Carers Count is a not for profit organisation that supports unpaid carers within Kirklees. We are managed by and operate under the Cloverleaf Advocacy umbrella and work closely with a wide range of professional health and care services, Kirklees Council, charities and community groups to provide support for unpaid carers. Carers Count works with carers who are aged 18 and over and give their time to someone with a physical disability, long-term illness, an older person, a child with additional needs, a learning disability and/or a mental health issue (including dementia). We are also able to provide assistance to someone even after they cease caring for whatever reason. Our dedicated team is on hand to offer advice, information, advocacy, support groups and activities for unpaid carers across Kirklees. We are experts in our fields and cover everything related to an unpaid carers role from benefits advice, raising awareness for carers, meditation sessions and wellbeing support, to understanding your rights as a carer. Everyone in the Carers Count team is hugely committed to supporting carers in whichever ways we can and it's our mission to raise awareness of carer issues - working in partnership with carers and on their behalf when they feel their voice is not being heard. Members of our team have been teaching Breathworks Mindfulness for Health and Mindfulness for Stress courses in Leeds since 2007. We became a Cooperative and a Community Interest Company in 2017, which means our profits are invested back into providing courses rather than for shareholder profit. A strength of our work has been having access to a depth of mindfulness experience along with an understanding of what it is like to live with a long term health condition. We have a person-centred non-medical approach that empowers people to regain control of their lives. We deliver secular events and courses suitable for all, while remaining proud of our Buddhist roots and Cooperative values.

Established in 2020 by Lisa Holmes, we are a not for profit community focused organisation driven by a belief that everyone should have access to photography, the arts and culture, and the opportunity to express themselves in a supportive environment. Keighley Photo Hub emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support our local community through a passion for photography, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Autism Partnership was established in 2000 to provide a comprehensive service to families and professionals caring for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders throughout the UK and the rest of the world. Our method is progressive Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), based on an established and systematic research-based strategy, which has been scientifically proven to be the most effective intervention for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Autism Partnership are a non-profit company led by our site director, Zahira Ali, who holds a Masters in Neuroscience and is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). Zahira has worked with children with ASD using ABA since 1998, and consults with families and schools in the UK and worldwide. As an organisation, we operate three therapy centres, located in Leeds and London, providing one-to-one instructional sessions, group sessions, and training workshops. We also provide consultation and training to schools and other agencies in the UK and across the globe. Our UK team consists of more than 20 staff, who all benefit from ongoing training and the expertise of our in-house consultants and supervisors. Our UK team is further supported by our US directors, Dr John McEachin and Dr Ron Leaf, who have more than 40 years of experience in autism intervention and are considered to be leading authorities in the field.

Leeds Animation Workshop is a not-for-profit, cooperative company, run by women, which produces and distributes animated films and films on social and educational issues. The organisation began in 1976 as a group of women friends who came together to make a film about the need for pre-school childcare. After completing WHO NEEDS NURSERIES? - WE DO! the group was formally established in 1978 as Leeds Animation Workshop. Throughout its history the Workshop has been run by women, who have carried out all stages of the production process, from initial research to final distribution. The films are all produced in consultation with organisations and individuals involved in the relevant field. The Workshop specialises in making complex or sensitive issues more accessible to audiences, and at times offering an alternative point of view. As well as production and distribution, the Workshop has been involved in many other activities, such as organising screenings of films by women and black directors, and providing workshop sessions in basic animation for adults and young people.

The spirit of the Centre’s aims has remained unchanged for over 100 years: Swarthmore seeks to inspire lives through friendly learning within a commitment to equality of opportunity Swarthmore is a centre for lifelong learning, community projects and family learning sessions as well as the courses and activities. Our main aim is to encourage people who want to learn but might not feel comfortable in more formal educational institutions. We work on a friendly, human scale. Many volunteers currently support the Centre’s work, and we welcome their contributions of time and energy. The Centre was founded by members of the Quaker movement in 1909 with the aim of including and involving people in learning activities and making sure that people were treated with equality and respect. Two members of the Society of Friends remain on our democratically elected ‘Council’ of Trustees, made up of Centre members and representatives of community organisations with shared aims. Swarthmore is a not-for-profit registered charity, and a company limited by guarantee. Our Grade II Listed Building has a fascinating history and is made up of six four-story terraced houses with additional dance and art studios to the rear. We have specialist facilities for pottery, jewellery, stained glass and sculpture, and the atmosphere is intentionally homely and informal. We also work within the local community on negotiated projects, including arts and ‘Skills for Life’ programmes. Many groups and individuals make use of the Centre as a community resource, providing facilities for a wide variety of local groups. Swarthmore attracts a social mix of people who come to the Centre because of their shared interests in learning rather than their background. We offer room hire at competitive rates, and welcome the public to use our café facilities. We are ‘The Everybody School of Art’, a place where the opportunity to experience the benefits of art and understand its value is available to all, regardless of age, ability, background, or circumstance. We champion art and creativity in everyday life and think that opportunity and engagement with art can make things better for everyone. Our time, space and resources are dedicated to supporting artistic development and community imagination, as such we are home to a thriving creative community where everyone is welcome. Our work takes place at our venue, a grade II listed textile mill in Halifax. Here you will find our art school with extensive creative production facilities and equipment, our gallery where creative practices and processes are shared and showcased as well as our artist studios, where 20 artists and creative practitioners make their work. Our work also takes place out in the community at schools and community venues, online and in peoples homes. Artworks is a community interest company so we don't work for profit. The income we generate is used to support the communities we are established to serve. Thanks to our funding partners and supporters we are able to make many of our activities free. Where we don’t receive any subsidy we make sure that access is affordable while always paying artists a fair rate.
