MINI PROFESSORS "Science is all around us, in everything we see." Mini Professors is an innovative, interactive and fun science class that will open up a whole new world of scientific adventure to your child. Our classes are suitable for children from 2 years old up until they go to school. At Mini Professors, we aim to inspire a generation. We believe that science should be accessible to all. As with languages, children can easily absorb and learn science from an early age. That is why we endeavour to always use the correct scientific terminology but explain scientific principles in simple terms with fun experiments. We encourage our Mini Professors to explore for themselves and interact as much as possible. Every week we cover a new and exciting topic and each lesson is packed full of experiments, singing, stories and loads of fun. Our exciting topics include the brain, bubbles, electricity, flight, evolution, maths, dinosaurs, fossils, butterflies, weird science just to name a few. Each session is an individual unit, so you don't miss anything and flow on a rolling basis so that you can complete all of our fabulous programme through time.

I run two different classes depending on your child’s age. Jolly Babies is from newborn up to roughly 15 months and Music with Mummy classes which are from 15 months to pre school age. Jolly Babies is all about having a little fun. The songs we sing are usually original but there are also some well known ones in there too. All the songs are short and very sweet making them easy to learn. Babies love repetition so each song is sung usually at least twice. In each class, there is singing in the main, a short percussion section where the babies get to have a play with some basic instruments such as egg shakers, bells, hand drums etc. Finally, at the end of the class, there is a very short listening section where we turn the lights off and have a cuddle with their special grown up. I usually do bubbles during this part too which they love. Music with Mummy classes are very similar but we introduce a theme each half term as well as a basic musical concept, for example, loud and quiet, short and long etc. For this class the children need to be confident on their feet as it is a little more involved than Jolly Babies. Both classes are 30 minutes long and there is a maximum of 10 children per class.

Established in the village of Hartley Wintney, Hampshire, Hartley Arts Group (HAG) is now celebrating its 47th year. Since its formation in 1975, HAG’s membership list has been growing steadily, most of them living in and around the Hartley Wintney area. Though we also have members in Wales, France, Australia and New Zealand! In November of 2010 the old Hartley Arts Group unincorporated association dissolved and became Hartley Arts Group, a private charitable company, Company No. 7214087 and Charity No. 1136586. What do we do? HAG exists to provide something for amateur dramatists and musicians to get their teeth into. But that doesn’t just include acting and musical performance. HAG’s members encompass a variety of skills across the board to be able to produce high-quality and rewarding amateur productions, including directing, acting, singing, stage-managing, catering, carpentry, publicity, lighting, sound, painting, cleaning and anything else needed to put on a good performance. However, the overriding theme of it all is FUN! Many people come along to be part of the social atmosphere of HAG – to get away from the everyday things they do at home and join in with the activities. Alternatively, some just prefer to come and see our productions. You don’t need to be able to sing – or dance – or act – or wield a paintbrush! Living close enough to come to rehearsals should do it!

As a coach, Seth is dedicated to helping people calm, empower and rejuvenate their busy minds and bodies to achieve the best versions of themselves. Seth brings a wealth of experience holding heart-centered spaces. His in-depth studies, trainings, personal experiences of many therapeutic modalities such as Humanistic & Body Psychotherapy, the Human Potential Movement, 5 Rhythms, Active meditations and the teaching of the Indian Mystic Osho who he grew up with in India in the 1970s, infuse his approach to living a creative, holistic & embodied life and sharing his unique offerings with others. Seth has been facilitating regular workshops for many years. It is our Centenary in 2021 and 2022. Since 1921, the City of Birmingham Choir has entertained audiences with a wide and adventurous repertoire. Performing in historic Town Hall and in magnificent Symphony Hall, we have enjoyed a warm musical partnership with the city’s outstanding orchestra, the CBSO. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the choir continued to rehearse and present performances online. We have enjoyed rehearsing and performing together again since the autumn of 2021 as well as giving live concerts in Symphony Hall, Town Hall and Tewkesbury Abbey. Our Centenary concert centrepiece is Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony in November 2022. Read about the choir: History and Concert Archive. Our Conductor and Musical Director is Adrian Lucas. Adrian brings a wealth of experience as one of the country’s leading choral directors and conductors. Composer, teacher, conductor and all-round versatile musician, Colin Baines is our Accompanist. We have sung the major choral works as well as challenging newer compositions and a wide range of smaller scale music. The standard of our performances draws consistent praise. In Symphony Hall… As well as the CBSO, we have worked with the Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Swan, BBC Concert Orchestra, Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra and Westminster Chamber Orchestra. We joined the CBSO Chorus and CBSO for the much-praised centenary performances of Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, The Apostles and The Kingdom. We have performed some of the more intimate choral repertoire in ‘out of town’ venues such as Tewkesbury Abbey and Gloucester Cathedral. Easter 2017 saw our second hugely successful and enjoyable overseas tour – singing Handel’s Messiah in the Stephansdom in Vienna – following a tour to Paris in April 2015. A highly acclaimed performance of James MacMillan’s Seven Last Words from the Cross, our stylish annual Handel’s Messiah performances, collaborations with Birmingham Schools Symphony Orchestra (Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast in 2017), Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 with period instruments – these are some highlights. Amongst our 90th birthday celebrations was the ground-breaking Equinox concert bringing together musicians from many cultures. A Christmas Treats CD was recorded in the same year. Exploring both more familiar territory (Handel, Bach, Monteverdi, Brahms, Mozart, Haydn, Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Holst, Britten, Finzi), and less well-known, (such as Samuel Wesley, Howells, Rautavaara, Kenneth Leighton and Jonathan Dove), we continue to plan enterprising programmes. June 2015, saw us in jazz mode, performing the popular Zimbe! and a new composition, The Rain Queen, by our own composer, John Barber.
