The Judo Federation welcomed very favourably the introduction of judo in the school curriculum to the point that Catherine Arnaud proposed to teach it in our school. Judo is for students beginning at age 4 and a half and all Montessorian judokas, who are certified by the judo federation, pass the grades at the end of the year. Judo is a sport that allows the child to develop many skills: respect for the rules, respect for others and respect for oneself. It builds self-confidence and an ability to communicate. The structured character of judo (dress, rules, greeting, respect of the teacher) allows children to flourish. This contact sport participates in better appropriating the body diagram which remains an essential step to develop a better knowledge of oneself and helps to promote self-confidence. Through this activity, children evacuate excess physical energy and release their emotional charge which can be a source of aggression. Judo is therefore a wonderful opportunity of self-learning and brings forth an extraordinary development of the personality (taste of the effort, surpassing oneself, spirit of sharing, respect, development of motor skills). Including judo in the school curriculum is a unique chance to practice a high-caliber sport in a peaceful and caring environment.

We’ve come a long way since first arriving in London all those years ago, and the journey was well worth it! We’ve learned a lot – both about ourselves and about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Being the head of a London cleaning company means learning the ins and outs of the entire cleaning process – research the methodologies and looking into the various cleaning solutions, used within the field. Reading up on the dangerous side-effects of most detergents sparked Antoaneta’s interest and she began researching different approaches to commercial cleaning. There simply had to be a way to get good results without putting the employees or clients in danger of chemical exposure. Eventually, one thing led to another, and she realized she was no longer interested in the subject merely from a professional standpoint. It was no longer just about efficiency and work ethics. She had discovered her passion. She began looking for ways to not only stay safe but also protect the environment and those close to her.

The strategic investment, in partnership with BE-A’s founders, marks a new phase in BE-A’s continuing mission to bring affordable and accessible upskilling courses to consumers and businesses globally through its direct-to-consumer platform, New Skills Academy, and its SME-focused business platform, Staff Skills Training. Addition Capital’s acquisition was part financed through an undisclosed commercial loan from Shawbrook Bank. Opened in 1892, Wimbledon College is a Jesuit school and shares the traditions and values of the 2,500 Jesuit schools and universities worldwide. St Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, wrote in 1450 of Jesuit schools being "for improvement in living and learning for the greater glory of God and the common good". This remains our mission today. Wimbledon College started its life in the parlour of the presbytery of a newly established church - based in house number 3 of Cranbrook Road. In 1893 it moved to the present site, the former grounds of the Anglican Preparatory Military Academy. The first Headmaster was Father James Nicholson SJ and there were only two pupils enrolled when the school first opened. The school now has over 1200 boys on roll from Year 7 to 13. An early school photo As a boy progresses through the school he becomes part of this tradition, experiencing at first hand its pattern of teaching, values and practices, informed by the Jesuit vision. It is our hope that each boy will accept this rich heritage and make it his own and in so doing will be prepared for life, which is itself a preparation for eternal life. We set our base in the coastal city of Dalian and launched our first project within this city: a summer school course for Chinese students between the ages of 10-18. John Chilton School is a mixed Community Special School funded by Ealing Local Authority for pupils aged 4-19 years who may have moderate to severe learning difficulties as a primary need or as a dual diagnosis to their medical or physical needs. John Chilton School is unique in that the main part of the school is located within the all age Alec Reed Academy (ARA). This enables pupils form both schools to integrate and be included as needed. The Phase 2 department is temporarily placed at Wood End Academy in Greenford. John Chilton School has a bespoke building for three classes with additional facilities of a hall, therapy room, sensory room, cookery room and medical support. Specialist staff and therapists working across both sites linking them and ensuring the excellence of the whole school provision. The school building is fully accessible for pupils with disabilities. Facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, therapy suite, food technology rooms, sensory room and a medical room.
