STARS Performing Arts School is a nurturing environment for young people to develop their skills, grow in confidence and pursue their ambitions in the arts. Alongside industry-standard performing arts training, we offer creative and engaging out-of-school clubs, holiday workshops and industry-ready development with professional opportunities in partnership with our talent agency, Tucker Management. We are predominantly a dance, drama and singing academy for young people aged 3+ with a love of the arts, and also offer a range of childcare services for those who want something more than the usual facilities and activities available. Our teachers are industry professionals and strive to provide an excellent standard of classes for Stars students.

Feeling reflective and truly grateful as the year draws to a close. 2021 has been the year that has seen some of the biggest highlights of my life and my career. I have been so lucky to be in a position to bring feel good fitness sessions to so many people during the pandemic. I love my job and I feel connected to so many incredible people who inspire me every day. In non-chronological order, because I’m in a rush, and I can’t remember how everything happened with the weekly changes in restrictions, along with new variants this year… I’d like to share some of the best moments that come to mind. Here goes!

Hello, I am a qualified Wedding & Funeral Celebrant covering Dorset, Devon, Somerset & weddings abroad! Formerly an actress I’ve had a varied career in theatre & BBC radio. To hear my voice click on the readings FUNERALS - I decided to become a funeral celebrant after being truly touched and inspired by my Mum’s Celebrant-led funeral. I had never heard of a Celebrant Ceremony and I was amazed at how personal and special it was, and how it really helped my family in our early stages of grief. WEDDINGS - It was a natural progression for me to become a Wedding Celebrant, and I was thrilled to be asked to do a Ceremony for my sister’s wedding. I love to create and write special and fitting celebrations, and totally love hearing people’s stories of love and writing them into ceremonies!

I have always had a passion for learning and supporting others to achieve personal and professional success. As a former Headteacher, I know the tremendous expectations that can be placed upon schools and their staff. I embraced my Headship with enthusiasm and ambition though at times I often felt isolated, insecure and exhausted. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to invest in coaching as part of my leadership development.  It was transformational. Coaching enabled me to improve professionally and create positive change for others. Working with my own coach, I learnt how to work effectively, manage change and remove or overcome any barriers that were holding me back. I became able to balance the demands of an intensive job with a young family and feel far more confident and energized. As a direct result of my experience I wanted to ensure all educators had the opportunity to experience coaching and  build their leadership skills to create success for themselves and inspire their teams and school community.  Feeling the experience of coaching for myself and seeing the positive impact it has on others is the reason I became a qualified coach. I know leadership can be tough, but I also believe it can be the most enjoyable and rewarding role you will ever have. Coaching reminds us of what we value and why we love what we do. Whatever challenges you face as a leader, I can assure you learning coaching is the best decision you will ever make.

Having grown up sailing dinghies and yachts, Robin joined the Merchant Navy from school and soon became a Navigating Officer on general cargo ships trading to all parts of the globe. Coming ashore, Robin’s varied but essentially marine career, took him through marine electronics, HM Coastguard and Harbour Master. Entering a sort of semi-retirement in 2014 he and his wife, Teresa, cruised their own boat to the east coast of Sweden. Since then, Robin has enjoyed instructing RYA practical and shorebased courses. “Improving nautical skills is of course hugely important,” Robin says, “but I also like to get across the ‘essence’ of life onboard a boat – to experience and appreciate the marine environment around us”. Keith Profile Keith Miller RYA Yachtmaster Instructor Keith has over 20 years boating experience in both motor and sail. He is a RYA Yachtmaster Instructor and also has teaching qualifications for power boats and VHF radio. He has 3 Fastnet races to his name as well as a number of round Britain cruises, all as skipper. He has worked on the East Coast as an instructor for more than 10 years, as well as spending several seasons in Malaysia with Langkawi Sailing School. Keith is also a senior martial arts instructor for adults and children, and a founder member of the South Eastern Taekwando group. Asked why he does what he does Keith says ‘I just get a huge buzz from passing on my love of sailing to others, and helping them to develop their skills and experience.’

Reflect CKD was established by Kirsty Dickson.  Miss Dickson started her training in Choi Kwang Do at The Cassar Academy of Choi Kwang Do in Morden where she was awarded her Chief Instructor Certification in 2010. In September 2014 she completed her School Owner Certification and opened Reflect CKD.  Miss Dickson has been lucky enough to attend many International Seminars as well as those closer to home in the UK.  In May 2016 Miss Dickson took her 3rd Degree Examination and went on to become a Choi Kwang Do Examiner. The following year, Miss Dickson and Mr Nash travelled to Atlanta to train with the Founder of Choi Kwang Do – Sahjonim Kwang Jo Choi. Most recently, In December 2020, Miss Dickson successfuly passed her 4th Degree Grading in front of Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi and was promoted to the rank of Deputy Master in the Art of Choi Kwang Do.  Reflect CKD has an incredible team of Instructors whose passion, dedication and teaching skills shine through in every class.  All members of the team are constantly training and developing themselves and bring this love for learning, personal growth and positive attitude to ever session they teach!
