Alyssa Peterson is a Licensed School Psychologist and the sole owner of Phoenix Education Solutions, LLC, a private practice company founded on the sacred ground of social justice and resilience. Inspired by the unique needs of underrepresented populations in public school systems, Alyssa envisioned starting a business that expands her mission to advocate for equity in student achievement. From 2015-2018, Alyssa served the school communities of South Central Los Angeles with her whole heart. She observed the daily impact of the achievement gap and collaborated with stakeholders to improve school-wide support systems. To take her advocacy even further, Alyssa joined the 2018 Policy and Advocacy Team for a non-profit organization, Educators for Excellence. Her leadership in public policy reform is evidenced within a teacher-led policy paper designed with recommendations in the areas of instructional support, restorative justice, and social-emotional learning, as well as family engagement practices.

Thank you for your interest. Emma's Background Feeling deep appreciation for my early life, growing up in a super abundant garden, bursting with wondrous flowers and bountiful blossoms. Learning from a young age how to meet with nature in her fullness of spirit. Family life was coloured with complexity, tragedy and challenge.  I found great solace within the wholeness of garden space, which heightened my awareness of our deeply interconnected, cyclical nature. Our bohemian home was full of floral interiors, antiques, un-conventional ornaments and myriad curiosities.  Many of which continue to inspire and adorn my mosaic art today. In my early twenties I began exploring the process of making sculptural ceramics for many years at a local art school.  During that time I was invited to join a weekend course making mosaics.   I loved the idea of working in instant colour and form. I meandered with mosaic process and fell in love! I later became artist in residence at a local historical house and spiritual centre, which offered courses, retreats and B&B.  People visited from all over the country and around the world, which enabled me to meet and explore with many colourful seekers.  My studio was the ground floor of a small 17th Century listed cottage in the grounds of the center. The cottage looked out onto a wonderful walled garden, which I helped to care for, harvesting inspiration for my art.  Inspiration I appreciate the beauty and generosity of our natural world.  Offering an authentic, curative ground of endless wonderment and creativity.  My garden is a great source of delight and inspiration.  Teeming with every colour and tone, heartening aromas and kindred vibrations.  I’m passionate about vintage china.  I love how it offers endless possibility of pattern, hue, myriad tender tones and expressive textures.  Inspiring a deep sense of memory and creative potentiality within.  The fragments have a fine body and reliable quality, which allows for clean, strong cuts. I find this material very pleasing to create with. The whole process of making mosaics is a miraculous quest of gathering together diverse materials, from house clearances to charity & curiosity shops, enabling an endless enchanted flow of abundant potentiality and great fun!  I’m always in deepest appreciation for unique donated gifts of broken antiques, vintage wonders, figurines, vases and re-claimed stained glass.  Technique My studio is abounding with many colour-coded palettes, brimming with vintage china treasures, enabling me to be in spontaneous mosaic flow with ease of application. I spend quiet time, musing with mosaic movement.  Creating space for day dreaming, wondering and glimpsing potentiality. I appreciate my precious tools.  Various hand cutters and nippers of many shapes and sizes.  Remarkable, reliable, dear old friends. As I begin making mosaics I often just sit and start loosely nipping and cutting.  Feeling into and aligning myself with little sparks of inspiration.  Gently shaping each piece, miracles begin transpiring through mosaic metamorphosis. I use various cement-based adhesives and PVA glues for fixing the fragments to the different surfaces.   I often use natural pigments to colour the final grout application, which creates depth and helps to unify the whole piece. Goal My intention is to encourage harmony to emerge from diverse and discarded materials. Opened in 1892, Wimbledon College is a Jesuit school and shares the traditions and values of the 2,500 Jesuit schools and universities worldwide. St Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, wrote in 1450 of Jesuit schools being "for improvement in living and learning for the greater glory of God and the common good". This remains our mission today. Wimbledon College started its life in the parlour of the presbytery of a newly established church - based in house number 3 of Cranbrook Road. In 1893 it moved to the present site, the former grounds of the Anglican Preparatory Military Academy. The first Headmaster was Father James Nicholson SJ and there were only two pupils enrolled when the school first opened. The school now has over 1200 boys on roll from Year 7 to 13. An early school photo As a boy progresses through the school he becomes part of this tradition, experiencing at first hand its pattern of teaching, values and practices, informed by the Jesuit vision. It is our hope that each boy will accept this rich heritage and make it his own and in so doing will be prepared for life, which is itself a preparation for eternal life. Newcastle Quran School is an established Quran teaching school located in Newcastle upon Tyne UK. The school is run by a group of highly qualified Quran teachers who are keen on teaching Quran memorisation and recitation to Muslims in the UK and abroad. After five successful years and more than 200 learners memorising one chapter (juz’) to the entire Holy Quran, we’ve decided to expand our reach and start our online school to serve the wider Muslim community in the UK. We teach students how to master reciting the Quran using ‘Al Qaidah An-Noraniah’, which is a special method for teaching Quran recitation that has proven to be very efficient for learning and correcting pronunciation for native and non-native Arabic speakers. The school is a branch of a well-established Quran School in Menya, Egypt where thousands of students from all over the world memorised the Quran and graduated.
