The atmosphere here at OMBS is warm and supportive with students who enjoy a balance between the intensity of the three term Professional Business Diploma course and the university student lifestyle in the city. Our ambitions for our students are wide-ranging. As well as acquiring the all-important technical skills we also know that soft skills are equally important. Many colleges, most notably those at university level, deliver training principally through large lectures, often with as many as 200 students at a time. Whilst this presents few disadvantages to more experienced students who want to study an academic subject in depth, many students would benefit from a greater level of individual attention in a smaller class environment learning practical hands-on-skills essential for effective job performance. OMBS offers a unique combination of excellent facilities, small class sizes, personal tutors and a relaxed friendly environment. As a small college we know every student individually and see them grow throughout their time here reaching levels of expertise they never thought they would achieve. We support them through their academic work as well as their personal experiences. What we provide our students here at OMBS is the chance to gain the advanced skills they need to tackle that first step of their career. They leave here feeling confident and capable about their future. A large number of our students come to OMBS because they have heard about what it is like being a student here at college and in Oxford; because one of their family has been before; or because their school has reassured them that this is the right place and the right course for them. We are lucky to be located in the very heart of Oxford, in St Aldate’s, opposite the beautiful Christ Church Meadow, surrounded by beautiful buildings and historic colleges of the University. South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture offer an extensive programme of swimming activities for all ages and abilities. Swimming is an essential life skill which opens the door to many other aquatic activities including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and open water swimming. There is peace of mind for parents when their children can swim confidently in a competent, relaxed manner. An increasing number of adults also are learning to swim and using swimming as a non load-bearing form of exercise. It's never too early or late to learn and have fun - just add water!

Travelling workshops run by Kim Searle. All my workshops are based on encouraging sustainability, building community and supporting attendees well-being. I mostly work across West Yorkshire, South Devon, Dorset and Hampshire and the surrounding areas, but willing to travel. I also runs workshops at festivals, art events and community days.

Michelle Cade (Mind Like Water) is a sound therapist, Ayurvedic massage therapist and music producer who specialises in nourishing and relaxing experiences. She uses a blend of techniques embracing sound, scent, lighting and natural beauty as part of her holistic approach. Fascinated by the connection between sound, movement and nature, Michelle explores how music has played a vital part in rituals, raising consciousness and inducing altered states of reality for thousands of years. Both Sound and Massage therapies have been found to restore harmony and balance to the body’s biological rhythms and processes, releasing powerful hormones and natural chemicals which are vital for the body’s health and vitality. Treatments can help to detoxify and revitalise the entire body, and to induce deep relaxation. The signature Mind Like Water treatment is Ayurvedic Massage combined with Sound Therapy. She offers massage and sound treatments from her studio in Seven Sisters and at The Refinery, recently featured as one of Condé Nast’s Best Yoga Studios in East London. She also offers Sound Journeys at The Refinery every Saturday which are relaxing and powerful experiences of sound healing, breath and voice work. Michelle uses a variety of instruments including Tibetan singing bowls, rain sticks, an ocean drum, buffalo drum, steel tongue drum, tuning forks & more. Soothing therapeutic-grade essential oils are used to awaken the senses and promote an overall sense of balance and restoration.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make natural containers to store food? Birch Bark has been used for making many objects in times gone by, with its antibacterial properties and breathability helping foods to stay fresh. It can be used to boil water over an open camp fire, yet the natural oils within also make it an excellent tinder when dry! The flexibility of Birch Bark has made it attractive as a material to cover canoes with in the American North West.
