We are fortunate to have superb facilities here at Caludon which provide modern and professional learning spaces and resources for every subject. We know that during the course of our students’ time here at Caludon they will inevitably face personal as well as academic challenges. Our pastoral teams are dedicated to supporting our young people so that they feel safe and happy at school, form good friendships and understand and embody our values of respect, kindness and inclusion. Shane has been involved with the martial arts since the early eighties. He started studying martial arts by learning Pentjak Silat Perisai Diri in 1983. He then moved to Chow Gar Tong Long Kung Fu with the Australian School of Kung Fu and Tai Chi with Si-Fu Tony Conley in 1986. After training full time, and becoming a senior instructor, he started teaching Tai Chi classes full time in 1990, mostly around the southern suburbs of Brisbane, Redlands and Ipswich. The club was originally called Powerline Health and Lifestyle, then after several years it changed to the Imperial Tai Chi Academy. The club Si-Sook Kung is Denis Sue -Tin and Si-Fu is Guy Sue-Tin. Studying Chinese medicine for four years, lead Shane to a greater understanding of the need to promote the natural benefits of the practice of Tai Chi. Body, mind and spirit are brought together by Tai Chi which generates a feeling of good health and vitality. The martial arts component of Tai Chi reinforces good health, both mental and physical, by promoting exercises which strengthen the body and promote overall fitness. So for Shane, Tai Chi became a relevant and meaningful activity for all ages. Shane has been teaching in the community for over 30 years and is proud to be able to make a difference to people's mobility and health. He believes it is particularly important for our seniors to continue doing some form of exercise, and Tai Chi is ideal, as it provides a gentle, slow deliberate movement that is adaptable for varying levels of mobility and fitness.

For example, in Year 7 students learn Latin and classical Greek, in addition to learning how to code in computer science. Priority Care was founded in 1987 by old friends and business partners, Andy Prior Snr. & Benny Reilly when they opened St Vigean’s Care Home in Arbroath. Caring for adults with learning disabilities, their focus from day one was to support and enable their clients in all aspects of their life whilst making them feel completely at home. Over the coming years Ben & Andy continued to develop and improve the company, acquiring and building new care homes in Tayside, Perthshire and Aberdeenshire. One of their proudest moments was opening their first purpose built facility, Harestane Care Home in 1995. Being built in Harestane Rd, Dundee this had a special meaning for Andy who had grown up with his brothers and sisters across the road and had many happy memories of playing along the Dighty Burn. By the late 90’s Andy & Ben’s sons and daughters had joined the family run business in a variety of different roles from caring to building maintenance. Andy’s eldest daughter, Veronica was appointed as Director of the groups care training company in 2005. Co-founder Ben left the company in 2010 after almost 25 years to pursue his passion for antiques opening a large antiques centre in Perthshire. Along with their team, Andy’s eldest son and daughter, Andy & Veronica have run the business since 2011 with a focus on maintaining the high quality of care Priority Care provides. On to its third generation, two of Andy Snr’s grandchildren now work in the homes. After being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, Andy Snr sadly passed away in Meigle Country House in 2018. Priority Care is his legacy which he, his good friend and family, along with their team, have worked tirelessly to build. Something we are all so proud of today. The Priority Care team is now almost 300 strong and cares for over 200 clients.
