The private PT studio which Dan Newman owns and uses for his personal training clients. The gym is in on Watermill Way in Wimbledon SW19 and is surrounded by picturesque parkland and river side cafes. There is a map and some video of the fitness studio along with a description of how and where clients can work with their personl trainer. You may choose to exercise with myself or another trainer in my diverse and experienced team according to your preferences. We operate 4 PT studios dispersed conveniently throughout Wimbledon and the practice we run is one of high standards that remains relaxed and fun while it targets your results and works hard at achieving them with you. We offer 1:1 PT, a full schedule of group ex classes including Hiit classes, circuits, pilates, yoga, box-fit-hiit and more. I recruit the best PTs and provide them a scenario that enables them to thrive, so that we can provide you with the best experience available in Personal Training anywhere. Choosing a DNPT trainer means chooosing a trainer that has already been carefully vetted, and whose knowledge and enjoyment for the job is nourished and consistently developed. I do not lead the company alone, a central core of senior PTs share the task, enabling us to run a smooth and professional service in which every trainer is invested. As well as this you can rest assured that excitement and personality are just as important to us. Our environment of high standards and continued development enriches the experience of PT for every member – client, trainer and company. It is my opinion, formed over 30 years in health and fitness, with more than 18 years as a one-on-one PT, that turning up for the exercise hour alone is not enough to help people achieve a lasting change. Which is why, as well as your actual PT Sessions you will be provided a full plan and experience a great deal of support from us with any lifestyle changes required to achieve your results. Assessors and Development Coaches can track learner progress dynamically to achieve timely completions. Everything you need for your course is in one place and you can upload your work to your online portfolio to be marked by your Development Coach. Amala (formerly known as Sky School) was conceived in 2017, in response to the gap in quality education provision for displaced youth. Our name is inspired by the Arabic word for hope, which our education embodies. We believe that young refugees - as all people - have a right to quality education. Yet, fewer than one in three refugees are able to complete their secondary education and only 6% are able to access higher education. In 2016, Amala co-founders Mia and Polly were working on a prestigious scholarship; the programme admitted refugees to schools around the world to complete their upper secondary education. They found that for every scholarship place available, hundreds of promising applicants were turned away. Their subsequent research showed that there were few educational opportunities available for refugee youth aged 16-25, many of whom are forced to drop out of educational systems due to the barriers they face. The idea for Amala was born: to provide transformational learning programmes for displaced youth and their host communities to improve their lives today and open up opportunities for the future. Amala has two key programmes: The Amala High School Diploma, the first high school diploma designed for and with refugee youth, and Changemaker Courses in areas such as Peace-building, Ethical Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship. Amala supports students to access further opportunities for education, training and work beyond their studies. Read more about our programmes here. Amala’s curriculum has been developed with the support of our educational partner UWC South East Asia, one of the largest international schools in the world with an expertise in values-based curriculum development, and led by UWCSEA’s former Director of Teaching and Learning Stuart MacAlpine, in collaboration with refugee youth and 150 educators. Amala learning focuses on the development of learner agency as well as competencies that enable learners to make change in their lives and communities. Amala learning is delivered through a blended learning model and in light of Covid-19 many courses have been adapted to an online model. Amala programmes are delivered both directly by Amala and in collaboration with partners whose missions are aligned to our own. Through collaborating with partners we have been able to bring transformational education to refugees in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Heeley Residents Association wanted to see the land used to make Heeley a better place to live. During 1980 the Association developed the idea of a city farm, and gradually won support for it. Work began on site in July 1981 and the Farm was founded. Over the following years Heeley City Farm had to fight one major battle after another for money and security but the enthusiasm of workers and residents won through. The Farm grew organically over the years from it’s early days with a shed and £25 in the bank, and soon became a well-loved part of the Heeley landscape providing beautiful green spaces and education, employment, and training opportunities. Heeley City Farm is now a well established community, not for profit charity and visitor attraction based on a working farm a mile from Sheffield City centre. Staff and volunteers from Heeley City Farm work with young people, adults with learning disabilities and with local communities across Sheffield to promote regeneration, environmental education, energy efficiency and health and well-being. Horticulture trainees, staff and volunteers also manage organic vegetable gardens at Meersbrook Park, Wortley Walled Gardens and Firth Park allotments. The last remaining terraced house on the Farm site on Alexandra Road has been eco –refurbished and now houses Heeley Energy House, formerly South Yorkshire Energy Centre, an interactive visitor and advice centre open to the public on Wednesday - Sunday, 11am - 3pm. Heeley City Farm is open every day of the year except Christmas Day 9am till 5pm
