Our vision is to provide a broad, inclusive health and science curriculum, delivered to the highest standards in partnership with our employer partners. This will ensure that our learners receive personalised, practical experiences, offering opportunities that enrich their experience above and beyond that normally expected and enhancing their employability WE OFFER TOMORROW’S EDUCATION TODAY We’re excited and proud to be the first UTC in the UK to specialise in health care and health science, offering learning and career opportunities for young people like no other school or college in the region. By combining academic study with real-life work projects, personal development activities, and career opportunities our young people will become well-rounded work-ready individuals. They will benefit from a combination of qualified national curriculum teaching and putting their learning into practice in exciting, work-focused projects that are delivered in partnership with employer professionals. We’re able to deliver this ‘tomorrow’s education today’ concept through robust partnerships with major health, education and public sector organisations. This approach supports the development of academic, practical and life skills in our young people, equipping them to meet the demands from employers for good qualifications, transferable skills and a professional attitude to work – whatever career path they eventually choose. We believe that the UTC can provide a set of opportunities and qualifications that will provide an excellent foundation for students to enter the health and care professions. WHAT IS A UTC? University Technical Colleges (UTCs) are government-funded schools with a science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) focus. They provide a unique and relevant approach to education, which addresses the changing needs of students and employers in the 21st century. UTCs were established by companies and universities in areas of high demand for talent. Alongside national curriculum teaching, UTCs also offer sought-after vocational and technical qualifications, and benefit from industry-standard equipment and specialist staff to provide students with skills that are valued by employers. The UTC curriculum has a strong emphasis on ‘real life’ project-based learning, which engages students and develops their personal character. Because of this unique offer, UTCs allow for a broad choice of pathways when a student reaches 18 years old: university, higher or degree apprenticeships, or directly into a career.

Advance Learning Partnership is a not-for-profit Multi Academy Trust consisting of a mix of primary and secondary academies.Welcome from the CEO The Advance Learning Partnership shares a common objective across all its schools and staff: ‘Excellent Education through Collaboration’ Across ALP we have an unrelenting drive to achieve the highest possible standards for each one of our children. All staff share best practice, seek opportunities to learn from others and understand that their professional development is fundamental to a child’s success. The ALP family of schools recognise each school as unique. The schools and their leaders share a Trust wide set of educational principles and then contextualise the principles into a working model to meet the needs of their children. The fundamental challenge established for the school leaders is that the educational offer they provide must be of a standard that they would desire for your own child: ‘Your Child is Our Child’ The Trust has established structures that ensure leaders are developed. The highest performing staff work across the Trust Schools, evaluating schools to ensure that they are achieving the highest of educational standards. Collaborative networks across all subjects, themes and personal development areas are embedded. ALP practice is steeped in evidence-based research and extensively links to and works with local, regional, and national educational bodies. The Trust has established a centralised structure, consisting of a school improvement team and a core school support team. The central support team ensure that the leaders’ focus within the schools is on the children and their education, whilst the school improvement team evaluate, develop and support the schools’ educational provision. Over the coming years the Trust must be able to create stability whilst being flexible enough to innovate in our practices. This will ensure the children within our care are successful and safe regardless of the challenges that they will face in education and society. We have a proven record of accomplishment in delivering academic improvement. We are enormously proud of our academies, leaders, governors, teachers, and support staff who serve the children so well. This strategic plan will confirm the direction, aims and ambitions of our Central Support Team.

The Welsh School Of Homoeopathy

the welsh school of homoeopathy

he Welsh School of Homeopathy was founded in 1995. The School is recognised by the Society of Homeopaths. It is located in the centre of Carmarthen, by the castle grounds. The building comprises of two teaching rooms, a clinic room, a library and computer room, kitchen and toilet facilities, plus a shop front and waiting area. There are plenty of nearby bed and breakfast facilities and a nearby car park, plus many eating places to choose from! Carmarthen itself is easily accessible by train and by car from the M4 motorway. Testimonials: “I love the Welsh School. It beats with a fine and beautiful heart. Bill and Linda are dedicated to both the art and science of homeopathy as well as the vital and sometimes challenging processes of becoming a healer. Their commitment to student centred learning is deeply refreshing and rewarded by both committed and enthusiastic students and graduates.” MIRANDA CASTRO (Author & Teacher) “Teaching at the Welsh school is always a delight. The ethos of the school is inspiring to everyone who comes into contact with it and inspires the students to a deep understanding and love of homeopathy.” PETER FRASER (Author/Co-director Vancover Homeopathic Academy) “I teach in many different schools in the UK and abroad and the quality of the teachers and students in the Welsh School is bettered by none. It is led and nurtured by a committed team with the complementary skills of Linda Gwillim and Bill Rumble. In a day’s teaching a teacher soon realises by the class interaction the quality of the students’ homeopathic understanding. It is obvious that the traditional principles of homeopathic philosophy, a sound materia medica and hard work are integral to the Welsh School’s curriculum. However, the remedies are not taught dryly but are seen as part of the dynamic process of nature from which they derive. Nature and man’s relationship with it in all ways, including myth, are central to a deep understanding of remedies and this School seems to embrace this more than any other, with active involvement in symbolism and legend. This is important for homeopathic understanding but also for personal development and a deeper understanding of the universal connection we share.
