Migrateful’s mission is to empower and celebrate refugees and vulnerable migrants on their journey to integration, by supporting them to run their own cookery classes.

I am a self employed artist, tutor and workshop leader. My personal working practice is figurative, incorporating my own dance movement language and working from other models and figurative imagery in the out comes of drawing, mixed media, art works, painting and printmaking. I have recently began to explore sculptural mediums and working with clay and throwing on the wheel. I am particularly inspired by the visual narrative gained from documentary and fashion photography and use my own and sourced photography as a visual aid. I currently I am currently teach and facilitate a regular figure and life drawing class, which is of a good standard. I enjoy tutoring adults as well as joining in with drawing and allowing others valid input into the group. I also run family Saturday morning art workshops at ocean studios which have included experimental painting and fun painting and drawing games, narrative book making, clay tiles, printing, marbling, badge making etc I also own my own portable printing press and can lead monotype, dry point etching and Collagraph print-making. I recently completed a year-long ‘defining practice’ course at the Newly School of Art and I endeavour to continue developing my own artists practice as well as working within the community in diverse ways, whilst drawing upon my wealth of experience. I am also keen to make drawn portraits of people at community street events. I continually visit and enjoy art exhibitions, live music, arts cinema, dance performance, theatre, comedy, street performance.

Founded by artists in 1977 as ‘Swansea Arts Workshop Gallery’, Mission Gallery has since developed a national and international reputation for presenting dynamic and distinctive programming. Boasting a proud forty year history of delivery and a strong reputation for supporting and nurturing artists, Mission Gallery has taken artistic risks; showing ambitious, diverse work by established and emerging artists across all disciplines, from Wales and beyond. Mission Gallery has a thriving Learning and Participation Programme aimed at all ages and abilities, building strong and meaningful cultural partnerships within artistic and education institutions. Mission Gallery is proud of the important collaborations, projects and exchanges developed with cultural organisations in New York and Venice, building our international work through programming, partnerships and residencies . Housed in a Grade II listed building in Swansea’s Maritime Quarter, Mission Gallery began its existence as a voluntary artist run body, evolving into a professional organisation funded by Arts Council of Wales in 2003. Governed by a voluntary board of directors, the management, programming and running is maintained by a small and dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Mission Gallery has a long track record of successfully forging meaningful and sustainable partnerships across the city, in particular with Swansea College of Art who are key partners.

Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company is based in Derry in Northern Ireland where it has its home studios in Waterloo House on the historic City Walls. Echo Echo was founded by Ursula Laeubli and Steve Batts in Amsterdam in 1991. The company worked extensively throughout Europe before moving to Derry in 1997. Echo Echo favours collaborative and co-operative working methods. The company is organised as an ensemble with a group of artists who are committed to long term collaboration and mutual support. Echo Echo creates touring, site and event specific productions, a festival of dance and movement, a programme of artistic residencies, performances by visiting artists and companies, and a wide variety of participatory projects with a broad range of groups and individuals. The style of our work varies greatly. Rather than being defined by a particular aesthetic or idiom, we approach dance broadly as the art of “poetic movement”. We understand that dance has a similar relation to our everyday movement as the poetic use of language does to our normal, everyday speech. Being “poetic” in movement is natural and universal, and accordingly our approach is organically suited to many levels of participation. We do not see a rigid or fundamental distinction between “professional” projects and “participatory” projects. We are committed to high quality artistic practice and to creating numerous ways for people to join in. Echo Echo works with and collaborates with, among others, pre-school children and parents, schools and youth groups, people with learning disabilities, people with physical and sensory disabilities, and older people, as well as with professional dancers, performers and artists from other disciplines. The central arch leads into what was formerly the Market Hall. In 1926 it was converted into a Council Chamber for Hartlepool and a dance hall with a capacity for 2,000 people. Over the next almost 100 years it has little in terms of its design but greatly in terms of its function currently being an entertainment venue with meeting rooms, offices, a library and a wedding venue. The main auditorium has a capacity of 1,200 and has lift access from the entrance. The building has a separate bar, Constables Bar, accessible from the main street that can be accessible to the main auditorium at events; there is also a temporary bar on the ground floor and a well maintained kitchen. The cellar lies in the basement of Constables Bar and is not accessible directly from the main auditorium. There are male, female and accessible toilets on the ground floor, in the auditorium and in the main bar. The balcony is accessible from the East and West areas of the main auditorium. On the first floor of the South-East wing of the Borough Hall boasts a Mayor’s Parlour and Mayors Chamber that has a 100 capacity. Moving towards the South-West of the first floor the building accumulates a core of smaller rooms that are not in use or for small meetings/storage areas. There is also a large room, Sandwellgate Room, which is a meeting room and Middlegate Room, which provides registrars wedding services.
