Hello I am Karen Pasi. I have worked for many years as a dance teacher for adults and kids. I have a wealth of experience in teaching many different. I previously ran my own dance studios in Glasgow where we had a full timetable of classes with a team of great teachers. We also had a Cafe/Tapas bar where we ran Cabaret Shows and Dance Showcases with our Students and Professionals alike. In 2019 I felt it was time for a change and closed my studios. Now my focus is still on dance but I have also moved into an area which covers Mind, Body & Soul. I always felt dance touched on all these areas but now with Danceffirmations® I have had the opportunity to hone this class more strongly in that direction. There is a page for each style which I currently teach online and in person - Jazzfunk, Social Ballroom, Danceffirmations®, 10min Transffirm® and Private Lessons For Wedding Dances and small group classes.

I have been teaching for nearly 6 years. For me yoga is about making time and space for healing and healthy ageing. Trying to bring back our bodies to what it was built for - everyday functional movement. Over time, the stresses and strains of growing up/life causes tension, stiffness, injuries and aches. Through yoga, we can try to re-align the body’s natural range and find a way to move fully, with freedom and flow, from adult life through to later years.

I am an energy healer who also uses sound to connect and rebalance peoples’ vibrations and non-physical energy. I found I had the ability to do this after a spiritual awakening in 2014. Since then I have been fortunate enough that my work has taken me all over the world. I am grateful to the people who have contributed to my learning and helped to guide me on my path. I became a healer (guide) after awakening with the use of a plant medicine called Ayahuasca. After 33 sessions over a period of 15 months, I had decided (if not guided) to move away from all plant medicines or anything that would artificially alter my state of consciousness. My path is to now develop my own abilities to raise my frequency and, in doing so, access the same level of healing tools I was able to use whilst in these plant-induced states. Since 2014, the spiritual path has allowed to me work in the USA, CHINA, AFRICA, ASIA, INDIA and EUROPE. The teachings keep coming and the work keeps changing. I have now launched my own course, entitled HEAL YOURSELF. This will also be the basis for future retreats throughout 2021-2022. I have been a video producer and musician for a number of years and I use my skills in media to produce my own digital meditations and video productions that support my spiritual healings and teachings. Sound and frequency are the foundation of my work, from the live music I perform to the personal one-to-one sessions and the group energy work. Everything is frequency and vibration.

Jane trained and worked as a Geography teacher for several years. She then worked for 8 years at Christ Church in Clifton, Bristol, as their Children’s Minister and School Community worker. Jane also runs a Forest School business called SG Forest School. She loves being outdoors and exploring wild places with her husband Andy, friends, family and miniature schnauzer Billy!

It had been strongly suggested at school that I didn’t continue with the sewing classes, after I cut my skirt along the fold line of the pattern, made a pigs ear of the french seams in the nightie and did who knows what damage to the domestic science apron (all we had to do was hem it and chain stitch our initials!). Those were the 3 projects for that year! Dismal! But I went home, told Auntie Mary about it and in a weekend she taught me more than I had learnt in the whole year. And inspired me to create things of beauty! I entered – and got first prize in the dressmaking competition at school the next year! My initial interest in quilts came from the Laura Ashley patchwork packs from the 1970s and 80s. Laura Ashley fed my passion for colour by selling me various bags of fabric – off-cuts, pre-cut hexagons – the lot, and with these I started my journey into quilt making. As a primary school teacher in the 80s I ran quilting clubs and worked with the children to create items for school fetes and the like. At this time I was a teacher member of the Quilters’ Guild and supported the Young Quilters team with a variety of workshops. I am no longer involved with Young Quilters though I have maintained my involvement with the Guild, serving as Festival of Quilts Officer from 2016 until 2021 and as a Trustee from 2021. I began to make quilts seriously in 1995 after I first attended a workshop taught by Judith Wilson in St Albans. Following this super introduction, I attended a number of courses taught by Judith over the next few years. I then successfully completed the City & Guilds Certificate in Craft and Design (Patchwork & Quilting) at Missenden Abbey taught by Barbara Weeks and, after a few years break, the City & Guilds Diploma in Craft and Design (Patchwork & Quilting) at Missenden Abbey taught by Janice Gunner. I have been influenced by the quilts exhibited at The American Museum, Bath and the V&A; and by many different quilters, a few of whom are referenced in my blog. My inspiration comes from the natural world, folk traditions, story and music and I am particularly drawn to Modern and Improv quilting. This adventure in craft and design, through quiltmaking, has led both directly and indirectly to some of the pieces on this website…. take a peek!
