One of the Best Chinese Schools in UKThe Edinburgh Chinese Education Centre (ECEC) was founded by a group of professionals who are enthusiastic about spreading Chinese education and the Chinese culture overseas. The ECEC Chinese School was instituted in June of 2017, located in the city of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. The School is committed to providing a high quality, distinctive learning experience in the Chinese language and culture for children from all social groups. In the aspect of Chinese language education, we focus on the development of the students’ ability to understand and use the language, emphasising all-round progress in the four language skills “listening, speaking, reading and writing”. The school utilises flexible and diverse teaching methods, including multimedia teaching and interactive activities to maximise the students’ enthusiasm and interest in learning Chinese. The school encourages students to participate in different levels of YCT Chinese Proficiency Test and the Scottish SQA Simplified Mandarin Exam. Therefore, they will be assessed to show their Chinese proficiency and we will aim personalise their learning experience under the guidance of their teachers. In our school, Chinese learning can be both fun and lead to a great sense of accomplishment. The school creates opportunities for students to actively participate in cultural exchanges and volunteering activities. Our school aims to cultivate our young people and prepare our next generation with both a Chinese and Western view of life and lay a solid foundation for their career development in future. The ECEC Chinese school has a team of highly qualified teachers. Our teachers are all experts in overseas Chinese teaching. They are experienced in teaching at Chinese schools and local state / private schools. Four of them have been awarded with the title of ‘UK outstanding Chinese language teachers’, two of them are qualified with Scottish teacher credentials, and three teachers are currently working in local mainstream schools.

Upon her retirement in 2010, Carol Erdman, who had worked with inSITE for 15 years became President and CEO. Since the turn of the century, inSITE has continued to grow and serve the business community as well as contribute to the community as a whole. Improving the quality and availability of education remains our primary focus for corporations, government agencies, and the non profit community. With a strong administrative team, instructional design staff and seasoned facilitators, inSITE has the unique ability to provide a wide variety of services. We hire graduate level interns to demonstrate our commitment to development of the next generation of instructional designers and instructors. Our forte has been to place teams on-site to assess, develop, deliver, and evaluate classroom-based training and web-based solutions. inSITE has expertise in conducting comprehensive needs and task analysis that truly determine skill-based needs. We focus on performance, not training, so our recommendations, once implemented, create an environment where employees not only have task-related skills to conduct their jobs, but are able to perform at levels needed for employees to reach their benchmarks, departments to achieve their goals, and the organization to attain its strategic plan while being flexible and ready to take on new challenges. Our eLearning modules can be tailored to include your policies, culture and other specific content. We use gamification to engage learners in classroom and web-based platforms. Adults learn when they are engaged and participating so our classroom learning engages all the senses. In order to ensure significant learning occurs in two to six hour courses, we limit lectures to 15 minutes or less and call them lecturettes. The remainder of the class is for large and small group discussion, enriching case studies that are so true to life they arouse emotion, role plays that help participants understand how they naturally behave in certain situations, simulations and video vignettes that demonstrate typical work place issues and bring learning to life. We provide a number of inventories including MBTI and its Step 2, DiSC, Thomas Kilmann, Gregorc Style Delineator, and the Conflict Mode Instrument. The use of the World Café is a highly successful learning format that draws in high level professionals and managers. We ensure a great deal of practice of all new skills and tools so that participants can transfer learning readily upon return to their job. inSITE Training & Development, inc. has conducted all aspects of the ADDIE model for both the Federal government and private sector. Most often, we conduct a needs analysis as a prelude to designing and developing instruction as well. By being involved in the entire ADDIE process and often delivering the training ourselves, we have learned just how comprehensive the needs analysis must be. We have on staff advanced degreed Instructional Designers, Project Managers, Instructors and Facilitators (PhD, MBA, Masters Degree), Coaches (ICF certified), a Psychometrician, a Web designer and a Gamification/eLearning programmer.

The Alamiyah School stems from a project which began in 2005 with a determined group of home-schooling parents who were eager to create a positive learning environment for their children; one that would foster not only a love of knowledge but give the children a moral framework and nurture each child’s unique genius. The project was subsequently joined by a group of educational professionals and evolved into the Alamiyah Pre-school. We registered as an independent school (Alamiyah School) in 2017 allowing us to cater for school age pupils. The school now caters for pupils of age 3-11 years till the end of the primary age range. The Alamiyah School is inspired by the Prophetic Tradition and will use a curriculum infused with the prophetic stories, arts and sciences. The Montessori approach to early years is the framework upon which the school is based, thus creating an educational experience based on ancient wisdoms and modern discoveries. The Montessori approach creates an environment that offers each child the opportunity to express and develop their individuality and their innate need to learn. It is based on the natural laws of human development (fitra) confirmed by scientific advances and is therefore perfectly in line with a prophetic model for education. The curriculum is child centered, encourages independence and fosters empathy and compassion. The project is lead by an enthusiastic group of teachers trained in the Montessori approach, with many years experience with young children. Our teachers are professionals in their field and have a deeply rooted interest in education. Each of them has come to appreciate the importance of the early years learning in a child’s education and development.
