The largest corpora contain texts with a total length of 60,000,000,000 words. Such data allow us to generate databases of millions or even hundreds of millions of items while preserving accuracy and reliability. Our customers are software developers, dictionary and language teaching material publishers and anyone who needs reliable language data. The databases we supply can be enriched with related linguistic data such as synonyms, collocations, example sentences and morphological and statistical information. We also provide solutions in the area of full-text search, terminology extraction, document classification and categorization, data mining and information retrieval. It works at the intersection of corpus and computational linguistics and is committed to an empiricist approach to the study of language, in which corpora play a central role: for a very wide range of linguistic questions, if a suitable corpus is available, it will help us understand. The flagship product of Lexical Computing is Sketch Engine, a leading corpus management and corpus query tool used by linguists, lexicographers, translators and publishers worldwide. Its unique feature – the Word Sketch – and its derived functionalities together with the scalability, multilingual support and ability to handle the largest available corpora make Sketch Engine stand out in the crowd of corpus software. Lexical Computing is a supplier of word databases, lexicons, n-gram databases and similar language data for use in other software or for lexicographic projects. Data provided by Sketch Engine and services from Lexical Computing are based on a suite of more than 650 text corpora with a size of up to 60 billion words and covering over 90 languages.

She spent hours drawing and painting and could write fiction better than most college students. Yet, she loathed school. She rarely spoke in class, dropped out of the gifted and talented program, either didn’t do her homework or would forget to turn it in. She had As on the tests and Cs and Ds in the class. Jane’s academic future looked dismal. Poor grades and high test scores are not a winning combination for college admission. Her public school was not the right place for her, but neither were the local private schools. Academically-oriented private schools do not accept students with poor grades. Schools that accept students with poor grades are not always academically rigorous. Stalemate. Until we started FlexSchool. Jane spent six years at FlexSchool, learned to love learning again, graduated in 2020, and attends a well-known liberal arts college studying anthropology, linguistics, map-making, and art.

Hi, I'm Beth. I’m a Speech and Language Therapist from Essex, UK. I'm a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, from the UK, with extensive experience working with children with speech, language and communication needs in a range of settings including schools, preschools and clinics. I'm mum to two primary school-aged children, one of whom has special needs. EU1A9034-2.jpg eu1a9097.jpg I set up my own clinical service provision in 2011 and have since then built up a successful practice, with my own clinic where I see private patients. I also provide a regular service to a number of schools in my local geographical area. I have a master’s degree in Health and Human Sciences (MSc), qualifying as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2009. My undergraduate degree (BA Hons) is in Linguistics and Spanish. I’m registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, the Health and Care Professionals Council and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP). I have been the chair of my local ASLTIP group for a number of years, organising regular meetings and suporting a large group of 18 members covering a range of clinical specialisms. I’ve worked with lots of practitioners and staff in schools and preschools throughout my career and I've provided a lot of information, advice, training and support for a variety of Speech and Language topics. As well as training education staff, I also deliver seminars as a guest lecturer to Speech and Language Therapy Students at the University of Essex. These cover a range of topics, including service provision, speech sounds, stammering, vocabulary and word finding, assessment and intervention.
