The interest of young people in science is developed by inspiring and knowledgeable teachers and technicians. From local events to national policy, we are a professional community dedicated to supporting excellence in science teaching and learning. The Association for Science Education (ASE) is an active membership body that has been supporting all those involved in science education from pre-school to higher education for over 100 years; members include teachers, technicians, tutors and advisers. We are a Registered Charity with a Royal Charter, owned by our members and independent of government. We seek to create a powerful voice for science education professionals in order to make a positive and influential difference to the teaching and learning of science throughout the UK and further afield.

Like many people in our profession, I didn’t exactly grow up dreaming of working in ELT, but what made me fall in love with it was two main things: ❤ The opportunity to work directly with people and help them to help themselves change their lives for the better. ❤ The great colleagues I got to work with, as a teacher, teacher trainer, manager and materials writer. Working as a business and mindset coach with ELT freelance professionals enables me to combine both those things, and to use the skills and experience I have to have a real impact. One of the things I don’t like about ELT is the way that so many excellent professionals are underpaid, undervalued and scraping by. I also far too often see people working themselves into the ground. This might be OK when we’re in our early twenties with no responsibilities, but it’s no way to run a sustainable and enjoyable professional career.

We believe our photographers to be amongst the very best in the business, not just because they are skilled in their aviation photography craft, but because many have strong and respected associations within the aviation industry. At AirTeamImages we can truly say we know our subject matter inside out. Furthermore, by incorporating photographers who work with and fly aircraft, air traffic controllers, aircraft maintenance operatives, aviation historians, writers and editors we are able to obtain the ‘wow’ images which would normally be impossible for any others to obtain from anywhere else. In addition to their skills and knowledge, our photographers have been selected for their expertise in many particular areas of aviation, this way we can offer a complete and balanced view of everything from small single prop ‘flying for pleasure aircraft’ to the complex flight decks of today’s large modern airliners, military aircraft from the worlds air forces to warbirds and gliders, hot air balloons and even space travel. The huge on-line image collection covers all aspects of aviation, not just today but from the very early years of flight itself. We also cover behind the scenes in detail which encompasses all aspects of airport infrastructure including the people who work within the aviation industry, air traffic control, aircraft maintenance personnel, aircraft manufacturing, aircrew training, security, emergency services and so much more.

Based in the historic city of Coventry, West Midlands (UK), The Mandatory Training Group is the leading UK provider of statutory and mandatory training courses across all sectors including health & social care courses, health and safety training, food safety and food hygiene, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, first aid at work, leadership and management courses and programs, human resource management, soft skills, communication and career development among many others. We have also worked with many international organisations to develop and implement mandatory training courses and continuing professional development programs across non-governmental organisations, education and other private and public sector organisations.

We are fortunate to have superb facilities here at Caludon which provide modern and professional learning spaces and resources for every subject. In addition to this, we use digital technology smartly, investing in the creative and transformative potential of the use of IPads and interactive platforms. We know that during the course of our students’ time here at Caludon they will inevitably face personal as well as academic challenges. Our pastoral teams are dedicated to supporting our young people so that they feel safe and happy at school, form good friendships and understand and embody our values of respect, kindness and inclusion. We enjoy the diversity of our school community and, whilst we encourage a pride in being a part of the Caludon Castle School, we also encourage a celebration of what makes us unique and individual. A student’s time at Caludon should be defined by more than attending their lessons. Our students will belong to a House (Devonish, Maddison or Smith) and participate in house competitions and celebrations; they can join clubs and societies to pursue their interests beyond the classroom and they will be encouraged to invest in their leadership skills through our student leadership pathways. Caludon Castle School is fortunate to be part of a successful multi-academy trust with a strong leadership culture for both staff and students. As well as attracting and developing excellent professionals, our school community also has much to share as we collaborate with partner schools realising opportunities to continually learn and grow.
