Destiny School Of Dance was incorporated in memory of Destiny Jayde Clarke on December 31st 2021. We are a fun and affordable dance school that takes pride in producing future stars who are destined to dance. All of our dancers are made to feel comfortable and relaxed in a safe and friendly environment with fully qualified and insured staff. Our classes are great for building confidence, making new friends and of course, promoting health and well-being through physical exercise whilst having fun! Our school is growing nicely and by the start of October, we will have classes in four different locations in Wolverhampton and Tipton. View our classes here. We run regular away days for women, our parents and young people, where we teach them about mental health awareness, nutrition, holistic remedies and GOAL setting There is a mental health crisis in our school system and a huge increase within the last 5 years. Children are facing even more pressures than ever; exams, social media, cyberbullying and body image and need to develop skills to cope and succeed in today's world. We offer a safe and secure consistent place for vulnerable young people to find support. . OUR FUTURE LEADERS Who we work with One Step at a Time. We start working with our young people from an early age to ensure that we can follow through when building their confidence and self-esteem; especially when faced with challenges such as peer pressure, body image, mental health, and addiction. Our youth team helps to make all our courses a success. We use the skills of our Black community ambassadors, be-frienders, and arts awarded courses as a mean of engagement. With our youth, we use a unique approach to person-centred success. We encourage an holistic approach, making them aware of Black history, Black leaders and connections with the Black elders within our community. Our mission is to make a stronger and fairer world and to fight for equality.

renegade theatre community interest company

Renegade Theatre was founded in 2018 by Natasha Langridge as an umbrella to create and produce plays for, with and about her local community in North Kensington. Renegade's first project was In Memory of Leaves written and performed by Natasha; an uncompromising monologue that explores what happens to communities when they are moved from their homes. It is personal and bracing; a love note to neighbours and a revolutionary call to the world. In Memory of Leaves was first performed as a site specific piece outdoors on The Wornington Green Estate as part of the inTRANSIT Festival before moving to the Teatro Keiros (Rome). Natasha performed the piece as part of Portobello Live in 2018 and, with Arts Council funding, took it on a three week tour of London canals across Kensington/Camden/Hackney on the Fordham Gallery Barge. Renegade Theatre's current projects include The Wornington Word: A People's History of The Wornington Green Estate W10. The project will record and archive the history of the estates residents from the 1960's up to recent times with oral histories, photos and a documentary that will eventually be archived in Kensington Central and North Kensington Libraries as well as being entered into the 2020 Portobello Film Festival. The project will ultimately facilitate the residents in coming together, for the last time, to create a documented history of their lives on the estate before it is demolished and regenerated into the new Portobello Square development. Renegade Theatre runs a free Saturday drama club for local children, led by Natasha Langridge and Hannah Hutch who has performed at The National Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe, The Old Vic and the BBC. The classes use a mix of drama and physical theatre games with techniques to promote fun, confidence and creativity. Over time we have created three plays, a Carnival Song, three films, a series of short films - the Golden Gifts Project - funded by the Kensington and Chelsea Foundation and The Story Stall, an onsite performance about the history of Golborne Market. In 1979, Helen O’Grady, a trained teacher and actress, hired a hall in Perth, Australia and commenced after school drama classes for children. Her aims were to provide a self-development through drama programme for children, to encourage: Enthusiasm, energy and a positive approach to life Ongoing confidence Self-esteem Skill in verbal communication Effective social interaction 40 years later, Helen O’Grady’s programme of self-development has become the largest drama organisation of its kind, with over 100,000 students attending classes each week. The Academy’s ethos of ‘Development through Drama’ aims to encourage students to be confident within themselves and to communicate well. Through structured lesson plans, the classes focus on: Developing social interaction skills Focusing on vocal and physical communication techniques Improving clarity of speech For public speaking and one-on-one communication Building self-esteem and confidence To help our students feel good in themselves and around others
