500 from the Carnegie Trust for a free circulating library in Taibach. The foundation stone was laid in 1914 and the library opened its doors to the public in 1916. Fast forward nearly 100 years later to May 2014, and the Library was threatened with closure due to local authority cuts. As a result of this, a local group of people came together and formed the Taibach Community Library charity. The library is now run entirely by volunteers, and we rely on the generosity of individuals and local businesses for support. Without that help, we would not be able to serve those in our community as we currently do. The Library continues to play a central role in providing vital opportunities for people, young and old to learn, develop and socialise at the heart of the community. Whilst the traditional book lending remains, our library also offers much more, from regular clubs for children and young people to gather and share their interests to coffee mornings and providing support and access for people of all ages to make the most of everything that the internet has to offer. This year, our goal is to raise £5,000. Every donation that we receive will be spent directly to help us make an important difference to our local community. Whether it goes towards paying our insurance, heating or electricity bill or helping fund the purchase of new equipment, every donor will be acknowledged in our promotional literature and on our community sponsorship board located in the Library itself. There are many different ways that individuals or businesses can donate to us. We can accept cash, cheque or card payments at the Library itself, or we can accept money via bank transfer or Paypal. Unlocking Community Potential CIC knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. In 2018, our Non-Profit Organisation realised that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Unlocking Community Potential CIC. At Unlocking Community Potential CIC we are all about helping those people who are on the margins of society, the long term unemployed, seeking new qualifications to embark on a new pathway to employment or people suffering from mental health issues looking for a way back into society or work. We are a registered training provider running nationally accredited courses, which can be designed specifically catering for individual’s needs. These courses range across many diverse interests and activities including animal care, sports coaching, health and fitness, business admin, floristry, horticulture, art and countryside craft.
