The Shop Zero Story When our founder, Sarah Maloy, went all-in on Plastic-free July in 2016, she felt completely overwhelmed! The world just wasn’t set up to help people reduce their waste. In committing to shop more consciously, Sarah embarked on an exciting new journey. She realised that if she was struggling to get bulk food and refills for her containers then other people would be too. How could she help to provide a solution? By opening her own zero-waste shop, Shop Zero (you can read about this experience in Sarah’s own words here). Sarah threw all of her research and knowledge into Shop Zero, only stocking products from ethical suppliers that she would personally use. Why do your eco-friendly shopping at Shop Zero? Our focus is on providing you with great quality sustainable goods with minimal packaging and a lower environmental impact. At Shop Zero, we know the provenance of what we sell – where our products come from and what they’re made of. We work alongside local producers and makers to bring you great quality sustainable products. To reduce packaging and food waste, we offer whole foods and store cupboard essentials in bulk and unpackaged. All ready for your own containers, in the quantities that you choose. We also host an exciting programme of ethically-focused events, talks, pop-up shops and workshops throughout the year featuring some amazing local independent businesses and individuals. And we’re here to talk with you about what you’re buying, so you can shop sustainably with confidence. We need a change in the way we consume and shop. Nature is cyclical and we need to follow her example (click here to find out more about adopting a circular economy). We’ve become disconnected from our environment. We provide arts-led creative and reminiscence workshops, commissioned discreet learning for people living in care, art projects, art in care and reminiscence training, and online activity services. I qualified as an infant massage teacher in 2016 and extended my qualifications to deliver yoga, sign and messy craft sessions. I juggle this with being a mother to my daughter. Before taking time off to have my daughter, I worked as a teacher and Head of Department in a Secondary school for almost 9 years within; Health and Social Care and Nutrition, at GCSE and A Level. During the first year of motherhood I was diagnosed with postnatal depression, which was a little bit of a shock. I had no idea about it, had never heard of it, didn't know how I would be treated and helped along and I had hundreds of questions. Eventually once I was able to find the correct support for me, things improved and I felt safe. My whole experience as a first time mum suffering postnatal depression led me down this path. I was keen to help and support other parents and carers, creating fun sessions for all who attend, to support all individually who attend, in all aspects of health. Making individuals feel safe, supported and cared for whilst enjoying fun and engaging sessions. The thing I love about baby massage and yoga, is the way it can help new parents build or enhance that bond with their new born and it is very instant - I can literally see it happen before my eyes, and this is a very special time. I love the way all of our sessions helps both parent or carer and the child. It is so wonderful to see all who attend go one a journey. Giving individuals the skills, the confidence and self-esteem to re-create sessions at home. I hold the Touch Learn International Qualification in Infant Massage, Baby Yoga and Baby Signing and a full and valid first aid certificate as well as a yearly updated DBS

Derby City Boxing Academy was founded in February 2009 by Midlands A.B.A. coach Alex Neave. The club itself is in a prime location for the younger society with its main aim being to promote boxing and provide a facility for those whom participate, helping them become responsible citizens and respecting their local community. Our goal is to provide fair guidance and support to all, regardless of race, disability or gender. The club is affiliated to the Amateur Boxing Association of England (A.B.A.), which has set guidelines that all club members must follow. Amateur boxing is recognised worldwide as a contact sport, teaching the techniques and skills required to become an Amateur boxer under qualified instruction and supervision. Having inherited the desire to engage in combat from the beginning of man-kind, boxing enables individuals to release built up aggression, and provides a release from the every-day stresses life brings Derby City Boxing Academy prides itself on the environment it operates which is based on camaraderie and encouragement between all members. Our first priority is the well-being of our boxers and their development as individuals. Our members come from many different cultural backgrounds, both male and female and the club aims to build self-esteem, confidence, improved communication skills, respect, self-discipline and life skills.
