I am the founder of AdvocacyTutor.com. I am a Barrister and was called to the Bar in 1993. I spent a number of years at the Criminal Bar representing clients charged with all manner of offences, from unlawful abstraction of electricity to Murder. I have appeared in courts throughout England and Wales, including the Court of Appeal. I currently hold a judicial position; I sit as a panel member of the Teaching Regulation Agency. The role involves hearing and determining the outcome of allegations of misconduct against members of the teaching profession. I am a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, and the Criminal Bar Association. I am also an accredited Advocacy Trainer; I received my accreditation from the National Institute of Trial Advocates in 1999. In 1998 I decided to combine practice at the Bar with a career in Post Graduate Education. I developed my teaching career at BPP Law School, where I held various roles, including Course Director of the Bar course and Head of Advocacy Skills on the Bar Course. In 2010 I was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Law. I have over 20 years’ experience in legal education training, I have extensive experience of teaching civil and criminal Advocacy on the Bar Course, Bar Transfer Test (BTT), Higher Rights of Audience course, Legal Practice Course, and Continuing Professional Development courses, (CPD). I also have substantial experience of course and assessment design. I have a passion for teaching, learning and empowering individuals. I live is a lovely Leicestershire village with my three grandchildren and two cats. Life is constantly busy, but every available moment I have you will find me at my desk designing and making, or in my workshop adding the finishing touches to a piece. I love working with glass. It is a medium with endless possibilities, it is unpredictable, sometimes difficult to control but when it works it is just beautiful. I have been working with glass for over five years. If you look at my work it is clear to see that I am inspired by nature, the sea, flora, trees, landscapes, and I bring elements of all of these into my work. I am lucky that I have been able to spend time learning from some inspirational UK glass artists, Claire Hall in Somerset, Laura Hart in Suffolk and Roberta Ayles in Devon. All have passed on different and varied skills that have helped me progress as a glass artist. My signature pieces are my fairy pictures. Each one is individual, each one has a link to nature. Most of these are now commissions and I am always overjoyed when I get asked to make a fairy picture. This year I am beginning to discover other materials to work with including silver clay and enamel on copper. The future may involve me exploring ways of combining the different materials to see what can be produced and achieved. Due to a variety of reasons I have come to art later in life, but in retrospect this is the right time for me, what I do makes me happy, I know I am very lucky to be able to say that. I have spent over 25 years in the hospitality business, working and understanding people at all levels of customer service. Initially I worked in various hotels throughout Scotland learning all aspects of customer service journey and working at high levels of customer service delivery. All too often unfortunately we see businesses who focus on customers now and again but not tapping into the detail or emotions that go along with delivering something special for your customers. I started DM Training in 2006 to help put some of my experiences and knowledge into practice and deliver training to help businesses rise to the ever increasing challenges we come across in today’s market place. Having my own business has been a real life challenge but the rewards personally have been exciting and it has enabled me to look at the things in life that really matter. Firstly, I have learnt that in order to capture your audience when in a training role, make it fun and appealing to everyone. Doesn’t matter the subject area, if its not captured your audience then it is not being effective. Secondly - you can if you think you can. By delivering training using this principle you can deliver effective training that matters and get results. My training has taken me all over Scotland delivering training to a variety of organisations at various levels and this is what makes it exciting and keeps the energy alive. “An integral process of how we move and breathe to connect to our life authentically. “ Kristel founded Yoga Horizons in 2010. She built three classes of 6 committed yoga students that stood standing for three years, all in different locations, one studio at her own home in Westfield, Hastings. After 10 years of specializing in 1-1 classes both therapeutically and as tailored yoga sessions for entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, sports, music courses and Cooperate Clients such as SAP and Lego, Kristel moved to develop her skills and become apart of the Occupational Team at The Huntercombe Hospital, Roehampton. In 2018, She was invited by the Director to write a program for yoga on Mental Health and Wellbeing, having become a popular Teacher and Facilitator for both Doctors, Psychologists and Patients. Lack of resources from public and private funding meant that the project reached proposal level. Kristel continued training, most recently before lockdown expanding into Yoga is nurseries and schools. With the lift of lockdown Kristel began outreach Therapy using yoga and wellbeing tools developed through movement and Therapy training to enhance the lives of children under 18 suffering with Autism, Learning disabilities and epilepsy. Kristel works outreach to Guildford, Surrey and Surrounding areas. In Sport, Kristel has been invited to be a visiting teacher at the Halerquins Women’s Rugby league team, bringing her practise to English National and International Women’s Sport as well as supporting the Young Mascots on Pitch side to Chelsea FC with their warm up to accompany the footballers onto the pitch. « I am delighted to be apart of Women’s International Sport and share in their Yoga Journey » Kristel Seidler Kristel continues to support Women’s sport at Chelsea FC in the Womens League.
