ABOUT THIS VIRTUAL INSTRUCTOR LED TRAINING (VILT) This 5 half-day VILT course will comprehensively cover the technical aspects of gas processing. The scope will be from the wellhead through the typical gas processing plant and discuss gas gathering (pipeline hydraulics), natural gas treating (H2S, CO2 removal), acid gas injection and sulfur recovery. One unique aspect of this training course is the operations and troubleshooting discussions in each module. This VILT course is suited to technical personnel or technical management. Training Objectives After the completion of this VILT course, participants will be able to: * Grasp the key specifications of natural gas and liquid products * Understand the physical and transport properties of gases and liquids and liquid-vapor phase behavior * Explore the various technologies for processing natural gas and to make the specifications * Examine the design of the technologies * Learn how to diagnose operating problems to keep facilities running reliably Target Audience This VILT course is intended for all surface technical personnel such as process engineers & technologists, facility engineers and production engineers & technologists. Case studies also stimulate independent thinking and discussion among the participants Trainer Your expert course leader has written several papers that have been published in both academic and industry journals. He has over 30 years of industry experience, specializing in gas processing (pipeline hydraulics, separation, dehydration, treating, sulphur recovery and refrigeration processes) and also has experience with crude oil dehydration, stabilization and micro-refining topping plants. He has experience with developing new technology and is recently involved in lithium, waste biomass and used motor oil pyrolysis and geothermal projects. He has recognized expertise in thermodynamics and physical and transport properties of fluids. He has consulted for several EPC and operating companies through his company Chem-Pet Process Tech., and currently holds the role of Director of Technology in an integrated engineering and solutions provider to the energy industry. He is currently involved with a small power-based carbon capture project as well as helping clients determine the best options for utilities decisions. He has been involved with CO2 dehydration and CO2 flood gas treating as well as acid gas injection projects for several years. Highlighted Achievements: * Developed ORC geothermal model to determine the available power from wells in Alberta * Acting on the Technical Advisory Board for E3 Metals, extracting lithium from formation water. * Acted as a Subject Matter Expert for assessing the performance of the Plains Midstream Canada, Empress 1 Deep Cut Straddle Plant in a potential litigation. * Acted as an Expert Witness for JL Transportation patent defence of a dense phase technology. * Process engineer lead on the addition of the new Orloff gas plant for Deltastream. Also troubleshooted the oil battery shipping pump, plate exchanger and FWKO and treater. * Evaluated gas processing and sulphur recovery options for new feeds to the Zhaikmunai Zelenovsky Gas Plant, Kazakhstan (with PM Lucas, Serbia). * Completed capacity analysis for hydrocarbon dew point versus liquid recovery of three trains at Birchcliff Pouce Coupe facility including amine unit, refrigerated gas plant and acid gas injection. * Completed process design for CO2 flue gas dehydration for Husky Energy Inc (with Status Engineering) * Provided simulations of EnCana Foster Creek and Christina Lake and Husky McMullen SAGD facilities (with Vista Projects). Performed process engineering for Cenovus Pelican Lake SAGD pilot (with GRB Engineering) Bear Lake heavy oil polymer injection pilot (with GRB Engineering). * Lead process engineer on the design of IEC Kerrobert crude oil micro-refinery (topping plant). * Provided engineering support and troubleshooting for Enerchem Slave Lake Crude tower and product blending (with Status Engineering). Characters was set up in November 2010 by Moira Townsend Williams to provide opportunities for children and young people to obtain a performance arts training with a creative ethos. Moira is a producer and writer living in Bradford on Avon, who has also been a professional actor, (trained at Guildford School of Acting) as well as a casting director and theatrical agent. Besides producing shows for Characters, she has produced 15 live shows of her own show The Casting Couch in London’s West End and a TV pilot for Channel 4, and various other film and theatre projects including the launch for Salisbury based Women’s Theatre JUNO. Characters employs teachers and directors who are also working in the industry so that the experience your child receives is always relevant and up-to-date. Current members of the team include Maria Finlay, who has many London acting credits, who teaches and directs our Saturday Stage School at The Arc as well as Little Characters, and Trinity Exam groups, Emma Tierney who teaches/directs our Bath Characters classes, and Megan Ashton who runs our Little Characters group. Past teachers and directors have included Leanne Copley, choreographer and performance arts teacher from St Brendan’s Sixth Form College who headed up the recent partnership with St Brendan's Performance Arts Academy, as well as Tillie Bolton who now runs her own Theatre School TSPA in Bristol. Our Stage Company, which devises new plays for performance, was in 2017 led by award-winning Bristol director Dave Lovatt and Musical Director Helen Temmink. Past workshops have been led by many well known industry professionals including Penelope Wildgoose, a Stroud based award-winning actor/director, David Bond, head of performance at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Sophie Jacobs-Wyburn, who now runs The egg youth theatre in Bath,David Lane, a leading Bristol based director and dramaturge, and Tom Wainwright, who was recently writer in residence at Bristol Old Vic. The vision of Characters is to provide a training that as closely as possible emulates a drama school training, adapted for the various age groups. This not only gives participants a solid foundation in techniques and skills, should they wish to pursue a career in performance arts later on in life, but also develops team building, confidence and self-esteem which are all key to a child’s personal development and happiness – whatever they do in life. Because we are not a franchise, we can keep our fees affordable, and we will always work with parents to swop skills for fees so that our classes are accessible to all.

Library of Things and Repair Cafes. We are currently (as of Spring 2021) introducing HOW TO Reduce your Carbon Footprint workshops within the Share and Repair Shop and as a pilot project within primary schools. Another strand of ‘sharing’ is our Library of Things. We started this at the Weston Hub in November 2018 and changed our official name to Share & Repair in line with our expanded vision. We become a charity: In April 2020, Share and Repair gained charitable status as a CIO (charitable incorporated organisation) no 1189015. This is a major milestone for us and means we are accountable and can now raise funds through grant making trusts and from Gift Aid. We opened our first pop-up shop: In June 2020 we hit another major milestone when we opened the doors to the Share and Repair Shop in the centre of Bath. Our first location on Broad Street had an incredible response, raising awareness of sharing and repairing in Bath. In August 2021 we moved to another location at 3 York Buildings, George Street (BA1 2EB), which is now the new home for the Bath Library of Things and a place where we run even more repair sessions. HomeKIT launches: In Spring 2021 we officially launch HomeKIT. This is a new project that will see us taking donations of good-quality but unwanted kettles, irons and toasters and sharing these ‘home kits’ with partner charities who will distribute them to low-income households. If items need repairing, we certainly have the skills and means to do so. We’re really excited about expanding our work in this way and working with other organisations.
