Pilates, Yoga, Movement Teacher and Spiral Stabilization Therapist I was introduced to PILATES and YOGA during my Dance training and kept it up for 20+ years. The holistic mind/body outlook permeates my approach to health and fitness. In addition, I offer Spiral Stabilization, a registered physical therapy for back health and postural regeneration. Other movement studies include Somatic techniques and movement for actors. During 14 years of sustained teaching, I have worked with the structural, functional, fitness and rehabilitation elements of exercise instruction with individual clients and in groups. I’m looking forward to working with you! ABOUT SPACE4MOVEMENT The movement philosophy is based on addressing the postural and muscular imbalances, increasing awareness of ineffective movement patterns and applying the exercise to improve the body’s balance, stability, agility and stamina. This leads to an overall improved body sense, movement confidence and integration which enhances a sense of wellbeing. Spiral Stabilization works on similar principles, releasing tension in vertical muscle chains by strengthening the spiral chains, hence the name. It is an alternative therapy technique developed for treatment of spinal pathologies - scoliosis and herniated disks. It has a positive effect on a number of other ailments as well as a great compliment to any other training or recreational sport. The exercise is suitable for everyone. My name is Annette Barrett and I run Cook Stars Cardiff North & West. Having taken early retirement, I am now ready for the new challenge of promoting the importance and love of cooking in the wider community and decided to join Cook Stars in order to further this goal. I just loved the name 'Cook Stars'. Cooking allows every child the opportunity to shine in their own unique way and I'm so excited to be running children's cooking classes. I instantly knew I needed to be involved in this business in order to create an abundance of 'stars' armed with essential life skills. Learning to cook is such an important life skill but unfortunately over the years less and less time has been given to this subject in the school curriculum and many children have not been able to experience what they should have. Cooking has never been more important than it is now with increased obesity rates, diabetes and other food related disorders. I am so excited to be able to contribute to improving a person's health and well-being through cooking. I am married with two children, both in their twenties. They have been away at university but still want to come home for some 'proper food'!! In my spare time I like to follow sport and I am a Cardiff City Season ticket holder. I also swim regularly and recently swam the length of the English Channel for charity. Holidaying somewhere hot is also a must!

Harry's Boxing Club is a place anyone can go to get fit and improve their boxing abilities. Run by Harry Skelton, an ex-boxing coach in the British Army, we train in Berkhamsted. Our aim is for everyone to have fun and get involved in the sport! MEET THE COACH Whilst learning to box and coach in the British Army, I had the opportunity to work with a vast variety of men and women. All with similar goals of getting fit and learning a new skill. Whether the intention to compete was there, or whether they simply wanted the fitness, the ethos and values of boxing remained the same and are centered around hard work and effort being the path to achieving greatness. After a while, I was able to put the six-packs and glory aside, and witness the other ways that boxing and fitness was having an effect on people. I observed that when people had a focus and a way to physically exert themselves regularly, there was a massive increase in their mental health and wellbeing. Things that are so massively undervalued like getting a full nights sleep, or having the ‘get up and go’ motivation were the less obvious by-products of regular boxing training and in turn, the soldiers who came to train were much better for it. After leaving the army, I formed an adults boxing fitness club and again, started seeing the same results. The camaraderie of the classes, the family feel, the fitness and the achievement when you complete that next boxing or fitness milestone were leaving people with less stress, more focus and a general feeling of wellbeing.
