Most of our 220 students study A-Levels, GCSEs or one of our International Foundation Programme pathways. We also offer a unique alternative to A-Levels called the Combined Studies Programme which provides an alternative pathway to UK Universities for British Students. Another exciting and popular programme of study is the Academic Studies with Football or Basketball Training, which offers the students the opportunity to combine GCSE, A-Level or the International Foundation Programme study with their passion for sport. We strongly believe that the discipline of sport helps support academic study in the form of the 5 Rs; Routine, Rigour, Responsibility, Resilience and Reflection. Founded in 2013, we are a consortium of African and African Caribbean-led supplementary schools delivering high quality educational, social and cultural provision across the Greater Manchester area. Our consortium consists Highway Hope Supplementary School, Grace Incorporation Faith Trust (GIFT) Academy Supplementary School, Highway Hope Social Enterprise, Twilight School at MMU and Nurturing Foundations. Our mission is to build capacity within the community education sector. We aim to: Grow our consortium of supplementary schools across the Greater Manchester area. Share teaching, research, capital and human resources across the consortium. Focus on teaching core curriculum subjects (English, Maths and Sciences). Use digital, creative education and training as well as heritage studies as media for teaching core curriculum subjects. Provide high quality, academically relevant extra-curricular enrichment activities across the consortium. Support volunteer teachers across the consortium with their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Initial Teacher Training (ITT). Support CPD and ITT with high quality community-led research Form partnerships with educational, cultural and social providers to continually strengthening our educational provision within the communities we serve. Expand our programme of community lifelong learning initiatives. Mentor young people in employability and enterprise skills. Develop education and enterprise programmes which include apprenticeship programmes. Women With Wings is an organisation primarily aimed at supporting women getting into training, employment and self employment. Our Enterprise Centre provides space where individuals can learn new skills, gain qualifications and start their own business. The centre will help remove barriers and improve lives by increasing confidence and reducing isolation in our members. Language can often be a barrier to engaging with local services, so we are here to support and signpost where necessary. Childcare can also be an obstacle for many, limiting their opportunities to ones that are local but also have to fit around the school run. The Enterprise Centre is based in Little Hulton on a local shopping precinct just off Manchester Road. The centre has private rooms to rent as office space, meetings or training as well as Wi-Fi access and free refreshments.
