CIPHER Medical was founded by co-owner Andy Thomas after he left the Royal Air Force in late 2015. The aim of CIPHER medical was to Deliver the highest standards of clinical care both to the event medical industry and to the National Health Service. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF Founded in 1995, we are an all-age special school in the heart of Cleveland. Kilton Thorpe School converted to an Academy in 2012 and became Kilon Thorpe Specialist (KTS) Academy. Judged 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in May 2022, we welcome pupils aged 4 to 19 with an Education, Health and Care Plans which states a learning difficulty or disability. This can include children on the autistic spectrum and children with complex needs. With 170 pupils and over 100 teaching and support staff, we have high levels of staffing to ensure that all pupils receive excellent care, guidance and support. A multi-disciplinary team, which includes specially trained staff in nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, work closely alongside our school staff to ensure that pupils make the progress they are able to make. Our facilities include Early Years Foundation Stage provision, a thriving 14-19 unit and specialist provision for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, as well as those with an autistic spectrum condition. In addition, we are proud of our specialist resources, which include a hydrotherapy pool, soft play area, ICT suite, sensory integration rooms and sensory light rooms. KTS Academy is a Unicef Rights Respecting School and achieved the Gold Rights Respecting Schools Award in 2022.

Cathy has 24 years experience as a therapist and is a registered MBACP Senior Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy adhering to the BACP Code of Ethics. Cathy values working therapeutically with both clients and supervisees and enjoys the unique learning process that therapy provides. Cathy has a particular interest in the traumatic impact of domestic and sexual abuse. Cathy is Chair of Trustees for the charity Compassion – addressing domestic abuse and providing long term support to victims and families. For many years Cathy sat on the DV Hate Crime Scrutiny Panel addressing domestic abuse prosecutions for the Suffolk Crown Prosecution Service and continues to provide consultancy for organisations. Cathy is enthusiastic and passionate about her work in the arena of domestic abuse, but when not working Cathy enjoys time with her family, walking, gardening, travel and catching up with friends.
