I have been working as a professional fitness coach in and around Nottingham for many years. In that time I have taught within the community and worked with a wide variety of people to enhance their health, fitness and wellbeing. My background is sport and fitness based having achieved a BSc (hons) Sport Science and Administration Degree. Since graduating I have taken on many coaching roles within the fitness industry to help develop and inspire those around me. I have run FitKid sessions for children as well as RSA Exercise To Music Courses for aspiring teachers, worked as a lecturer in local colleges and of course run fitness classes ranging from Circuits and Body Pump to Yoga and Step. I bring this vast experience to my current classes along with a passion to help people be the best they can be and have fun along the way. I have encouraged many people as they start on their fitness journey and motivated them to continue on their chosen path. I love my job, it’s great fun, always interesting and so rewarding… and that’s what I want for my participants. White-water canoeing had always been a part of Viking’s programme and was especially popular when Viking embarked on its three-week expedition to the French Alps or Austria. Then one summer a member returned from university telling us about a strange five a side game to which he had been introduced called Canoe Polo. Somehow the Unit was talked into trying out the sport, and it stuck. For the following 20 years, virtually all those who represented Viking, were members of the Venture Scout Unit. Today, although retaining links to the 73rd Derby Scout group, the club is a member of the B.C.U. in its own right
