I'm a paper artist and illustrator whose work combines traditional paper-cutting techniques, collage and digital art. I'm represented by Meiklejohn illustration agency and have worked with a range of clients including, BBC Four, Tatler, The Guardian and Gosh Arts. I have illustrated and authored a selection of books, including Papercut Woodland and Paper Plants published by Carlton Books. I love to share my craft, I teach workshops throughout the UK. Paper cutting is creative and therapeutic, focusing the mind and steadying the hand while bringing about a serene sense of achievement. It's a joy to see others find the same level of joy in the craft as I do.

Make Good Print Co. is a screenprinting studio based in South Devon specialising in water-based printing on fabric and paper. We provide an affordable print service, run workshops and provide open-access membership to the studio.  Graduates in Graphic Design and Fashion & Textiles respectively we have formal training and a long-running passion for our craft. We love working with our hands and keep a DIY spirit at the heart of what we do. If we’re not at the studio with squeegees in hand with a bit of luck we’ll be walking on Dartmoor, swimming in the Dart or surfing the south coast.

I am a surface designer and have been designing and cutting stencils for almost 30 years - first for printed textiles, then for architectural sandblasted glass and currently for papercuts. I love simple, bold and graphic imagery and am inspired by primitive art, Scandinavian textiles, my Welsh heritage and the beautiful Gower landscape where I live, all mixed up with a love of illustration and design. Although I gained recognition for my distinctive architectural glass, undertaking large scale commissions for public and private spaces and meeting the Queen with my work, it is the hands on, simple and traditional technique of paper cutting which I currently find most gratifying. With just a scalpel, paper and cutting mat I create contemporary and humorous images which are designed to make you smile. My products sell across the world and in addition to winning an award at the prestigious Made by Hand exhibition I have been featured in the press. Everything on this site is designed or made by me and I source my products as locally as I possibly can, and always within the UK. I exhibit widely in galleries in the UK and attend many artist events in person as well as running paper cutting workshops from my studio. I am a freelance designer-maker, applied artist, crafts-woman, whatever you want to call me – I stitch stuff by hand; fabric, metal, porcelain, leather, vitreous enamel.. . My work is various, it depends whether I am working for myself, to commission or collaborating with other artists. But whatever I do is slow to make; detailed hand stitching in any material whether in silk, linen, wool or wire takes time, consequently my work is also slow to evolve. I decided to show on this site what I do, who I am work with, how I work and also how I think. I want to show the work behind HER WORK not just the finished things. The journey from the first idea, searching, researching, drawing, sampling and eventually making the finished piece. You will be able to watch my work progress, or not; maybe by seeing this record people will come to value making that is manufactured by hand, heart and eye. In May 2010 I developed – Heart Space Studios ( from my yoga practice “Put your Hands in your Heart Space”) and for 5 years it was a space in Bristol England for all things textile. The activities at the studios can still be viewed – I closed the studio workshops in 2015 – the classes remain on this site as part of the blog, they contain many of my most popular posts….. Heart Space Studios continues as a group of makers who develop projects primarily for publishing companies. Most notably we work with designer Kaffe Fassett in the production of his patchwork quilt books and other fabrics.
