Our tutors are ambitious, social and enthusiastic top tier students who excel in their field of study and have an affinity with teaching. This is what we seek in a tutor in order to provide the best lessons for the student. Only with an 8 or higher and a genuine interest in the relevant subject will such a top tier student be selected. After an initial interview, it is up to the selected candidate to show us how he or she teaches. If that is sufficient, the teacher who has been hired will enter the training process, consisting of one or more trial lessons in which an actual lesson is simulated. During the entire period up to the first lesson and after that, the (prospective) teacher is extensively supervised by a quality manager who has several years of teaching experience and has shown superior results. Only tutors who are evaluated by students with an 8.0 average or higher for multiple actual lessons are given a permanent place in our team of tutors. All permanent lecturers take part in an advanced training programme, which focuses on improving teaching fundamentals, such as didactics, pedagogy, interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Students are often tempted to (only) make summaries and re-read or highlight textbooks, with the misleading idea that this improves their study results. Based on the available evidence, these study techniques are rated as being low utility learning (Dulonsky et al. 2013). At AthenaStudies, we are constantly analysing the most recent studies and assess student needs in order to find the most effective study methods to ensure the highest grades. It is proven that the most effective study method is retrieving the information out of the brain, instead of putting information into the brain. Spitzer et al. (1939) found that students who did one extra practice test scored about 10-15% better on their exam that students who did not. A more recent study from Butler et al. (2010) suggest an even bigger difference, with an estimated 30%. Hence, practice is key. Karpicke & Blunt (2011) takes this idea one step further and found that a group of students who read a topic four times scored less than students who practiced with the topic only once. Our tech team has created an ideal online environment where our teaching methods can flourish. Every course given by AthenaStudies is interactive and includes a lot of exam level practice material. It gives the students the opportunity to practice during the course and think for themselves. My friend was already regularly attending the gym and lifting weights – so naturally he was in much better shape (and stronger) than me. I remember feeling really self conscious, I was older than him but considerably skinnier/lankier. I used to hate the way that clothes would sit on me, especially t-shirts, because my arms would be hanging out of the sleeves like little twigs. While we were abroad, we would go to the gym together and train. He would show me exercises to do, explaining how each individual exercise built upon certain muscles groups and from there onwards I was instantly hooked. I remember the first time I left the gym, I felt so good about myself and all of the hard work i’d put in. My muscles were all pumped up from lifting the weights, I felt HUGE… sadly I was not, but I still loved the feeling. As I got more involved in training I started to learn how different things like nutrition and recovery affect your results, so I started to research more and more on how to maximise my progress. After a few years of endless studying and giving my friends advice/tips, some of them actually asked me “why don’t you become a personal trainer?”. I was still studying to be a gas engineer at this point, which was considered a “good and safe” job so I never really gave it much thought. After my third year of my gas engineering apprenticeship I started to really dread going to work, thinking to myself “is this what my life is going to amount to?” Early & dull mornings, dreading ever second spent at work, working for someone else? At this point I knew something had to change but I stuck through my apprenticeship and got my qualification in may 2016. One or two months into being a fully qualified engineer I signed up for a personal training course which started in January 2017. It was a weekend course but I thought this dream was worth giving up my weekends for. By may 2017 I was a fully qualified personally trainer, and I have now worked with hundreds of people world wide. Throughout my journey, even to this day, I’m still learning more and more about training, nutrition, recovery, anatomy and even mindset. I am constantly studying and striving to really help people change not just their body – but their overall attitude towards fitness. I don’t just want my clients to look better, I want my clients to be better. I want to show them how to exert control over their mind, body and how to push themselves to limits they previously never thought possible.

Hi my name is Katy Robinson, Director of Katy Robinson Fitness Fusion Ltd and creator of ‘On Broadway’. We believe every woman deserves to feel confident, allow time for themselves and find something they love to do in order to get fit!Our team of passionate, experienced instructors use top hats, feather boas, canes and songs from all the popular Broadway shows, in local community venues that offer safe, non-judgemental classes for women of all ages, shapes, sizes and those with two left feet. We work with women of all ages who have a passion for dance! Ideally you are mid 40’s through to any age – you are never too old to dance. You may have had previous experience of dancing – be it as a young child going to a dance class or as a teenager doing it more seriously or as an experienced dancer, or you have always wanted to learn to dance but never had the chance. Typically you struggle with finding something you really love doing to keep fit that doesn’t seem like hard work and you may dislike going to the gym and doing the typical aerobic classes. You may feel intimidated in other classes and fear that you lack co-ordination, are un-fit, what if everyone is better than you and what if everyone is younger than you. You would like to improve your confidence, stamina and co-ordination whilst getting fit and having fun and be able to escape into make believe and have a little bit of ‘me’ time each week and meet like-minded women. What separates my ‘On Broadway’ dance classes from other adult dance/fitness classes is my background as a professional dancer, dance and fitness teacher and choreographer, fused with my coaches and I’s infectious enthusiasm, knowledge of musical theatre, passion for dance and fitness, combined with our ability to break down the most complex of choreography. As a result ‘On Broadway’ clients receive a unique dance class that enables you to have fun whilst getting fit doing what you love doing and a chance for you to reveal their ‘inner show girl’ and learn to dance like no one is watching! ‘On Broadway’ classes also incorporate positive mind-set techniques to promote health, happiness and wellbeing. They also include ‘Be Activated’ muscle activation technique to help increase flexibility and optimum muscle function. Making you feel at ease, providing you with a safe space to exercise and allowing you to relax and be yourself, havimg fun with like-minded women and creating a community is our number one priority. An increase in fitness, flexibility and co-ordination is a by-product and learning how to dance is a bonus.

Lingua Diversa Group (LDG) was formed in 2002 by Esther Sahagun and Lucio Daniele, two language teachers who until then had enjoyed an extensive and fulfilling time in teaching Spanish and Italian to both adults and children. Lingua Diversa Group provide Language Training in Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, English, Polish, Chinese (Mandarin) and Japanese at all levels. Other languages available on request. Lessons can take place either at your offices or at our premises anytime Monday to Saturday. We have been running language courses in many companies in the London area (e.g. management consulting firms, financial companies, marketing agencies, sports companies, oil companies). We pride ourselves in providing our clients with not only a professional and friendly service but also with affordable language lessons. The method we use is known as “the communicative approach” where the emphasis is always on the speaking and understanding of the language.
